Oh, this ancient type of music that was played at the second christmas market was part of the soundtrack from the film „drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel“ (three hazelnuts for cinderella). That film is one of the most popular fairytale films that is repeated for years on German TV during Christmas times. Definitely a must see for little princesses like Willa and their lovely mums❤️❤️

So enjoyable! Stollen sold in groceries often have marzipan in them. I don't like that too much. But there is another variety with apple filling. Which I learned from a colleague from Dresden is a local variety. And that was the best in my view. A relative of the Apfelstrudel.

Well, it is not the oldest but one the oldest Christmas markets in Germany. In Germany there is a long tradition of Christmas markets in almost every city, where mainly Christmas handicrafts, sweets and food are offered. Also of interest are the traditional or smaller, magical Christmas markets such as the Reiterlesmarkt in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the Christmas market in the Ravennaschlucht or the Nüremberg Christkindlesmarkt. The Dresden Striezelmarkt is one of Germany's oldest Christmas market and will open its doors for the 588th time in 2022. You read that right, this Christmas market has mostly been held on the Altmarkt in Dresden during Advent since 1434. But he is not alone in this, the Munich Christmas market was first mentioned in 1310, when it was still called Nikolausmarkt and the Stuttgart Christmas market was first mentioned in 1692.

Striezel in the area of Dresden means Stollen and they send them from Dresden to every part around the world. Nice that you made it, the Erzgebirge is also very famous for Christmas, Annaberg Buchholz is lovely at this time and also Seiffen. I love to see you all trying the food, even Willa is not afraid to try something new and that's incredible. The Semper Oper, the Zwinger and the Frauenkirche are really cool, there is a reason why the nickname of Dresden is Elbflorenz named after the Italian city Florence. Wish you a nice third advent 🕯️🕯️🕯️ If you like it and you really get the chance to buy a Stollen from Dresden, then please don't miss the chance.

Kassler also works really well with red cabbage, Rotkohl in German. The pop of the sausage gets me everytime. Careful when eating Käsewiener (Vienna Sausage filled with Cheese, can be bought at LIDL) as you might get shot with hot cheese, lol. Dresden has some really spicy mustard, so I think this might be Bautzner Senf. Striezel isn't spoken with an "ei" sound. It is more the other way around, a longated "e" sound. Strie-zel. I hate raisins in Stollen, so I am glad there are versions without it. Stollen works really well as a soft bread replacement. Especially with butter or jam.

Good choice to try the Original, fresh Dresdner Christstollen! I remember back in the times when Germany was divided, our relatives from Dresden sent us a paket of Dresdner Christstollen (we lived in the Rhineland, west Germany). I dont like the smell but its part of every christmas market. The one in Nuremberg is more packed as far as I remember. I bet the musicians are traditional miners from the Erzgebirge which is well known for their wooden handcrafts and watch industry. You also did a trip to the Spreewald ? Hope you have bought some of the varieties of cucumber for which the Spreewald is famous for. At least always good to see Willa enjoy all the food, chocs and I am sure be impressed by all the lights. great vid. Never made it to Dresden myself, so far, so thanks for taking us. Pls allow a little comment. The meaty ingredient in your second dish "Kassler mit Sauerkraut i nBrotlaib" is not a sausage, I am afraid. The Kassler is actually a piece of neck or rip or shoulder, salted and pre-cooked most of the times. they cut it in litle pieces and put it into the Kraut, I suppose... But you did find the very best christmas market dishes to be found... A homemade Stollen f.e. is not at all comparable to the supermarket junk blessings and all love from the Frankfurt area! PS: a little hint for next year: in a village called Siegburg near Bonn they have an ancient/medieval style christmas market which is incredibly cute and full of atmosphere. you might want to check out their web appearance under "historischer Weihnachtsmarkt Siegburg"; they also offer some programme and performances for the whole family around

Und auf dem Aachener Weihnachtsmarkt je nach Stand kostet der einfache Flammkuchen zwischen 12,50 und 14 €. Einfach Wahnsinn! 😳😥😥😥

Guys, you need to learn the correct pronunciation of German words. Rule #1: There is no random pronunciation of diphtongs as in the English language. Rule #2: "i" is always [e]. Either short as in king, villa, Justin when there is only "i": mit (with), in (in); or long when written with like "ie" as in freeze, meat, sheet: "viel" [feel] (many/much), Riese (giant) [reezah], or even Striezel... [stree-tsell...]

You have no idea of the downsides of an eSIM, do you? It's a privacy nightmare. But you do you. Just don't recommend such things to people. Same is true for 99% of VPN providers.

Dude. You must not get invited to many events. "Do you realize you killed the wholesome vibe?" And that you've probably never procreated or raised a child over 18?
