Do you want a stronger Grip? Find people break your grips easily? The best way to develop Grip strength for GI and No-Gi require different approaches. JT & Joey break down how you can get the most out of your Grip training to maximise your gains:
1.) Full Grip vs Half Grip
2.) Isometrics or Dynamic Gripping
3.) Rope Climbing & Cylindrical Grip
4.) Build Endurance or Crushing Power
5.) Forearm Health and Preventing Tendonitis
No Grip = No Fight. A strong grip is foundational to your success as a grappler, Gi or No-Gi. Prioritising the right type of grip training for the style of grappling you prefer will help you develop iron forearms faster.

Single arm farmer's carry with kettlebell is awesome for both grip and core!

I dont know how you guys would theoretically and philosophically touch or relate to this but, the final link and most important part of landing the ko punch is the wrapping and squeezing/closing of the thumb. Thats what holds the kinetic energy and turns the hand into a bell. Biting down on your thumb (and toe)and really committing seems to turn the fist into a magnet and really makes the punch "STICK". Turning the thumb over and landing on the fingers is like skipping a rock. And tilting the fist forward is what allows you to land on the 2 knuckles (aiming with pinky knuckle) . But yeah your technique could be perfect, and being able to sqwat and dead lift 250-300lbs does not matter if your thumb isnt stronger than all of them lb4lb. Its like your big toe is a handle on a bull whip and your thumb is a knot tied at the end. The knot must be strong enough to not come undone during before and after impact

Being an armwrestler im so happy that you jujutsu guys gives us some cred in grippstrength. We do train gripp / fingers / underarms wrists all the time. Just dont ask us about legtraining 😂

Ive always been a natural wrestler and grappler and was years ahead of my peers with gripping and grabbing and squeezing. In highschool i could naturally curl the most by far and pull ups i was the best but i worked very hard for. I joined boxing at age 14 and because i gave up on grip training i was not a knock out artist. Brilliance from you boys everything you said all connects to gaining the ability to knock some one out with the fist. Maximizing the kinetic transfer and than being able to hold on to that or bridge that gap long enough for them to go night night.

A full crimp is quite different to a closed fist but your point comes across.

The best way to practice a vertical grip is the same way you'd practice a one arm pull up. There are plenty of videos on youtube but essentially you will have a towel on one side of the bar and your hand on the other putting most of your weight on the the towel side. Repeat the process until you no longer need the support of the off hand.

Armwrestlwrs by far have the best "grip" workouts for fingers, hand, wrist and forearm. Try adding to workouts

Have you guys ever tried the gyro Powerballs? I find them great at my desk at work, good to keep the tendons healthy.

I might get downvoted, but honestly, I prefer that my podcasters don't curse. Though I do like the way Aussies curse.
