Day 4 in Seoul was one for all the food lovers, as we took on the Gwangjang and Myeongdong markets 🥢
Gwangjang Markets are the more local markets and a place to try some more exotic Korean delicacies. There are over 5,000 shops here and it’s one of the oldest markets in the whole of South Korea 🇰🇷
There aren’t any specific places to eat, just get yourself in the mixer and the adventure will unfold in front of you.
We tried:
- Tzoboki 🍝
- Korean sausage 🌭
- Kimbap 🍱
- Custard buns 🍮
- Dumplings 🥟
- Chicken feet 👣
- Pork skin 🐖
- Glazed fruit stick 🍓
- Frozen and burnt marshmallows
Myeongdong night market are more catered for tourists right in the heart of the main shopping district. They open at 5pm and I would advise getting here for then, as they get super busy late in the evening and you will spend lots of time queuing.
We tried:
- Cheese and custard wheel 🧀
- Chicken with soy and honey 🐔
- Eggy bread 🥯
- Crabs 🦀
- Steak 🥩
- Lobster 🦞
- Chicken with soy and honey *2 🍯
Our personal favourite was the Myeongdong market, but they are both worth a visit. It depends on how adventurous you are with food 🧨
