Brilliant love to here it .Young Tom has to be the best golf instructor on the planet .complete logical practical demonstrations .and anatomically correct .as Young Toms take away and follow through has the arms - shoulders -wrists -hips -legs -feet - all working in the correct sequence far more power and control .and minimises injuries .I have said before if Young Tom had been Tigers coach .safe to say Tiger would Not have the injuries he has suffered

Well, Redfella, if they're not seeking SG out then it is their loss - as in losing matches to you and others who have subscribed to this system.... 😎 I sincerely appreciate the kind words, referrals, and support, and I'm very glad to learn of your ongoing progress! Keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Cheers, Tom PS: If any of your fellow club members wish to get on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, sequential platform, then please encourage them to look into the online school as it will make for a far more efficient, superior, and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. The school is where they will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99 US/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what one gets for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Thanks again!

When I first started playing golf I hit the ball good . I took a few lessons thinking they would help me . But what they did was put my hands high and in positions that my body didn’t like. Finally found your channel and went back to the club moving around my body again after two years and it’s crazy how much more consistent I am
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 8 месяцев назад
Sadly, Bobby, so many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). I’m doing my best here to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness, and I am very glad to know that my instruction in this regard is resonating with you! Thanks so much for sharing your improvement and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom PS: By the way, since my channel's content is performing well for you, I think you will also benefit from my FREE mini course - “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” - where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner. Comments like that remind me of my boss and another employee who were very good players but wanted to improve by going to a golf school for a few days in Myrtle Beach. It tied them both in knots, completely paralyzed and they just could not do the swing these folks were teaching.

the "golfswing" is not a circle, your handpath, and the clubhead travels on two mirrored fibonacci spiral segments, with a straight line between them - thats the thing - If everything goes the way it should ;) - its not magic, its physics, anatomy and geometry - and a fair bit or neuro psycology :) GREAT video!

Well, as I routinely share with folks, this body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Tom, I'm going to be 58 in a few weeks, didn't start golfing until mid 30s (TOTAL regret on waiting so long). I typically shoot mid 80s to mid 90s, very inconsistent. I have a tendency to sway and hit a TON of fat shots, then thin, etc. VERY inconsistent. I live in IL & we are nearing the end of the season, but after stumbling onto your videos a couple weeks ago, I'm not letting the weather stop me now! YOU ARE A GODSEND!!! Last week I started with the weight forward, left shoulder down towards ball, straighten back leg on backswing w/R elbow in.....OMG!!!! I am hitting my irons so crispy! I am now hitting balls that are so pure it doesn't feel like you hit a ball, the balls are exploding off the face, divots are AFTER the ball consistently for first time ever, high ball flights with a slight draw.....I am in heaven thanks to you! I still have a clunker now and then, and am still working on the driver and woods. But I'll figure those out. I haven't played with my buddies in a few weeks, and I can't wait to play them again and show them the differences. They will be shocked! Thank you again and you can count me among the THOUSANDS of just normal, everyday golfers that you have helped. I normally do not comment on videos, so that should tell people how strongly I feel about you and your videos/tips/help! I just came back to work after a lunchtime at the driving range after the best session I've had there in my life! Thanks and enjoy the coming weekend!
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 8 месяцев назад
That is OUTSTANDING, Mike!! 💪💪 I'm so glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing!! With regard to the driver and woods, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o0xscMyN3v8.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content. Upon learning this swing properly you will be harnessing the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". This is the reason my students and online school members of all age ranges end up bombing it farther than they ever had previously. Thanks so much for your support in sharing your crispy compressed ball striking, keep up the fantastic work, and have fun out there showing off the "new you" to your buddies!! Tom PS: I understand the season will soon be coming to a close up there, but perhaps in advance of next spring you might consider enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. @Blake - please let me know if you digress or end up having a bad round or two. And can you do his swing on a mountain course with uneven lies? I to shot my best - a 76 -then an 80 but then went to an uneven course and shot a 98. Now I am not sure if I should continue this method
@BlakeTeachesGolf
@BlakeTeachesGolf 7 месяцев назад
@@lukelacasse6412 one of the main courses I play at has pretty severe uneven lies on a fair share of holes. His teachings and methods work PERIOD. It takes an understanding to know how to set up for the different lies for sure. But you need to put some quality time in rehearsing the lead arm straight/weight forward/ right elbow tucked in etc. and hitting some balls to get a feel/understanding of his methods and how they feel to you. The quality of strike and consistency is night and day to where I was before. My ball striking is arguably the best part of my game and it was a weakness before Tom’s teachings. I know S&T isn’t for everyone but what I was doing wasn’t working for me before. If I make a bad swing now it’s cuz I make an error I.e. wanting to lash/hit the ball or getting quick in my transition. It’s not due to poor fundamentals or setup. When I trust it and not let my brain takeover the swing it’s pure, effortless, and like nothing else. Every golfer is different and some days your strengths may not be there but you’ll scramble well or putt lights out or vice versa. And maybe your 98 was an off day. But you have showed you have the ability to golf your ball a bit with two 80 or lower scores. I know people look for that quick fix but with anything results take time, quality effort, constant practice and ultimately trust in what you’re doing/trying to accomplish. I honestly wish I was taught S&T from the beginning of my golfing days. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

