All third party remotes may well work with current models of GoPro, but there is no guarantee that it will work with future GoPro models. GoPro can easily make changes to software. They do support their own remotes long term. I recently bought the new remote because my old remote got lost. I had bought it for the Hero 4 and was still going strong. Third party might be cheap, but they can be risky. It is the same with batteries. I have tried plenty of third party batteries. I have had plenty of third party batteries. I have had several batteries fail. Every one that failed was a third party battery while I have never had an OEM battery fail. It is logical, because in order to drive prices down the third party has to cut corners somewhere, and that is usually in the unseen internal parts.
Many thanks for taking the time to create this video for us. Excellent review and details. However, there is just a $34 difference in price between the GoPro and TELESIN. For peace of mind, the GoPro is what I would choose. but I can try out the TELESIN since Amazon has a 30-day free return. Only my 2 cents🙂🙂
Great review. If i can suggest. Please include the charge life of the remote and how much charge it drains the camera. How long does a full charged remote last.
Yes. You can connect the gopro to the remote, and turn it on and off with the remote, and it will start recording when you turn it on. There is a setting on the gopro called quickstart to do that.
Your link takes you to a $40 remote now. If you search around you can find the Telesin T10 for $29.99. Good review, convinced me. The only big difference I can see is the Telesin only connects to 1 GoPro, while the GoPro brand connects to up to 5 cameras at once. Not a deal breaker for me, though.
I'm sorry about that...will try to find the correct link. Thanks for pointing it out to me. But the telesin does claim to connect up to 5 gopros at once...but I haven't tried it yet.
Thank you this video has given me a better idea of a remote for my Gopro 10 and you are write its hard to find reviews that are not sponsored by the manufacturer.
Good job overall for your first video but I would highly recommend keeping things SHORT and TO THE POINT. Think about this... 20 minutes is equivalent to 40 TV commercials at 30 seconds each. Can you watch 40 TV commercials in a row about the SAME thing? I watched half of this and realized it was just going to drag on longer than I preferred. Maybe I'll watch the rest some other day. Also, keep the Like and Subscribe stuff until the very end. If your videos are good enough people will L&S automatically. Too many RU-vidrs constantly say the same thing over and over. We viewers know what to do. We get it. I myself look for content that shows me what I want to know in the shortest possible time. Just don't have the time and not interested in anything repetitive or unnecessary. Use video for what it is intended - don't TELL us what to do, SHOW us what to do. I think you will find your videos will turn out 100 times better if you use as few words as possible. Show us MORE than you talk! Hope this helps.
Thank you for this review, I m shopping for thas... I juste buy Hero 10.... 35 $ for this one is good.... but for me it is a Big negative impact the way it is charging, this magnetic cable... to much problem. All my electronics devices fonction with USB-C .... SO I M HAPPY YOU MMAKE THIS REVIEW, THAS HELP ME TO CHOOSE... I M GOING FOR THE GOPRO ONE. THANK YOU
That is why I made the review. Different people have different needs. This Telesin works for me, but other people prefer the gopro model. Thanks for your comment!
I do not recommend the Telesin T10. In the last 3 days this marvel has completely hung up twice. It does not respond to any buttons, it cannot be turned off. It displays a paused timer on the screen when it hangs up, and the only way to get out of this state is to wait until the battery dies.
I did not mention the battery life, but i have used it in the field all day and still had battery life left. The remote shows both the remote battery level, and the gopro battery level, if that helps. Thank you.
They are not waterproof . i doubt they would even handle a good rain storm without fogging up and letting water in . If youre going to be anywhere near water with these types of remotes . dont bother
Thank you for your comment. They are rated IP6, and I have used mine in the rain when I am out kayaking and fishing with no problem. While they are not the most waterproof remote out there, they are also not the most expensive. I have been using this model for a couple years now with absolutely no problem.
@@adventureswithbill9825 Ive had two and both have stuffed up from getting water in them . they are rated IPX6 but are way less waterproof than that . If you have been kayaking in the rain with them you and they still work you have been very lucky . They are not waterproof . water resistant maybe
Looks like the same remote I purchased on Amazon, worked great, range great, easy to connect. However, it refuses to charge after only a few months of ownership. DEAD... Probably super cheap batteries in these things, I duno..
@@rickskeptic6472 I just tried to connect it to my samsung phone and couldn't get it to work. There is not much info on this feature. I will try to find an Iphone and try it with that. Thanks!
