I thought the same thing, they talk a lot and waste a lot of time, recipe might be good, but video is too long and poorly made, they sound like a bunch of 12 year old kids making a video, I couldn't stand too long of this.
I can't believe I'm sitting in a parking lot of a food store to find out what I need for garlic bread and I chose the video of this guy throwing stuff at his camera man for 45min
Just wanted to say that I made this tonight and it came out great! It was my first time *really* cooking and it impressed my mom and my sister. Thank you so much!
Yes we sell bags of milk in Canada. Comes in one large bag with 3 bags in that bag. We also have a milk bag jug that they sit nicely in. We also have Ketchup flavored chips and say we're "sorry" far too much. Sorry for that...
@@69nites to be fair, when i was in Canada, i met a guy from Quebec who was the nicest dude. My girlfriend managed to lock us out of our RV in -35c and he took us to a hotel to call someone to get us into the RV and took us back to the RV park and stayed with us the whole time. The biggest dick I met was from Toronto, but it probably didn't help that I was talking shit about the Maple Leafs hahaha
I believe I discovered you sometime in 2019 and instantly became a fan. I just now watched this old video and getting to see how much you've grown on the camera is incredible. Also I've made this a few times and its my favorite way to have garlic bread now!!
I love this man. Love his attitude, him throwing everything around. And yes good food takes time to make. If you want something fast and easy just get it at the supermarket. You go Sam!
Don't you get all your food at the supermarket? He didn't grow wheat, grind it into flour and make his bread capturing wild yeast... He went to the supermarket and bought a loaf lol
@asdfghjkl meat can cause cancer might as well not eat it and not eating milk and eggs or other products that contain dairy and stuff like that helps. If you want to stay healthy.
@@hopelovegood8131 ......yeah sure..... You should be a little more precise with your "Meat causes cancer" shit. If you eat a lot, and i mean A LOT red meat the chances of getting colorectal cancer increases by 25%. Sound a bit different huh? Nahh, all meat causes cancer right? .....Fuckin fool.... And you know what is wrong with people like you? Even if someone says he´s eating healthy and is aware of his "footprint" that he leaves on earth, you always start to mock on the meateating.
Love your videos. I’ve been watching a ton of the new ones and then came across this one. Obviously different production than what I’m used to and I thought this was a brand new version of your show. I thought “oh no he’s making this more complicated than it needs to be why did he change anything?” Then looked at the date and was pleasantly surprised to see it was old and that you made your show simpler over the years and have got it down pretty much perfect at this point. Too many shows do the opposite, so thanks! Keep going.
Obviously some viewers don"t Get It. I love how you make it real !! I am going to make this bread .I really enjoy your videos !Thanks for Keeping it Real.
I lived in Israel for 20 years. You buy your milk in a bag. It's delicious milk. And, yes, you put the bag in a pitcher/holder for the bag. You cut a little corner off on top of the bag. That's it ! They also sell little bags of chocolate milk that are so amazingly delicious. I would go into the market, grab a little bag of 'choco' and bite a corner off and suck the fresh delicious ice cold chocolate milk. By the time you got to check out, the little bag was empty - everyone did this. And they were very cheap. Ahhhhh, memories. Missing Israel so much.
Yes, Sam and guys- milk in Canada does come in bags (3 bags each 1.33 litres in a bulk 4 liter carrying bag). And you put one of the bags in a plastic pitcher, cut an opening in the top and store in the fridge.
@@mooonarchh704 my boy, first of all, I'm not a native speaker, I'm aware that the past of "make" is "made", I just didn't pay attention. Second, I myself, have ADHD, it is not an insult, people with ADHD are only different in the way their brains perceive and focus on things, this usually allows them to be extra creative and energetic. Also, are you old enough to be on this website? Don't you have to be 13 or something? Edit: I just realised I did mean "make", fuck you
Mooonarchh h that’s not terribly offensive. I was about to comment on the video “one of my peeps!” Because dude has a severe case of ADHD unmedicated. I am just like this guy when I don’t take my meds.
so first of all i love everything about your show and the people who appreciate you, the time you put into your show, and most importantly people who can appreciate food! will love the "time" it took. thank you for your show, i'm a new subscriber and i love to cook but never really knew where to start. i'm tired of hamburger helpers and everything i grew up eating. so thanks for teaching me new recipes that are easy and absolutely fucking delicious!!♥️♥️
So glad your newer videos are much more concise and to the point than this meandering film school project. Ugh!!! Now don't get all butt hurt with my comment, it's an old video and your newer ones are very good and I'm a big fan of your channel.
