Got a pair of Eccos - they crucified my feet for months, and took an age to wear in. Once worn in they were very nice, but not sure they were worth the pain when Skechers and UA are comfy out of the box.

Been in ZG21 BOAs, Tour 360 XT-SL BOAs, and Codechaos for the past few years. Looking at grabbing some new codechaos BOAs since they finally stopped doing it in that silly hightop version.

I found Under Armour Drive One golf spikes at a Ross for under $40 and i LOVE them. that was almost 5 years ago but i keep going back to them

Last two pairs of shoes I got were on close out so the price was reduced and they are comfortable. One being Footjoy and the other being Callaway and these are very light and comfortable. I kinda like the new G4s though.

The question for myself 're spiked shoes which you are likely to wear in damper conditions? How easy are they to keep clean and in good condition? I would have thought it was one of the main considerations?

Brilliant video mate just wondering have you tried the new “cole haan zero grand overtake golf shoe? Am hearing good things about them for comfort up against the Ecco and they look nice aswel plus there around £130. Love to see your thoughts on them 👍🏻

I got last year's model of the HOVR in November and the leather starter to crack badly and peel around the front of the shoe after only 6-7 months use. Doesn't fill me with confidence about under armour

Thanks for the video - I am looking for a new pair of shoes so is very helpful. I like the look of the Ecco shoes but my issue is that I have a wide foot (G fit in dress shoes) but these Ecco come in 'regular' fit only. In your experience would they fit if I buy half a size bigger (10 instead of 9.5)?

In my experience, the Eccos are excellent if you have wide feet. I didn't mention it in the video, but you can actually remove the insole to gain some more width and the underfoot comfort stays the same. So despite only being available in regular there is extra room to be had. I think you'd be fine if you went half a size up and they wouldn't be too long on the toe. Hi Dan how long does the team at GM reckon pair of golf shoes should last. I find that the "studs" on my spineless shoes wear down to almost nothing in maybe 18 months The upper is fine but the studs are significantly worn. Did any of the manufacturers provide any insights Enjoyed the video. Cheers

Hi Peter, thanks for your comment. I don't have an exact answer for you unfortunately as I guess lifespan depends on how many rounds of golf you play in a year. It's not something I'd thought of when doing my reviews so thanks for bringing it up and next time I meet with the manufacturers I'll try to get some insight on outsole lifespan and be sure to add that to my future content - Dan

No one does a long term test. Not many of us can buy new shoes every 6 months but that is all I get out if footjoys. The get replaced under warranty but then when they go again nothing. UA have been much better long term.

Some of the shoes say waterproof but have returned many shoes after wet socks playing in the morning on wet grass, not even raining.

Agreed. Why don't golf shoes last longer. I've had two pairs of Ecco recently and they leaked like a sieve, both in heavy dew. The waterproof guarantee isn't worth a jot. I've had waterproof walking shoes for years that still keep out rain.

Haven’t watched the video in entirety, but sadly I’ve rarely been able fto find any shoes that go beyond size 47/8. If anyone has got any tips, I’d love to hear them.

The Go Golf Drive 5 was very nearly featured but it wasn't quite as good as the five spikeless models I eventually chose. It's still a very good spikeless shoe though with all the Arch Fit benefits I mentioned in the video. Am not a fan of cleated spikes as they are more difficult to clean compared to the old single metal or ceramic spike .

For me, Footjoy are far to narrow, Sketchers need to be ar least one half/two sizes bigger so you walk around like Alladin. For me Ecco still leader in either optons, you get what you pay for, remember you are in these shoes for around 4 hours

I think lists like these should have a 'size availability' category to judge them on as well. As someone with larger feet (UK 13), according to nearly all of these brands I might as well not exist which is BS if you ask me...

I find that buying one size Larger is best. Because the feet expand during the round. Next, the spike less shoes are just so much easier to live with. (Speaking from the perspective of a typical weekend ‘club’ golfer…

The Ecco are nice for sure... But none of these give you what the Athalonz EnVe gives you, I always hit further with unique planted feel every time I wear them. They actually do what some of these other brands *cough-Sqairz* claim to. Probably why so many Long drivers and Champions Tour guys wear them

I only buy leather shoes now, but not Ecco as the leather loses its colour quickly, also my big toe nail goes through the gortex lining rendering them useless in less than a year. Slowly moving back to spiked, as wear effects the grip on spikeless. First time out with Footjoy Packard yesterday, all good up to now.

My most expensive spikes shoe I've purchased were the Sqairz which I still wear! The most expensive spikeless shoe I purchased and loved were the Echo's! I've bought 2 pair of the Under Armor with spikes and that's my go to shoe's other than my Sqairz depending on my outfit! 🐊🏌🦅🇺🇲❤️
