My first car was an 89 corvette. It was my dad's first vette, he gave it to me after I started college. It's a fun car to drive, turn lots of heads, and the most reliable car I own to this day.
@@FitmentIndustries Hey Edgar, my current plans is to build it. I will start with rebuilding the L98 350 and bore it out to a 383, beef up the transmission, upgrade the suspension, and finish up the body work to make it a light & powerful street car.
When I was 15 and had my first job I decided to build a 93 hatchback, ended up with 4 of them and one with all the goodies you could want. 3 were salvage titled but one was clean and had 70k original miles, so I took all the good parts off of all the other ones, got some aftermarket suspension components, did paint, and then decided that I wanted it faster, and went on the journey of figuring out how engines work so I could turbo it. 19 years old now, rockin with the 530 hp turbo civic, a 96 tacoma, and a 04' wrx hatchback. Cars are amazing!
Hell yeah I actually bought my first car at 15 a 94 Chevy Blazer but I only had it for a week it was totaled a drunk driver did a hit and run on it infront of my house and they never got him so I was tough out of luck I had a lot of plans for it but about 2 years later I saved up enough to get myself a 2010 Camaro SS with 52k miles I got it for a steal was super pleased with that at 17 that’s all the power you could ever ask for
@@iamkneeoh4031 that depends on what you can find in your area, ya know? Honestly, and I know this might sound like the bullshit answer, but just go for whatever is cheap. If you have the facilities to fix up cosmetic issues, such as rust/dents and stuff, you might go for something a little bit worse for wear just cause it’s cheaper. If you know that’s out of the option, go for something a bit more pricy but in better condition. Finding things for cheap really just comes down to knowing what to look for. Finding my vehicles if I’m looking for something to fix up, I’ll typically look for mechanic special or blown motor type deals! As far as specific vehicles, that’s all gotta come down to personal taste and how much flavor you wanna add. I recommend something cheaper though, because the cheaper cars have cheaper parts to fix or modify, and it can allow you to save up money for a bigger/more high end project. In my case, I started with a ‘93 Honda civic hatchback, built that how I wanted it on a low income job($11.15/h, working 40 hours a week), and then had a nice, fun car to drive while I saved up money for a bigger project. Related to my last post, I sold the Subaru and the Toyota, and put together some saved money from higher paying jobs, and now I’m building a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 :) it all comes down to personal taste brother. There’ll be discouraging moments when you’re building something if you keep it long enough where it seems like nothing is going right, but it’s definitely worth it having a car that you can 100% call your own. Another piece of advice I have, is do your research, and keep in mind the saying “do it nice, or do it twice.” Hope this helps, glad to see someone young wanting to get into the scene 🤙
Just bought my first car 5 month ago and it’s a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 and I will say it has been the the best 5 month I could have asked for. The Community behind this car is one of the best I’ve seen and you can do so much with the cars and I just got some new wheels and tires from your guys!!
Coupe or sedan? I'm looking for a V6, RWD, Asian sedan that's not a Nissan/Infiniti, and the 1st-gen Hyundai Genesis Sedan is on the list (preferably 3.8 GDI).
Affordable builds but prices to aquire have gone bonkers. Can't find a genny for under $10k in WA state. Any wrx even bug eye are barely under $10k as well.
@@SpriteIsSpicyWater depends on year but absolutely yes on alot of them. I buy and sell civic's and it's been over a year since I've had a clean title good condition 1999-2000 and when I do find one they are $10,000+ if they are stock documented clean title car. 2007-2012 coupes are still fairly easy to find and at an ok price but it's the sedans's everyone wants and those 2008-2010 have become near impossible. The real holy grail is the 2008 Mugen si with only 1000 made I've been looking for one for 3 years for my personal collection.
just jumped into performance cars with a 93 corvette! super fun, 300hp, pop up headlights, reliable chevy v8. cheap and fairly chill to maintain. premium gas hurts but all things considered it gets good gas mileage. C4s are worth a consideration when looking for a first car to start modifying.
What else is next for it?! Any big plans? Should definitely add it to the gallery when you have things dialed up! -Edgar www.fitmentindustries.com/add-wheel-offset
Purchased my first car at 17 and it is a 03 350z. In the first year of owning it is an amazing car . I haven't modded it or doing something stupid like stancing it other than repainting it and modifying a 370z wing to fit it. I am planning to make it into a v12 rear engine swap 350z. Yes I am that stupid.
