I have been learning to do my own nails since prices have basically tripled in my area. I remember when a full set was $40 and fill ins were $15-$20. I could get a full set and pedi for $80. My husband and I have been talking about me going back to school to learn to do nails professional so I can get my certificate. He said he will make me a nail salon at our house. I think I am going to take him up on his offer. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
It is ridiculous!!!! What is your opinion on gel x nails??? I have been wanting try them however the allergic reactions people have been having scares me. Has anyone tried the Sistaco nail polish??? I want to try it but it is expensive, but all the reviews talk about how easy it is and how others love it….,
@shannonwhitfield8943 I didn't like gel x when I tried them. I just taught myself to do acrylic. They last much longer. Everyone is different tho. If u do acrylic I suggest using kiara sky cause they are hema free which prevents allergic reactions!!! I think they also have a full cover tip line with a bunch of options! I've heard of sistaco but I've never tried them just cause the prices really.
@shannonwhitfield8943 & All We should boycott them & look for cheaper places, they are just trying to get over. It's horrible, they over charged my friend & she called them out on it, then they lowered the price.. You always have to ask first, how much, so they don't scam & that's basically what they're doing scamming. They're not in Hollywood. People really have too start speaking up to them ! ! ! They will start losing business. Will you be charging decent prices ? 🙂 You'll get All their business ! 👍🕊️🗽🎉 Best wishes to you ! ! ! Go for it ! ! !
Nicely done. Just a heads up, Gel X is a trademarked products from Apres. Not an application technique or service. This is a full cover gel tip application.
Thank you for clearing this up! I was super confused when seeing a video that would say GelX but no products used had the name included so I was like wait, what is GelX then??! Lol
I actually didn't know this!! I thought it was an application technique similar to the *ACTUAL APRES GEL X* system and that was why everyone called it Gel X because its similar to the original system but not said system. This is the first time I've seen someone point this out. Interesting…🤔🤷🏾♀️
👏🏻 , and polygel is not the name of a technique as well, it's actually the name of the product! HYBRID GEL, is the actual name of what everyone calls "polygel"
In cosmotology school text book, I saw you should not apply primer to tip as it can make the tip more brittle and prone to breaking. In other scenarios, it can melt or discolor the tip
The primer she uses is specifically for tips. It chemically etches them. Instead of buffing with an efile. These are made out of gel, not plastic like other tips, so they will react differently to different solvents.
I would suggest to purchase a brand that is HEMA free though as if you are a beginner there is more chance of you making contact with your skin while learning how to apply these products. If you pick a HEMA free product and you touch you skin accidentally there is less chance of developing allergy!
i have actually have a full tutorial vid on my channel with the same kit and in the description I put a doc with links to everything, idk if that might help you guys find what you need :)
In my experience with full cover tips, applying the glue gel to the nails and NOT curing works way better and it helps eliminate air bubbles which helps adhesion
@@Mommy_Moss she means a slip layer on the natural nail and then applying the tip and then curing instead of putting the gel on the tip. It's getting cured but just not immediately instead a half a minute later after the tip is on..(if you'd work with hard gel you'd understand what it is, you don't use a base coat and cure it for builder/hard gel, but rather you apply a very very thin "slip layer" where you want the gel to go and then build your first layer and only then do you cure. It's like a base without curing because hard gel bonds to gel so well) imo experience when it comes to full cover tips the best results are when you do both a slip layer and a dab on the tip if you're using thin glue gel but for the ultimate use a thicker formula or a solid - you can't go wrong with the solid or you can use polygel or builder gel imo those are the best for beginners especially and the great part is you can use whatever color you'd like for your background or even do a marble or design with the poly or colored builder gel. It makes everything much easier
Just please give proper advices I am kind of tired seeing something & then next second backed up with facts that's actually dangerous! Just put out proper, safe, professional advice for beginners please! Seriously 😒😳💯
I use a big lamp just fine to cure my nails and I don't have problems with bubbles. Just lay your lamp on its side that's flat. Normally the side of where hand goes in for curing is the side to stand the lamp up. Been doing this for years just fine 🎉🎉😀 No problems! Enjoy and save money 🤑💰. No need to go buy a small flash curing lamp!
@@rm.makes.me.smile_ Yeah you have to face it away from you of course or use one of the gloves that people have nowadays for gel manicures that covers your entire hand besides your nails.
