Two fixed blade knives reign supreme for bushcraft at this price range. Most of you are probably familiar with the Mora (reviews of a couple Moras to come), but perhaps less of you are familiar with the Hultafors Craftsman Knife!
This Swedish made scandi-ground knife has SK5 carbon steel and can be had at full price for something like... $8.30. Or, if you get it on sale like I did, you can get it for around $5.50. Unbelievable value!
Get it from Lamnia!

Glad to see you found this video! By the way, sorry to hear about some of the issues you're going through. I know for a fact that you've got plenty of knives in the collection to keep the channel going great though, so don't worry about getting any new ones in the meantime, the old ones are just as fun to see! Take care and thanks for watching!

Nice video. Just a comment... Hultafors knives are designed in Sweden but made in Taiwan using Japanese SK5 carbon tool steel or AUS8 stainless steel. Nothing wrong with knives made in Taiwan btw, it is where the Cold Steel SRK comes from (maybe even the same factory). Hultafors is an old Swedish company that has a history going back to the 19th century, they make a whole plethora of tools and were the inventors of the folding ruler for carpenters. For anyone worried about the handle being slippery, spend two bucks more and get the version with the grooved rubberized handle which is even more comfortable... I like the Hultafors knives better than Moras because they have a somewhat slicier grind (20 degrees included, 10 per side) and tend to hold an edge longer than equivalent Moras.

I see William gave you a shout out. Very cool. I was already subbed, but hopefully this will give your channel a boost. I like to see smaller channels get the support they deserve. I am a huge fan of scandi grinds. They are hands down the best knives for working with wood, whether camp/bushcraft chores or carving type hobby work. They aren't the only grind of fixed blades I use when I go out to play in the woods, but they are by far my most used ones.

Glad to have you as a subscriber! I agree, Scandi knives are easily my favorite (though I'm biased due to my Finnish heritage). Most of what I use my knives on is wood anyway, so Scandi grinds tend to work the best for me, I've only got a couple of non-scandi fixed blades! I should get more, but that'll have to wait until I'm not flat broke!

If you find plastic handles slipping when wet, wrap a couple of ranger bands around the handle. All the best

Great tip! I've actually never noticed them to be slippery, but that's a great suggestion to prevent it from ever being a problem!
