Hi! We are Tanner, Risa, Willa & Noa! We are a little expat family living in Japan with the goal to have more meaningful travels + lasting memories in our life. We originally moved from Utah, USA to Germany where we spent almost 3 beautiful years in Europe. With so many new cultures, religions, landscapes, and foods to experience, we immersed our ourselves into the European ways of life and explored one country at a time. Japan is our current home and one we have loved getting to know! This is us documenting our experiences as a little travel family! We hope that you will be inspired to live the fullest life you want. Thank you for following our journey!
What part of Japan were they hunting for apartments? (Japan Sea, east side, Pacific Ocean or southern Japan?) The modern second home, the environment and other homes were unlike the typical Japan it was fantastic. Watching another video I got a hint of the area: Zushi, Mt.Fuji, Sushi (?).😅
Candy isles... have you tried the chocolates? Unless your taste is much different from mine, the chocolates in the cheapest grocery store here are beyond the high end in most US stores...
Sorry for the late comment! I am in a place with only occasional internet and limited mobile data from my side. I love, love, love all teh exploring you do! Taking notes for the future and keeping the jealousy in check. :) Go see everything, please!
Those places are so worth seeing. Be to all of them a few times and every time I go, I see something new. The key is the time of the year to go. For me late Sept. to Oct.( less tourists ) is the best time to go.Love the German countryside and it's people.
my gramps ate a ton of it, every saturday morning 3-4 mettbrötchen with sharp onions, butter and a lot of salt&pepper, dude died with 104....the good die young, i guess xD
A fruit sandwich with just a thin fruit slice pasted on the side. A small hamburg in a large container.A drink printed on the side of the cup so that the content is small. After shareholders started interfering with management, 7-Eleven bento boxesbecame bad. It's too bad. So it has become a Japanese internet meme and is a joke. Raised prices and lowered quality for short-term profits. I want English RU-vidrs to bash the 7-Elevens Japan as crap.
Why is it illegal to eat whales? The United States killed many whales just to use only whale fat! The United States threatened to open a port in Japan to catch whales. Esski is also eating whales! In Korea, which opposes whaling, more than 2,000 whales are captured a year.
Be careful with the birds. There is a kind of hawk that attacks people in the area. Do not eat anything in unprotected areas. Always try to find a roof under which to eat. According to Wikipedia it is called "black kite" or とんび in Japanese. I love Enoshima, and I go there quite frequently. I like to walk all the way from Enoshima to Kamakura. There is a quite steep flight of stairs on the way to the cave. Better than any gym!
I'm Japanese who lives in Seattle for 23 years. I love 711 in Japan and I miss it so much. I'm really disappointed 711 in US. No progress in last 23 years!
The music you listened at Yokosuka Chuo Station, the title is "The Yokosuka Story"(横須賀ストーリー) by Momoe Yamaguchi in 1976. This was one of the greatest hit music in 1970s in Japan. @@OurStorytoTell Furthermore, songs at Keikyu stations are characterized by the fact that the singer is from the area or that the lyrics are set around the station. I'll leave some examples and I hope you enjoy your stay in japan. But the music at Shinagawa Terminal in Tokyo and Haneda Airport T1/T2 stations are from Keikyu's advert song, "Akai densha"(the Red Trains) by Quruli. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6VbrbcXp3Fc.htmlsi=ThNBrU99j5AP_4hq "Natsu-iro" by Yuzu(1998) for Kamiooka Station. Wait! You mean you don't eat steak tartare in the US? 😮 By the way, I don't know why they served it with fries. Here in Austria it always comes with toasted bread and butter, so you can use the tartare as a spread (of course after having mixed all ingredients together!!!). 🙂
Thank you for taking me back to Enoshima and Shounan area! Your video brought me back so many good memories. It looked like you guys had a great time there! Can't wait for your next adventure!
Wauw that was an Adventure but looked a Beautiful place to visit 😊😊. Hows Willa Enjoying her New school ? Hope her Foot is healing. . Have a lovely weekend take care 🥰
I love visiting supermarkets in other countries 😅 you just never know what you might find 😜 The Egg & Strawberry sandwiches looked so Fluffy see a few others try them ( i follow a few FA out USA. They had a few Trips to Japan. They tried those sandwiches was a Great hit with them plus very quick and convenient Snack 😜) Great video 🥰

Wauw the Footage was just Breathtaking 😍.
Aww your patents & Sister were having a lot of fun , it’s lovely they got a cross to visit you all 🫶. ( just catching up with your videos. Had some internet issues ). Have a good weekend 🥰
Enoshima looks pretty cool. When you mentioned the Willa flashback with Noa, I'm trying to imagine you having double Willa energy in a couple of years. 😁
Lovely trip, but I confess the crowds of people would have triggered my anxieties! But the landscape is really awesome there! And I guess it is hard to find a "calm" place in Japan anyway, unless you go for a hike in the woods :) Love!
Looks like the family had a great day out 🙂 We also really enjoy exploring that area (except for the packed weekend traffic...) Had a chance yet to visit the Chiba peninsula? We've driven around the seaside via the Aqua-line (which is impressive in it's own right), though we were too late to take the Nokogiriyama ropeway that day. Curious to try again with a daytrip via the Tokyo Bay Ferry.
Oddly enough, with its rugged, lush, hilly terrain and stunning beach and tidal areas, it reminds me of the Western Cape coastline of South Africa, the Sydney, Australia area coastline and the Bay of Biscay coastline in Spain! It sure must have been refreshing to go somewhere to soak in nature after spending so much time dealing with the Tokyo to Hiroshima megapolis. It seems the vendors and the other patrons were very polite and patient to you parents with small children( which is a great boon for visitors to Japan). Yeah, it sure seemed as though the girls were eager to literally soak in the tidal pools but they didn't seem to raise too much of a fuss to your parental edicts against it. That's good. More amazing shots on your part capturing the sheer natural and cultural beauty of that island. I hope one day you may be able to market and perhaps earn a good living off your gift. Thanks so much for this!
this place remind me of North Africa (Tunisia) , the good thing there is no much people there , so you can enjoy the sea without tourist even Airbnb are very cheap
If you're looking for more island adventures, maybe for a weekend trip, you could look into the Izu islands. They are - for some reason - part of Tokyo prefecture and as such easily and relatively inexpensive to reach by ferry. They are a bit less touristy and offer a lot of nature and, of course, beaches. Noa is getting so big, I can hardly believe my eyes. Do you still have that toddler backpack?
Have you seen our itinerary?? 😉 We actually head there soooon! We are so excited based on the pictures so really thanks for that great suggestion! And yes we do and we are going to pull it out soon 🥹
Wow! So glad you enjoyed Enoshima , it was one of my favourite experiences of Japan. Your video brought back some good memories, plus more that I didn’t see. Thank you for sharing 🙏
If it's not red like ketchup there's a 90% chance it's red beans. I've had so many instances of digging into a snack expecting ketchup or barbeque and was greeted with...red bean paste.
Ooh that would be so interesting if the cucumber had red bean paste on it!! It was really bright in color. The taste didn't seem like red bean paste, but what do we know lol!?
6:09 It's not red bean paste. The answer is a plum paste that's already @tk-iw4pe said. I think @OurStorytoTell perhaps have seen small read plum pickles called umeboshi in rice balls, japanese style meals and bentos. That red pastes with cucumbers was umeboshi pastes. You can buy them in spice sections of grocery stores.
Good morning. You're really Lucky to be in that area. You have nice trips around you. I always prefer the sea over mountains. Lovely. Can't wait for the next episode. Greetings 🌹💓
