that rune shit is actually super amazing for real world reasons. some versions of schizophrenia include a kind of hyper-perceptiveness, where you subconsciously notice little inconsequential things in the world (like a weird tree shadow) and those things take on meaning in your delusions.
Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』 I mean that's one more degree than most here have. I personally rather shit and mess with patt on mistakes and jokes not his education, degrees are hard for most to get especially psychiatry
@@GodAboveAaEOff the top of my head, Norman Bates from Psycho, the mc from Fight Club, and the Joker in some depictions. The main problem with most depictions is that they tack on schizophrenia for characters who are incredibly violent, which does nothing but perpetuate the narrative that people with schizophrenia are inherently violent.
The game is good. What's even more important though is that Ninja Theory is singlehandedly trying to bring back the mid range range game in terms of cost. This game looks great, hell it looks amazing in some part, it has simple but rewarding mechanics, and a really interesting narrative, and it costs thirty fucking bucks. That's laudable, that's much needed pushback against increasingly predatory publishing practices. Ninja Theory really did something good here, get your DMC hating heads out of your asses and recognize that the industry needs more projects like this and more triple A development teams willing to make games that deliver an interesting experience without charging you 60 bucks for it.
Spencer Pommier she is actually from ninja theory and was filling in for the set up of the motion capture and they thought she was right for the role. Decided to go with her instead of hiring someone outside the company.
Nocturne Knight she also suffers from mental issues herself which makes her acting all the more genuine. She did an amazing job with this. Check out the Hellblade Feature in the actual game and it tells you all about that. This is really one of my favorite games
Muspelheim is a considerably vague area in Norse mythology. All that's defined is that fire from Muspell & Ice from Niflheim helped create the world primordial that the Frost Giants came from. It's...presumably sealed off somehow inasmuch as the Lord of Muspelheim, Surtr, only gets out at Ragnarok & uses his bitchin' huge sword to just BURN DOWN THE SKY & THE WORLD ALONG WITH IT. He has some retainers, but no one goes there & no one can leave, so it's mostly just "fiery-place"
Dear, SBFP. If you take the headphone output from a TV (with a "Y" cable) and send the Left and Right audio channels to a mixer, you can output to headphones, in stereo. Just a tip, if you start getting tired of mono splitting.
But if they did that then they wouldn't be able to hear each others bants, _you know like how when you've got headphones in and become stone deaf to everthing else_ ≤/sarc> Also... *Pat* - Wouldn't be able to hear if someone broke in during the LP and was about to stab him with a syringe full of AIDS. *Woolie* - Can't tell left from right anyway. *Matt* might be able to cope I guess?
True. Although, they could send their mic's in to the same mixer so they can hear each other in their headphones, as well. But, that might ruin the vibe.
The "all progress will be lost." Just instantly reminded me of Adventure Time. The Hall of Egress episode. Where every time he opens his eyes he starts over. Lol. Even similar with the door and whatnot. Yeah.....
This is cool. I enjoy games that use their mechanics to make you understand and empathize with a character because it teaches you about other people you couldn't understand in real life. That's a cool thing to do with your work.
After completing this game I can say it's Ninjas first good game well done lads you did it also would love a dark souls game that looked and played like this :p
*"written and directed by tameem" in giant letters right in front of your face* just by the intro i knew this game wasnt for me but they didnt have to hit me in the head with it
the chair is back, but renji won Umm... how exactly is that a bad thing? Didn’t he Write and Direct Enslaved: Odyssey To The West? You know an absolutely Fantastic game.
After my own battles with psychosis, this game really makes me anxious. It's a rather accurate depiction of what can be experienced during that state of mind. I'm actually glad the audio was in mono, cause hearing all those voices around me might of made me have a panic attack. It's pretty torturous when you can't turn off the noise. I stopped taking my medication a while ago cause it affected my work. As well as making everything feel flat and dead. I teeter on the edge of falling back into psychosis, but at least I am myself again. Unfortunately, it means I have to restrain and limit myself more often. To much stress threatens to through me back into the chaos.
I actually fell asleep from those whispers because I'm used to watching ASMR videos. However listening to this game with actual schizophrenia must be a horrible experience.
so do I, and it just made me cringe. it's reddit-tier pandering- "oh you poor little thing, how horrible it must be for you, stay safe, take care of yourself!" by people who feel like they have some kind of moral obligation to treat the mentally ill like shining special lil' snowflakes. they'll pretend they understand and care and dress your illness up in the borrowed clothing of another culture in order to make it seem 'cool' and 'edgy', and they think that it makes them better people- self-serving, self-righteous bullshit. how can you have any respect for the people who exploit your existence as if it's just another art style?
