Your beginner method, explanation and practice methods are the best.

I am constantly looking to level up my exercises and get the most out of them: technique, fret board comfort, theory, etc. These exercise suggestions do all that for me. Thank you so much! Can't wait to get started incorporating these ideas in my practice. (Already doing a version of 1 with hammer on and pull offs.)

Starting with scales over chords, each of these alternatives deserves its own more in-depth lesson! You're leaving us beginners in the dust haha.

Yea- scales can go on and on forever. I just wanted to show 2 patterns that I think are helpful for beginners and try to keep it short. I dont want people to overdo it with practicing scales though. There's better things to practice IMO.

Thanks Im glad you liked it! These are black mountain picks. Not sure about the gauge but Id recommend trying out the variety pack that has like 4 different variations.

It just dawned on me…there are great guitarists with degrees in classical guitar or such and they are horrible teachers. My teacher was the UCLA grad with great degree. Great Telecaster and fingerpicking player. I should stop here but this needs an explanation. I told him I wanted to learn a song. It was a 2:00 minute Chet Atkins song and in one hour he transcribed the whole song. I kept asking him for more songs because He wasn’t guiding me…not systematically. I’ve seen many RU-vid teachers. This is unique. He has organized a nw way of “First things first. So you have a system here that should get you where all players want to be. We like other guitarists. We like their improv. Their solos. this is preparing you for improv. Oh…he’s wearing a Herco thump pick. I use them for flatpicking and fingerpicking. Good luck.
