I received and installed my 26mm carb from Rolling Wrench for my 2022 Icebear Maddog (Gen 4). What a game changer! I noticed right off the bat that I instantly had a lot more acceleration. It's too early to tell if I have a speed increase. It's been raining 🌧 but I'll definitely test it out and let y'all know. I also purchased the clocking flange however I couldn't use it. It made the carburetor too tall and I couldn't close the seat but so far I haven't had any issues. Thanks Rolling Wrench 🔧!
the problem with porting and polishing the fuel side of the carburetor is you're not breaking up the fuel as much. polishing the air side is great. but you would want the fuel side a little rough that way the fuel gets broken up more as it enters the combustion chamber so it burns more fully. kinda like pouring a little gasoline on the ground lighting it on fire it's gonna burn for a couple seconds and go out. now spray fuel from a bottle and light it as your spraying it. it's gonna burn for fraction of a second and be gone. same concept with carburetors.
@@KaptainKruiser if you were to pour some water into an empty pan on your stovetop, you would see a few large drops dancing around as they slowly boiled away. If you instead sprayed the water from a bottle in a controlled mist, the small droplets would evaporate almost instantly.
WoW, You guys should go talk to some engine builders for $100,000 Formula 1 intakes. Or manybe a NASCAR or Sprint Car engine builder. Tell them about how their polished intakes are foolish and completely wrong. 😂🤣😂
I started experimenting with this a year ago! I wish you would talk more about the kitted 50cc though because here the Dakota territory we don't need plates or helmets so it can be easy to run about but we don't have a great service shop (me aside) so improvement is needed!
@@cav3man360 it will work but its best used with a performance metal naraku intake gasket spacer. Only beacuse the plastic one either crack enyway or end up mealting away if your tuneing. Just because the plastic intake space may get to hot and make a bad intake leak
@@philipproctor9132 Can you hook me up with a link to this metal intake gasket for a 50cc gy6? I can't find one only plastic. I've cracked like 4 of those spacers. I just use silicon or gasket maker but that's not for everyone
So will the 26mm carb with the bigger intake work good on a 150 with a stock head? It wont have problems with the port on the head potentially being smaller?
It looks like I would have to do some more modifications to my GTS-150 to use these. What would I need to do to use one of these on my Hammerhead GTS-150.
Ive been running a Keihin 30mm Cvk and its been one of the best carbs ive ever had on my gy bike. If you jet it correctly you can get really good consistent performance outta them on a built engine. Never had and issue of my bike going lean at 70-80mph with them. Roll out speed is natrually a little slower on a cvk but it all depends on your cvt setup combined with the jetting and carb size.
Many 125cc scooters come with a 26mm carburetor stock. I have a 2008 Yamaha Vino 125 and the stock carb is a Mikuni BS26(26mm) CV carb. I bought the scooter missing it's carb so I first got it running with a CVK 24mm carb from a 150cc scooter, which is a very similar carb. It ran ok but when i put on the correct 26mm carburetor it made a big difference. Note that the replacement carb came with a 92.5 main jet which is too lean. The stock size on the Vino is 97.5, but they run even better with something a step or two richer, such as a 100-105.
Video was very well done and informative! I do like my slide carb very much but would prefer to NOT polish the intake side for better atomization. But may not need the carb anyway! Waiting for that electric kit to hit the market!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I need more info if this will for the gts 150cc hammerhead. Conflicting info, people saying I'll need a riser for the manifold so that it clears the cradle That holds the engine.
Don’t use grease! Transmission fluid is best to lube all throttle friction points, grease will eventually foul and create a sticky throttle . Super thank you for content and efforts…
I have a coleman 49cc moped and upgraded to 80cc (1p139qmb) and I am struggling to tune correctly (even welded in a wideband af sensor) and still struggling!!! What should i get? Also the carb i have the throttle cable enters on the side this one comes in from the top, how to route that? And then what are the jets you use?
