You forgot mentioning Clarisse , Terragen and Mari . Like Nuke , they are also free for non commercial use - I think they should have been mentioned as well. Many people might use them for their portfolio or to get a job.
I sure wish Blender had some competition, like what if Autodesk's cold heart were to melt and made Softimage Free Open Source Software? I mean if they won't care for it anymore, its only fair it should be given away to those willing to maintain it
Ever since I was 5 I had this movie franchise in mind with my toys, I'm 17 now over the years I've Tweaked and altered the movie and I'm genuinely Confident this Story I've written could be on par with The Attack on a Titan Series and Even something Netflix would pick up, But obviously I'm not ignorant and I know the odds of ever getting a theatrical release are Basically 0 so I want to get into 3D Design and Animation so at the very least I can render them in Complete CGI. The only other thing I would have to do is Find Actors and someone could who I could pay to Essentially Create the Soundtrack for the movie.

Thanks! I guess it depends what do you want to use it for. There's many possible applications for Unreal Engine in VFX, and many studios are preparing to adopt it into their pipelines. In time, I think, it will take over some areas of VFX.
I have a quick question Maybe not completely related to this video but Is Autodesk Flame used in the industry like Nuke or Fusion? Is is worth to learn it? And BTW YOUR VIDEOS ARE AMAZING, INFORMATIVE AND I THINK YOUR CHANNEL IS HIGHLY UNDERRATED.

@@VFXGeek loved it ...how simple is it to setup in blender where as in nuke you have to setup projcam, scene and what not.....would love to see some quick tut or detail on blender 2.5 d matte-painting..if possible...thanks in advance
i like so much videos about software recomendations but all the software in this video are very famous, and talk about Blender in every section is......well, would be great if you talk about software less famous like OpenColorIO, and not just say the name else show a little how OpenColorIO works!
Well OpenColorIO is not a stand-alone software. It's more of a workflow tool, integrated into other programs. But definitely an important tool. I agree that most of the mentioned programs are known, but it would be difficult to find unknownw software capable of delivering professional quality, and being free at the same time :) Check out the second part of this video - pipeline tools - maybe you'll find some new software there. @@outsidestudio4229 ah ok so natron is not developped anymore but it still remains a good software especially if you used to nuke. Fusion is an equivalent to nuke but free. I rather use fusion than nuke for freelancing

Python - a lot of the VFX software is using Python, so most pipelines are also handled with this programming language. You can also automate stuff or create custom functionality with Python in Nuke or Blender.
Loved how you categorically avoided Adobe, although Ae is a good particle generation and compositing software. It can compete for low budget stuffs easily.