Excellent. It is very notable, also, that you work the left side of your head to prevent yourself from moving off to the right. I’m finding that it helps me to stay more on left side if I do swing reps with just my left hand on the club; and, wrap the club around my legs by pressing forwards with the heel pad of my hand. The turn that this creates pulls me off to the right in the first half of my backswing. So, the left side of my head has to counter this. Then, in the second half of my backswing, when the club moves to the target side of my hands all my weight is pulled onto my left side. When I get a feel for working the heel pad and countering this with the left side of my head, I put my right hand on the club as I swing back. Fantastic. It is the wrap around season after all.

Yes - this system certainly allows for some transfer of pressure into the trail side during the takeaway. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club backwards during that initial stage of the swing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of a gradual increasing of weight load into the lead leg from the start. However, in either scenario the key here is that we do not allow our mass - and thereby our swing center and low point - to drift back at any point. Thanks again for sharing your feels and methodology, and wrap away!! 😎 Tom

Yes. It's so important to feel the transition in order to suppress the "hit" instinct - which plagues a majority of amateur golfers (the primary audience of this channel) - and get the downswing started in the proper sequence. Slowing things down to discover and ingrain our ideal swing rhythm is an excellent way to accomplish that. This does not mean that we’re going to be slow through the zone. We are simply dialing in our tempo for grooving the correct path and achieving consistent sweet spot contact (i.e.: maximizing our “smash factor”). Think in terms of Els, Couples, Matsuyama, Cam Young, Morikawa, for example. Thanks! 2 very good suggestions. Many teachers also advise keeping your head behind the ball as you swing down, so you are looking at the back of the ball. To do this you would need to tilt your body a bit away from the target. Is that where you are looking and aiming to hit, or the ground in front of the ball?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 8 месяцев назад
Thanks - I'm glad those resonated with you! I personally just look at the top of the ball as I find that helps me to keep my head in place throughout the motion - a very important swing key for consistency. That's me. Some have success focusing on a particular quadrant of the ball or even a specific dimple. Still others do well with concentrating on a spot in front of the ball. You have to figure out what works best for you and your tendencies. By the way, would you like to learn some key aspects of the swing I teach in a more structured manner? @SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 7 месяцев назад
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ron. Unless I say otherwise, I'm typically using a 7 or 8 iron in these videos, with an occasional 6 iron thrown in just to keep it interesting. We first need to be aware that camera angles can greatly skew the viewer's perspective on ball position. That aside, while this system affords you some leeway, in general once my students and members show some level of proficiency with the swing I suggest that they migrate to a stock ball position that is in the middle of the stance for short irons, two balls inside the lead heel for middle irons, and creeping more forward for the longer clubs - the farthest forward being even with the inside of the lead heel for the driver (with the stance width increasing as we move from shorter to longer clubs). From there they can make incremental tweaks to see how different positions affect impact quality and shot shape. As for hand position, it remains consistent - even with the inside of your lead thigh - no matter which club you are hitting. Additionally, the lead arm and club shaft should form a straight line from the face-on view, giving your setup a lowercase "y" look. Tommy! I have been following you for a while, had to take some time off due to back spasms. Now I feel like I got the yips, topping, slicing, all irons seem to go about 150 yds. where my 7 was at about 2 hundies a few weeks ago.... I need help...What part of my body am I keeping chained to the wall? My right hip, that is what you kicked out in the video. also what is the first move in the down swing?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 8 месяцев назад
The "wall" is your lead side. As for how to initiate the downswing, that is a loaded question because it is so dependent on individual tendencies that I cannot give a generalized answer. If I tell you that it's a lateral hip slide but your downswing already naturally has sufficient forward force, then you'll hit pushes and/or hooks all day long, and if I tell you to rotate your hips but you are already naturally applying enough outward force, then your destination is pull/slice city! I could also say the shoulders, or dropping the hands, or getting the lead arm off the chest, or rolling your trail foot targetward, or increasing pressure into the lead leg, etc. Whew! You get what I'm saying, right?.... This is why I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. However, no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the desired positions, motions, and ball striking results. The lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address your issues, a better option for you would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain (or regain) a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Let's get you out of that abyss and back into the wonderful world of consistent ball striking bliss!! Tom, with leaning to the left early, doesn’t that de loft the ball?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 2 месяца назад
I'm not "leaning" that way, Todd - I'm simply keeping my weight favoring the lead leg. The need for a weight shift in the golf swing is one of the greatest fallacies ever taught, and it has led many an amateur golfer into the vast abyss of chronic inconsistency and frustration. This system certainly allows for some transfer of pressure into the trail side during the takeaway. In the swing I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs), gradually add more forward weight load into the transition (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. There's no "weight shift"; instead, it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful motion. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