@@CallmeQuayZ my lamps are curved too and this is how I use my lamps. It's really not that hard. Just flip it in the side that's flate and it lays perfect by standing it up this way. Look it up on RU-vid since you seem to be on here. I'm sure someone else can explain to you what I'm talking about if you can just look it up yourself. There's many ways to use your LED lamps. This is how I figured out how to use mine in different ways because I found it on RU-vid years ago. I thought it was a pretty smart idea especially with people that can't afford buying different lamps all the time. Have a wonderful day! ✌🏽🌼😁
Yeah I get using the same video across all your platforms but wish they'd take the extra step and put the actual link in description on all of them. Kinda lazy imo
I must say the Finish touch is absolutely positively gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous you did an amazing job at Immaculate job!!!!!!!! This things like this are exactly why I subscribe to this channel exactly why thumbs-up triple thumbs up quadruple thumbs up to you!!!!!
Anyone got any tips. I bought the same kits I buff my nails and the tips and do dehydrater and primer and have followed tips on other people videos however the nails only last for a couple days then come off. I dont have bubbles when I apply them and do all the prep yet they always fall off. Anything I'm doing wrong
Great job. Have never had good luck with Beetles since they first came out. I feel like they are trash. It could be just the formula. Not working with my nails. Again nice job.
Can you do a video showing us how you get that PERFECT shape on your nails. I just can’t get that beautiful tip shape and no way can I get them all to match like yours do. They look stunning!! I have problems getting the nails pointing straight when doing my own, if I file with my fingers bent pointing towards me once I straighten my hand out the nails end up being files pointing to one side! I just can’t find a way to file them so that I know the point of the nail is pointing straight. I hope this makes sense!! 😊
Honestly, it's all about practice. I've been doing my own nails for 3 years and in the begging they were bad. But I kept practicing and now they look great. Also take your time, don't rush!
I will NOT be buying from beetles after hearing everybody say it gave them an allergic reaction and now they were permanently allergic to almost everything
I would be very careful with beetles it will cause an allergy if you misuse the product. It gave me an allergy. Please wear your gloves guys, I know they are annoying but have to learn to work with them on. Rather be safe than sorry!
Can someone tell me how to take these off? If the press on or nail tip is over the gel, how can you soak it off? I really want to try this, but I'm also unsure of how I'd get them off.
I absolutely can do this under a big lamp 😂. I just take the bottom off the lamp and put it at the edge of my table and proceed that way. This method has never failed me lol
I dont recommend these. I use to use apres gel x and after a little over a year i developed an allergic reaction to the point of i can't even wear press ons because they also cause allergic reactions now too and my dr tells me it was from whatever is in the glue in the gel x that all the brands have in it.
Beetles is an incredible nail company! All of their products have been amazing. The quality is as good as the known premiere nail company that began the gel tip phenom but 1/4 of the price!👍😁💅🏼
I did binge watching on gel ex and ect and ended up buying a beetles kit great for beginners im still learning I can’t get my nails tj last a full week without popping off
When I got polygel, when it first came out, those suckers would pop right off literally minutes after I put them on. Is this similar? Is it really easy for these to pop off and if they break do they break your natural nail like acrylics do? Should I also get a nail drill?
Gel X stays pretty long if applied properly. Mine can last me 3 weeks to a month. You don’t necessarily need a drill but it comes in handy when buffing out your nails and the tips. I’ve honestly bent a nail before and didn’t break.
I've been using polygel on my natural nails for 7 months now. No lifting, only fills every 3-4 weeks. It's much tougher than full cover tips. When you prep your nails, lightly sand the nails only to remove any shine. Once they are nice and clean, use a stiff manicure brush to get the dust off. Next, wet that brush with alcohol to remove more dust and to dry out the oils on your nails. Apply Dehydrator ONLY on your nail, AVOID THE SKIN, after a minute, apply Primer, after another minute add your gel basecoat, CURE then you can apply your polygel right on top. You got this! Good luck. *disclaimer; this is what works for me. Not one nail has popped off*
All down to the prep with polygel. I had the same when I first used polygel. Then I decided to do a nail technology course. Learned so much. Now I own a salon and have clients. Hobby started back in 2019. 2022 I started my course. Worth the money as I learned so much about nails and not just systems.
RU-vid don’t allow shorts over 60s. And I have so much info to give so I try to compress it. I also have a long RU-vid video that goes in-depth. I take slower there!