Yes the ST made it! 2017, 84k miles, original owner... Love it! If you get out of your car and don't look back at it as you walk away... That wasn't the car for you 😁
My 18 Ecoboost Mustang was the perfect learner car for how to drive sporty like and how to modify cars. These cars are built with the aftermarket in mind!
1:10 and then there's me who for my first project car bought a rotary despite starting out with next to no mechanical knowledge lmao. Despite the ass-kickings though I'm still enjoying learning about it and restoring it!
@@Nazo_Sil80 there are some small differences, but there is support to build ralliarts. The snyds on youtube is building his ralliart (among others) and hes shooti g for 500hp. So evo parts themselves may not swap, but there plenty of support to do mods
First car is the BMW 328i E90 four door and I put it on lowering springs plus new shocks from Koni. Car rides in a very composed manner now and I have fallen in love with the roar of the muffler swap resonator delete N/A N52 engine (I know it has no turbos) If I could have gotten the 350z I would have done the same thing and am now a big fan of suspension work!! Thanks Fitment Industries
As a Fiesta ST owner since 2015. Yes. Sorry Focus ST you’re still cool but the lighter weight makes a world difference. Also, the Fiesta ST feels more comfortable for driver and passengers. Its weird
@@2010ngojo the s280 turbo is bolt on, it fits all the factory stuff and doesn't need customization. So it's a bolt on(not rods or pistons, those are not bolt on lol). On E30, stock turbo can make 240whp~ and 300+wheel torque. So they're peppy
@@j_mars_cars Oh I know the stock engine can handle it, it's just everything else. A lot of people just don't consider turbo upgrade as a bolt on is all.
Imo you have your GOATS as best first cars to mod but really any car that is reliable is a great first car to learn on. My 06 Yaris went from my a-b daily to the car I experiment with so in the future I can really put my all into a good car.
my first car that i still drive is an 05 focus sedan. they’re almost never seen modified, if you google one you’ll find like 3 really well done. its really fun to drive with some OK aftermarket support and i have it tuned, on coilovers, and of course, enkei wheels and toyo tires from FI.
My first "new" car was an Arctic Blue 2002 RSX Type-S. I miss that thing. And if you told me that K20 engine is still relevant 20 years later, I'd say you were crazy but here we are.
*clears throat* a Grand Prix GTP :) amazing first car, bulletproof engine, supercharged, fwd, plenty of aftermarket support, i know because i own one. :D
Hey Gels, first off, you and the guys and gals at Fitment Industries are doing a awesome job. A suggestion on a car for this list I think would be the VW Passat. They're available in 4 Cyl Turbo, V6, and W8 (VW specialty V8) and have good aftermarket support.
Have a white 2018 Accord Touring with 235/40R19 and have been thinking of getting a set of Aodhan DSO2s in bronze with a white lip wrapped in 245/45R18 rubber. But I don’t know what back spacing I should go with. Stock suspension and brakes for now.
According to FI getting a 5.0 coyote is a good idea as a first sports car… I told u guys to give the new edges/sn95’s some spotlight. I picked one up 5 months ago, 5 speed manual, 146xxx miles for ONLY 4 grand!!! THATS A GOOD FIRST SPORTS CAR! A car where u can make mistakes and be forgiven. Not a 25k car with 400whp. S550 belongs in another list, sorry. I know u guys love the coyote, but other mustang exist out there too!
Yes they can be found for less than 20k but when you’re young it’s a very unrealistic expectation. With even a hella good down payment you’d expect the monthly payments somewhere over ~$450-700( you’re young probably under 25 insurance gonna kill you) so now I want to mod my car but I’m going to school and working just to barley be able to afford the payments on the car… see what I mean not very realistic unless you are given everything to you by ur parents.
Lol, me who started with a rx8 because i wanted to learn rotary and rx7’s were too expensive. Not realising, that the rx8’s 13b is different than the rew that people in the community have come to know and love. No regrets though car looks cool to me
my first car was a 6 speed rx8 it was super low miles for insanely cheap and has been the most fun I've had from any car I have ever driven, definitely would not recommend getting it as your first car unless its super low mileage, but the only thing that went wrong was the reverse gear switch went bad a week before I sold it
I just got a low mile 6 speed Rx8 as my first car! I am certainly looking forward to this adventure. I have done ample research and am excited to join the Rx8 comunity.
I'm looking to get into the car scene and I just want a general opinion on whether I should set my eyes on the 11-14 S197's or the s550's of this decade. Only reason I'm going with a mustang is simply cuz I want a muscle car rather than a tuner
I’d Definitely the 11-14 s197s in my opinion. Just beware of the manual transmissions.. they like to come out of the car when worked hard but the modern s550s look great too
My first car was a 1980 cutlass ugh didn't choose it. First car i chose was an EF civic hatch. Best first car now that's good for modifications I would say mazdaspeed 3. They haven't quite got to the inflation levels of the 350/370z, civic si's or s chassis stuff.