Wow, I've NEVER seen you not in your backyard kitchen paradise. This looks amazing. Have you ever tried roasting the garlic first and then add to the butter mixture? So good.
I would have made this recipe over 20 times and I have only received great feedback from my guests. I think it will be hard to make garlic bread any other way again. Thanks Sam and Max, keep up the good work.
Tonight I used 2 flat crescent rolls I didn’t roll up into a crescent shape. They were from a can of refrigerated roll dough. I baked them according to the package directions before adding the garlic bread toppings. They were delicious. Somewhat thin, though that was a nice alternative. The toppings from this video worked out great; fresh minced garlic is really nice, though I omitted the parsley this time. I omitted the salt also. I had salted butter. H. Lloyd
Hey made this last night really easy ingredients I used fresh parmesan shaved cheese & added "Kerrygold garlic & herb butter) w/ the oil & reg. butter a little* put it on the grill w/ the recipe for my wife's favorite grilled chicken~ we love~ use it all the time .. thanks for the laughs & kick ass recipes 😎
Regarding bread, btw. pan cubano, which is trivial to make and toasts amazingly because of the lard in the mix. I also prefer the 4x5 method for cooking it. 450 oven butter side up for four minutes, the flip it over on the sheet butter side down, and lay another sheet on top to press it flat. Then back in the oven for five more minutes. The toasting of the bread and browning+crisping of the butter is *perfect* . Try it.
Yes. U can buy milk in bags which u place in a milk jug which u cut/slice a spout to pour it out, but some dairies went rogue and started selling in plastic jugs so now most places sell in jugs or cartons. I still see bags in eastern Canada but not so much in the west.
You guys rock! This video completely changed the way I look at garlic bread in literally the best way, I cannot ever again touch store bought garlic bread.
in ontario canada we get out milk in bags. you buy a bag which contains 3 individual bags and they equal up to 4 litres. we then put en individual bag into a pitcher meant to hold the bag and you pour
Sam...you talked about a coloured pitcher, which you have seen. In Asia, such a coloured plastic pitcher was originally a “toothbrushing mug” used by the lower-income group in China, India and many Asian countries very long ago. Then, this plastic toothbrushing mug evolved into a multipurpose big mug, mostly used to scoop water and storage in and out of the kitchen. Your assistant was correct in saying about “drinks in plastic bags”. In many Asian countries, roadside stalls selling drinks often put the drinks (mostly cold) into small plastic bags, tie it partially shut with a string, and stuck a straw into it. However, it was impossible to securely rest such a plastic bag on any surface. Hence, many Asians like to put that drink-filled bag into a small plastic bowl or that “plastic pitcher” you mentioned😃
In 1973 I was sent to Thailand for 1 year and 1 day. My first 3 months were in Korat, a truely beautiful city. Then 9 months in Udorn Thani RTAFB, every week I traveled by train ot bus to Udorn Thani before I was reassigned . When the train would pull into the station the vendors would converge to sell their wares, Sodas and Iced coffee were offered in thin plastic bags because they wanted to return the bottles for deposit, and no zip locks, a twisties tie or just a knot at the top of the bag.
This is so good thanks for sharing. I’d love to see from scratch garlic bread can’t find one with homemade bread and garlic butter. But your garlic butter is perfect
Holy shit, I just made this for the fam and it was an INSTANT hit! Thanks so much for sharing this awesome recipe, Sam! Definitely one that'll stay in my recipe book forever! 😎👍🏻
Before this video was made, Switzerland sold milk in plastic bags (uses less plastic than other packaging materials) and for just a little more than the price of 1L of milk, you can buy a pitcher which holds your bag of milk. The firdges will hold 3 bags at the bottom of the door. To use, you cut off the front and back corners at the top and thats it.
Karen Markey Yes, that makes it even more delicious, it’s a great browning agent. Another excellent recipe to try is the “Gilroy Garlic Bread” recipe. It comes from Gilroy, the garlic capital. When I make it, everyone loves it. When I’m invited to a dinner party, the hosts always asks me to bring it!
