Kevin, I don't watch a lot of your videos but I just wanted to send you a heartfelt thanks. A while ago you did a video on the rubber plug on top of the trans falling into the rotating clutch assembly of the gen 1's. After seeing your video I kept it in the back of my head to check that plug any time I did an oil level check. Well, today I did an oil check right before I was going to go on a 200 mile trip across the state and sure enough that plug had worked it's way up and halfway into the port and was in danger of falling in. Thanks to you I avoided any potential damage and PITA on a trip so thank you very much!
You may already know this quick tip, but for eurathane lips like this, use tire shine on it after you clean/dry the car, will make the black deep again if it starts to discolor. Learned this with my miata lip
A ceramic coating like Gyeon Trim is a much better solution. Had it on my car for 4 years now and still looks like new without needing a re-application.
This lip looks great and is way more afordable, will definitely consider buying one (still waiting for the car atm, in France the delays for GR86 are insane, 20 months to get one more or less). I really thank you for sharing with us all those great and tasteful mods 👌
My issue is where it meets the bumper. To me it looks like it's for a different car or something. I guess I prefer a design where it's molded to meet the edges of the stock bumper because it looks more like it belongs. Keep up the good work Kev :)
That's clean and subtle and smooth. I used the oem subaru sti lip for my 2018 brz and same words as before. No need to worry about fitment. Looks awesome
The Lip looks great! Keep up the videos, love the amount of things you’ve tried to put on this car to help us build ours. Curious as to how the new exhaust is holding up? Considering the single exit one but am afraid of the tin noise, especially after headers and further performance mods. What are your thoughts?
I like the verus front splitter. I like the rods look, idk why. Wanna get it and eventually remake the splitter out of carbon fiber though and try doing carbon fiber for the first time on a relatively easy mold.
I've seen people complain about the way it looks kind of separated or tacked on to the bumper and less like a natural extension of it but I actually kind of prefer that on darker cars. Like this would look great on my black 86. Hell I think it looks good here it just needs something else on the sides/rear to tie it in better.

Nice looking front lip!! I'd totally rock it and buy right now, however.... judging by the vid my driveway is at a steeper angle than yours so if you barely cleared it with minor scraping then I don't think it'll work for my driveway 😢 Maybe I'm just destined to not be able to install an aero kit. I could do side skirts but I don't think it'll look right without a front lip. Front lip without side skirts would work but the opposite, I think will look odd. What do you think?
Hey family how does she do in these Iowa winters? I’m in Davenport and I literally just copped a gr86 yesterday I love it my only concern is the winters get nasty have you had yours through a winter here yet or no?
If you install this lip and decide to get something else like infamous aero/aeroflow/sayber/etc - would it be hard to install a new one? I feel like the holes wouldn't line up and since you drilled them it'd make it tough
@@ad_182_uk probably not because the tire that comes oem is a 215/35R18 where as with the 17 it’s a 215/45R17. The total diameter is about the same so there would be negligible difference
Hey ive just discovered your channel after purchasing a 2022 GR86 and am in need of some help. Do you happen to know if the last gen 86 rear window, not the sides, louver will fit the gen 2s?
It looks good but, would it fit GR 86 2023 special edition 10th anniversary? Please reply & would you provide me with info on how to go about ordering one also door edge guards and lubbers for rear window thank you,
I think I saw it mentioned, but really didn't dive too far into it. That's still just one more case versus the large amount of cars out there with no issues currently. I'm not too worried about it.
@@KevinVo Can you please make a video on how we can improve the reliability of these cars? I know you’ve already done 2-3 videos on air-oil separators & dual radiators but maybe make 1 video grouping all them together? Like adding a magnetic oil plug, dual radiator/oil cooler, oil baffle plate, catch can, etc. etc.
Why did you buy the GR86 ?...If it wasnt for SUBARU BOXER engine the BRZ/86 Project would never have started...the SUBARU BOXER engine is the heart ❤ of the car...plus...SUBARU are doing all the hard work...and building both 😮😮 !...good to see the BRZ outsells the GR86 at more than 2 to 1 😊