Listen, starting with a rotary is the best option...Having your first car be a headache makes the more expensive later life decisions a lot smarter. the last thing you want is the smooth easy then the catastrophic...Like anything if you train hard you play easy. Cars I always say "Get get a cluster fuck first, you will learn, get instant street cred if that's something you admire.....weird to me but. This will make you become a really smart car customiser when you get to your next car, you wont make as many mistakes and the build will be dope and any headaches you have "Whatever my first car was a dorrito with shotty seals, this will be easy and FUN...HARD BEFORE EASY. WHY HAVE WE CHANGED THIS IDEA. FITMENT. ALL THE DOPE CAR GUYS, YOURSELF INCLUDED DID IT THE CRAZY THEN ....THEN SMOOTH. WHY ARE YOU SELLING THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MADE YOU GUYS SO GOOD. MAKE COMPETITION DONT ERASE IT.
At 15 in 2010 my first car was a 1972 chevy nova, i loved that thing but it escaped my hands:( since then ive tried to fill the void and ive had a 2004 VW passat, 96 Mazda B3700, 90 BMW E30, 99 Honda civic ex, 03 Subaru impreza, 89 BMW E30, 2004 Infinity G35, 91 lexus LS400, 90 Acura Integra, 95 Lexus LS400, 15 Hyundai Genesis, 08 Porche Cayman S, 16 Chrysler 300S, 11 Mercedes C300, 99 GMC Yukon, 99 Lexus GS400, 91 Lexus LS400, 2004 Landrover RR, 03 GMC Yukon Denali, 96 Acura TL, and currently have a 13 Base Mustang....i want my nova back
My issue with the vq35 is they have been around long enough to be used and a used and nissan parts are high af. If you can afford the prices for sensors and typical issues... then you can also afford a 5 series bmw
MR2's are the jam! Whats all done to it so far? If you have it dialed in make sure to add it to the gallery! 💪💪💪 -Edgar www.fitmentindustries.com/add-wheel-offset
@@FitmentIndustries wheels and suspension purchased from you guys of course. some interior. Mostly mechanical and keeping it running. The 2 owners before me did a great job keeping it rust free but a pretty bad job keeping the maintenance done.
@@FitmentIndustries I've had my eyes set on a 350z since I was a kid. My dad had a job at at a car dealership for a whole 2 months and we got to test drive a Z when he brought me to work one time. Been a dream car ever since!
My first car was a 96 Acura Integra GSR at 16🥲 i still have it, its just a never ending project. I was doing body work to it back in high school 2020 and i never got to finish it bc of covid. I also blew the motor twice bc i was a dumb high schooler and didnt know any better LOL I used to drive a 97 civic hatch and i really learned how to work on cars bc of it. I crashed it, fixed it, then lost motivation to even work on it/drive it so i sold it and got an 06 RSX Type S and its so much better in every way. I highly recommend a Type S if anyone is looking for a car
my ef civic is ~31 years old and the chassis is fine. the age really doesnt matter, what matters is if its in good condition so try to convince them and have the seller let you inspect or take it to a mechanic to inspect before purchasing. i will say this, anything earlier that 2000 will usually require suspension tuning up. age really only hits anything made from rubber (ball joints, bushings, etc). im assuming its at least a 2002 so you should be fine. i got em1 and the rubber bits are still holding up so 20 years isnt that concerning.
Why dont you make a video on Toyota Mr2 mk1... Not many video's worth talking about on YT about this car. BUT it will give u 1000's likes.. fb is filled with forums about theese cars
How'd a junkstang get on the list when the Camaros LS is a far easier and more common engine to dwell with even the price point beats the competition. Same can be said about the Ecotec that rivals the LS on reliability, affordability and aftermarket support
We decided to evolve the company brand and do Anovia and make Artisa one of our lineups! We have a lot more coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned! 💪 -Edgar
Me with a reg vw jetta watching hearing when you say they not going to be the most reliable ik 😒 remembering i had like 20 codes when i first got it 😆😮💨🙄💩
If the GTI is the poor man's Golf R, than I drive a poor man's GTI. MK1 Tiguan. Same motor, no enthusiast tax, and my parents like it. In exchange for a fuck ton of body roll of course, but nothing coils can't fix
