Welcome to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, where breathtaking views await in this grand tour, the easy access edition.
In this video we'll take you through the must-see spots highlighted on the park's pocket map which each visitor is given upon arrival, so you can see for yourself and choose your favorites when you visit yourself.
First, Desert View - a splendid panorama with the Desert View Watchtower, an architectural gem by Mary Colter.
Lipan Point offers a mesmerizing spectacle with nearly a 360-degree view.
Moran Point enchants with nature's artistry, providing views of the expansive Grand Canyon.
Continue west to Grand View Point, cherished for sunrise photos.
Venture onward to Yaki Point, where nature's grand design humbles with its sheer magnitude. Notably, Yaki Point serves as the trailhead for the South Kaibab Trail, offering a passage from rim to rim.
Mather Point, the gateway to the grandeur of the Grand Canyon and hosts the Grand Canyon Visitor's Center
The Grand Canyon Village is an absolute must for everyone and has the best options for dining. I'd recommend making reservations days or weeks in advance if you want one of them fancy dinners.
Embarking on Hermit's Road, Maricopa Point reveals a panorama of vastness.
Powell Point pays tribute to John Wesley Powell, the intrepid one-armed pioneer.
Hopi Point is legendary for capturing the fiery essence of a desert sunset.
Mohave Point offers tranquility and fine sunset views, yet far away from sunset crowds of Hopi.
The Abyss grants a profound silence, albeit with no amenities.
Monument Creek Vista unveils nature's grandeur.
Pima Point gifts an expansive view tracing the river's winding journey.
Our journey concludes at Hermit's Rest, an architectural gem, again designed by renowned Mary Colter.

This channel's all 'bout the Grand Canyon, offerin' y'all tips once you're in the Canyon with must-see stops, watering holes, and places to rest along the way.
Me and my trusty steed, Jackpot, were explorin' the Canyon back in the 1800s, fell into a time-warp, and somehow ended up in the 21st century!
To top it off, Jackpot's spirit somehow got trapped in a contraption they call a "Jeep."
Weird, but true...
Cutting to the chase - to make a buck, I started guiding folks through GC. One day it was suggested, "You should start a RU-vid Channel!"
So, here we are!
We got videos that essentially act as trail maps from Las Vegas, Phoenix, Flagstaff, and more!🏜️

We are planning to visit Grand Canyon in June and we watched at least 10 videos about what to do in Grand Canyon and this is the best video we’ve seen! So informative, nice editing. I can’t wait to visit all the places you’ve shown us!👏🙌

Ain't that a fine coincidence? Must've been quite the adventure back in the 90s. To the naked eye, I reckon the Canyon hasn't changed much since then, but we sure have, haven't we, partner? Compared to Grand Canyon, I'm aging faster than a cowboy chasing down a tumbleweed in a whirlwind! Thanks for sharin' your connection to the Canyon, and we're delighted you enjoyed the video!

Great videos . We are heading to Grand Canyon on a road trip from Florida and will be staying at the South Rim. Seeing your north rim clips kinda wish we had booked a couple days there too.

Ah, the trials and tribulations of travel! It's a grand adventure indeed, and the Grand Canyon, with its vastness and variety, never fails to surprise and delight. Your road trip from Florida to the South Rim sounds like quite the escapade! While it's impossible to see every nook and cranny of the Canyon in a single trip, that's part of its charm - it keeps calling you back for more. As someone who's been living here for nearly two decades, I can attest to that! And hey, who knows? Maybe your next journey will take you to the North Rim, where the views are just as spectacular, albeit with a different flavor. Happy trails, and may your travels be filled with wonder and discovery!

No, the shuttle system doesn't go to all of those points. You have to either drive yourself or go with a private tour company. The buses can't access all of those points. That's what they told me today at the transportation desk at Bright Angel Lodge. I saw that Pink Jeep Tours goes to those points. If anyone knows of other companies that go there, too, let me know, thanks.😊

Well, reckon I might've caused a stir with my tall tales, but let me set the record straight quicker than a rattlesnake's flicker. Y'see, partner, I never did claim them busses could whisk you to every viewpoint, far as the eye can see. Nope, that ain't how the cards were dealt. I did indeed hop aboard them busses out west to catch them western views off Hermit Road. Fact is, for about 9 months of the year, them busses are your only ticket to the panoramic paradise west of the village, unless you're hkin' or bikin'. But when it comes to explorin' the eastern reaches, that's where ol' Jackpot and me come into play. So, to sum it up swift and neat like a cowboy's lasso, while them busses'll tote you through the west, it's me and my trusty Jeep Wrangler, Jackpot, takin' on the east. 'Cause sometimes, you gotta forge your own path, dust and all. Here's to ridin' high, settin' the story straight, and keepin' the adventure alive and kickin'! Until next time, keep the dust flyin' and the spirit wild!

@@VisitingGrandCanyon Thank you for your entertainin', storytellin' toned reply. I'm transported and feelin' right about to get me my own Jackpot, or maybe wrangle a mule to somewheres in the meantime.😉 I wanna thank ya fer all them purty movin' pictures that I can't right see out my own window, bein' I'm thousands of miles away and all. I thank ya kindly. I look forward to seein' what you and Jackpot will be cookin' up next.🤠🐎

Thanks for the video. How long do you suggest one spends in all of these places (stay in the area for a week? two weeks?) thanks!
@VisitingGrandCanyon
@VisitingGrandCanyon 5 месяцев назад
Well, partner, reckon you could catch a glimpse of all them sights in a single day, but you'll be needin' to hustle like a jackrabbit on a hot summer day. Figure 'bout 10 to 15 minutes at each spot oughta do the trick. Now, some places like Desert View, with its mighty Watchtower, or Hermit's Rest, where you can find vittles and other curiosities, might tempt you to linger a spell longer. Or, if you're feelin' adventurous, why not mosey down into the canyon itself? Yaki Point, Grand View, and Hermit's Rest all boast trails worth a trot. Just keep in mind, what goes down must come back up, like a steer wrangled from a ravine. Now, if you're fixin' to stay a week or two 'round these parts - 'less you're plannin' on some real hoofin' down into the canyon or takin' a float down the Colorado - reckon you'll want to toss in some other sights and parks nearby. Sedona, Flagstaff, Page, Lake Powell, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, and the like come to mind. I'll be wranglin' up more videos down the trail to answer all them questions and then some. So stick around, and let's keep this adventure rollin'!

Isn't access to Yaki Point restricted from regular vehicles? How do you get there if not using a shuttle? Did you drive your Jeep there? "Yaki Point is the only viewpoint on Desert View Drive that is closed to private vehicles. It can be only be reached by taking the free eastbound Kaibab Rim (Orange) Route shuttle, departing from the Visitor Center Shuttle Bus Terminal."
@VisitingGrandCanyon
@VisitingGrandCanyon Месяц назад
Well, partner, my apologies for not bein' clearer than a mountain spring. I didn't saddle up Jackpot and ride all the way to Yaki Point. Nope, I hopped on the shuttle bus at the visitor’s center and rode that in. Now, if you’re lookin’ to avoid the shuttle, you can drive up to Yaki Point Road and hoof it from there. It’s about a half-mile walk, give or take. Though, there ain't no parking lot. You'd be parking on the curb, halfway into the ditch.