Danny Perez Yeah there's a fine line between pity and actually caring. You can't save everyone. You can't understand everyone. But you can at least make peace or be friends. If you have similar interests etc.
Nah, the best friends already went through stages of hell Indigo Prophecy Heavy Rain Beyond two souls WELCOME IN OMIKRON and what maybe purgatory or the deepest layer of hell, DETROIT
I like that the very first scene in the game you get to stare at the character's hair clipping through them for several minutes in a canned animation gg ninja-theory :^)
more people would complain about it being helblade thinking they misspelled it than taking the time to realize it's norse mythology based...it's less confusing to idiots this way
its interesting how this game forces the player into the right mindset for example observe how woolie avoids walking in the light on the first part of the path and later when he gets into the fire gaints domain how he chooses to walk in on the path with the most shadows
I dont understand the hate for Ninja Theory and Donte da DemOn KillAH in DmC DMC. The game was fantastic and the cutscenes made me laugh like an idiot. My favourite is the fuck-you battle pre boss fight. Truly a masterpiece.
Baldr was invulnerable to everything but mistletoe because his mother made everything take an oath not to cause him harm, everything except mistletoe cause she thought it utterly harmless. Naturally the Norse gods found great sport in hitting the invulnerable dude with their weapons. Then Loki found out about the mistletoe weakness, made an arrow from it, got Baldr's blind brother to fire it fro ma bow, which killed him. Loki was planning on Baldr's brother missing, and announcing how close to death Baldr was. But the blind brother hit the bullseye.
Ok, that lady's voice is legit ASMR material. She should start a channel where she whispers existential, depressing shit in your ears while brushing the hair of child's corpse. Maybe crinkle some dried skin too. She'll fit right in.
FROM THE MAKERS OF THAT GAME THAT HAD GOOD GRAPHICS BUT BAD GAMEPLAY AND THAT GAME THAT HAD DECENT GAMEPLAY BUT BAD EVERYTHING ELSE tbh they've only made only made one good game up to now
6349 256 before DMC reboot, he was a villain with class and honor. Here he was a whiny piece of shit and a smart tech guy, who had a 180 degree turn around on his character at the end for no good reason.........that's not what Vergil is supposed to be.
Richter The D oh fuck.... I forgot they did that, and remember the shitty white haired wig joke at the beginning of the game? God, it was in such bad taste.
Oh yeah, fire giants are totally a thing in Norse mythology. In fact, Surt/Surtr/Surtur, the guy who burns the world to ash at Ragnarok, is a fire giant.
Alright lets see how this game makes Surt/Surtr king of the fire giants look. I have so far seen from dragon looking giant to flame bearded vikking to a busty anime girl. so show me what you got game and don't do big flame shaped giant like he was a 12 foot tall Cinder.
Oh yeah, the game that showed that DSP, Totalbiscuit and Jim Sterling are all about on the same level when it comes to actually playing and reviewing the games.
MSN-04 Sazabi Jim Sterling got a save bug that prevented him from beating it. He gave it a 7 now. The other 2 can be described as one is DSP in general and the other got control of his Twitter back and suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
It's the intro song playing over a 5 minute photoshop job. But it's still more blood, sweat and tears than dsp has put into his already 30 part Hellblade series. It's just amazing to me how little a youtuber could give a fuck about their audience.
Joseph Lien it's just hella amazing to me that someone who seems to have such contempt for his job is such a lazy slacker he continues doing the job he constantly bitches about having to do. I don't like it when people tell him to get a "real job" because RU-vid is a real and demanding job if you are passionate for it, but at the same time they're right for telling him to get a real job because he has no passion at all for what he is doing. I've never in my life seen someone look and sound so miserable playing video games.
watch out for that one game breaking glitch where the auto save traps you in an unwinnable state when you get to the darkness part and you miss that one flame you gotta use to relight your shite.
As a Scandinavian I love that the devs seem to properly use Norse Mythology here, most just do a Tolkien and take bits and pieces and throw it around without really giving a shit. Also I think Senua is a Pict (north scot) since they said that she has to travel east of Orkney (a island in northern britain that was under viking rule during this time), I am quite impressed thus far.