@SagutoGolf День назад
We first need to be aware that camera angles can greatly skew the viewer's perspective on ball position, Mark. (By the way, I strongly suggest using alignment sticks when monitoring ball position - one on the foot line, a second one parallel to the first to mark the target line, and a third perpendicular to these to show ball position - as our side-on view from above tends to skew our perspective of the actual location of the ball relative to our stance.) With regard to your driver question, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. I think what Anna was trying to explain is that you'll feel a stretch or tightness between your lower pelvis and upper inner thigh, but if that trail leg begans to move backwards and straighten, or your knee locks, you've gone too far.

Hi Todd, In this swing system the lead knee flexes as the trail knee straightens (but does not "lock") during the backswing, both in their outwardly flared orientation that we preset at address. The flexing/straightening occurs gradually and in response to the increasing forward weight load and the tilting, turning, and extending components of the motion. They are not contrived actions unto themselves. We're simply allowing them to be reactive, thereby freeing up the hips and shoulders to execute an unrestricted turn for a centered, powerful, easily repeatable swing. There are 20+ popular you tubers who teach you all these new things every week with click bait algorithms and it made me worse! TOM was the CURE with the simple swing. I am still mastering the simple swing (stack and tilt) but I am honing in the technique and I don't trust anything else at this point because this non gimmicky swing makes sense. Think less, let the shoulders move the hips, preload the front. Toms yardage is just as good as any of these ultra-hyper you tubers out there but they are extending this and hyper moving that, Tom just easy swings and gets to the same result without the over extension which to me is victory.

I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my lesson content and teaching style are resonating with you and providing clarity and simplicity in the muddied, overly complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. Indeed, this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance S&T swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's most prolific ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top. By the way, if you'd really like to get on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, structured, sequential platform, please consider my online school. It will make for a far more efficient, superior, and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. The school is where you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Thanks again for your message and support, and keep up the great work!! Tom

Are you setting up on a single plane or do you have your wrist cocked at address.
@SagutoGolf

Hi David, While this swing meets the one-plane definition, it should not be confused with the method that calls itself "single plane". From the DTL view ours is not a straight line relationship between the arms and shaft. In the setup for this swing the arms hang naturally from the shoulders (except for the driver, for which we push them out an inch or so to encourage more of the around-the-body motion needed for that lengthy shaft). Hi Tom I see your golf school is now a monthly cost can i still Join for $ 99 a year

Sorry, Ennio - that is no longer an option for new memberships. Existing members who kept their subscriptions current were grandfathered in, but with the platform upgrades and robust new instruction content an increase was unavoidable. The good news is that at just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it still represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Some of the drills in this compilation are excerpted from older videos when the school was $10/month. The pricing changed a few years ago after some major upgrades were made to the school platform and content. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results - saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews - it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.