I will ONLY make my own garlic bread! I really like this video, but I watched it BEFORE the alfredo, going to check that one out next. I made your simple 8 minute Shrimp Scampi the other night and it was absolutely ridiculous! Thanks Sam, keep up the great content!
PLEASE Read THIS!!! I recently separated from her husband… He always make the garlic bread. I made it for our family Christmas party 17 people. I followed your recipe exactly except for olive oil I forgot. Everyone is seriously raving! Raving about it!!! My sister’s whole family lives in San Diego and we are definitely coming to your restaurant very soon. Folks! You must make the garlic bread exactly as he tells you!
Yes! Sam you are completely correct about the container that holds the bag of milk in Canada. I saw it on Glens cooking channel. It sure you’ve ever saw his channel, it’s not at all funny or nearly close to your deliciousness content... it’s very, Canadienne or what people think Canadien people are like. Too “nice” for my taste but I like to learn about different recipes. Anyway I saw it there. I love that you are kind of dark and that you swear a lot. But your food, is epic!
This video is 7 years old, and still just as good as if it were made today. You know what else is 7 years old? My memory of actually being able to eat bread without my gut screaming at me! (It's a gluten thing) I sure do miss eating bread! And this garlic bread looks epic!!! For now, I live vicariously thru Sam's videos! Someday I'll be eating bread again, (I'm determined!) and THIS is how my first piece will be made!!
Bagged milk is a thing. I'm Canadian. Milk either comes in bags or in like cardboard cartons. You do occasionally see it in a plastic jug like the states but not too often. I think though the bag milk night be more of an Ontario thing however.
Greasy buttery simple garlic bread add more garlic pepper and capers. Let it rest before broiling to allow flavor soak down into bread like a smoke ring on a waygu
I’m going to try it your way, you showed up on my recommendations. I almost do the same but I add a tablespoon of Roasted garlic Better than bouillon into my butter. (A Tbsp goes a long way. I know it’s not 100% fresh and I’m just a home cook of a family of 6 but it’s so good. Thanks for the recipe!
I couldn't understand how a garlic bread video was 17 minutes long. After watching, it made sense. BTW, grind the garlic with a mortar & pestle, using unsalted butter and, about halfway through, some Kosher salt, to help it grind into a paste. Melt your butter in a double boiler, throw the garlic and some olive oil in, let it go for about 20 minutes, stirring a couple times. Put it in a container in the fridge, set a timer for about 30 min and check on it. When it starts to solidify, stir it well so the garlic solids don't all wind up at the bottom. Not only does this make amazing garlic bread, but if you use half 'popping oil' and half this stuff in a regular oil popcorn maker, it makes killer popcorn. You can fry or scramble eggs in it, use it as a basis for a compound butter, and it keeps in the fridge for quite a while. I typically use about 25 grams of peeled garlic and 2 sticks of unsalted butter; maybe a quarter cup of light olive oil? I will be using your additions the next time I make garlic bread.
12:19 Camerman: I don't think there's such a thing as too simple Sam: idk, look, there are definitely are things that people should know right? Camerman: uhhhh..
Sam your incredibly entertaining. My wife and I love your you tube channel. I cooked your fish and chips the other night....one word... Awesome. ...Thanks for being here. I’m a fan.
Iam glad i found ur channal Sam u make your cooking 🍛so natural its what we all go threw in the kichen when we cook something and the dogs🐕 i love💞 how they walk around to pick up on and piece of food that falls on the floor😂😂😂😂
Good video. Yes you can get milk in a bag in Canada but not all of Canada has it. It comes with 3 bags of milk and it goes into the container you mentioned.
I think it's funny, people complain about a 17 minute vid on how to make garlic bread. The same people probly spent 30 minutes to an hour trying to find a video how to make garlic bread, or waited longer in line at a store to buy some crappy version there of. I for one was entertained, thank you Sam
Just started watchinq you. Enjoyed a couple of your recipes already.Have to ask though ,why the pre- shredded parm?? How much better would this be with freshly grated parm instead?
Mexico used to sell bags of milk, and when you buy a soda at the store you can ask to place it in a bag with a straw. Those were the good old days (1990’s)