Hey I just ordered the 28 pro for a 177 cc go kart. It’s the vitacci Batman model. The website says the throttle cable won’t fit. I measured mine. It’s 121”. I’m concerned my current cable won’t fit the slide. Will it fit the new carb or where do I find a new cable. I searched the web but can’t find out. Thanks
I know this video is kind of old. But I recently got a coolster 175cc. It's a 2024 version. The carburetor isn't so good in my opinion. Sometimes doesn't want to start up. I have to give it a little throttle to start up. Would this solve the problem?
😮Anyone get this for a Coleman BK200? What size do you get? And do i need a new throttle cable for this carb? Idk what cc it is.but i know its a Colman BK 200. Coleman wont give out what type of aftermarket parts or any reference, they want me to buy their cheap parts.
I’m doing research to do a build on my sons go kart. It’s a buggy style, two seater, gy6 150. PLEASE understand, I’m not hating on anyone or what they’re into. But…. I just don’t get it. Could someone explain to me why the following for these scooters/ruckus? It seems like guys are trying really hard and spending a lot of money to do less than a stock small motorcycle will do. Again, not hating. I’m curious and here to learn.
My highest point in my state altitude is 5,276 and lowest is sea level the mean alleviation is 600 feet the setting on the carburetor I got from u had a 105 main jet and a 38 pilot already installed by u guys on the site it’s says pilot is 38 and main is 135 well I did a lot of testing on the jets and the 135 was boggy so I continued to find the sweet spot and I went back to the 105 main jet and the 38 pilot jet it had a little bit of boggy but not much I adjusted the air screw and made it a little better but it still wasn’t there so I ended up hooking up the purge valve tank and the boggyness went right away so with that being said it was just getting a little bit too much air I’m not sure what that purge valve tank does exactly but I would like to know?
gret video, just fuckt up i can use it any more sins i bye the kymco afility 16+ 50cc gy6 motor whit EFI in it and a codeing to only goes 30 kmt !WHAT TO DO?
Replaced my stock petcock with just an on/off/reserve. No longer have the vacuum check valve piece of junk So no I should be able to plug the nipple on the intake with my new pwk card ? The gas tank sits above the carb and is flowing with gravity so I do not see the need to have the vacuum line leaving to anywhere
I have a trail master sorrento 150 they say it is a gy6 motor and I was wanting to know if you have a high performance carburetor for my scooter? I also want to know what a good exhaust is that sounds good and last is it good to take the governor off of the gy6? Thanks
i have a piaggio zip 4t with an 80cc kit on it i tested it with an 24mm cvk carb and the top speed was 85km/h but the throttle response is indeed slow. my question is what size pwk can i fit on it ? because i dont see any information for an piaggio zip 4t engine
So if i get this right i can take my runner st125 four stroke carb off and put a pwk on Jet it and it wil work without problems ? Doesnt it need the other parts the cvk has ?
I've been looking into velocity stack intakes for gy6 lately, but I noticed the inlet on these are tapered like one already, how do you think it would run if you were to go without the intake and filter just find a bit of mesh to go over the inlet?
Here's my full setup: Stock GY6 150cc Tao Tao Quantum 150 Nibbi 28mm Carb with 35 pilot and 155 main jets (32 pilot was better for part throttle and slow speed cruising to save fuel - I started with a 100 main, 120, 140, and finally the 155 - Scooter acts like it wants more fuel; may reinstall the 32 pilot with a 165-170 main) NGK CR7HIX Iridium Plug 17.5g Dr. Pulley Sliders 118mm variator and drive face Long pad clutch Stock Contrast Springs Stock Clutch Springs Stock Gearing (Not Sure of Ratio - planning to break in and find out if I have any room for a higher speed ratio gearing) I have not GPS confirmed the speed, but I did reach 75-80 mph with the stock 150! May go faster if I remove the luggage tray as it is acting like a parachute...
That sounds goddamn great, got myself a taotao too but i have no taotao experience. Planing to kit mine out just like you did! What is an good experience you have made that you definitely wished you would have known before starting? Thank you in advance!
@@sinant.3779 1. Buying a 150cc scooter that had a GY6B engine on it already. 2. Knowing more about tuning the mikuni style carb to get past the dead spot between part throttle and full throttle. I am running 14 gram dr pulley sliders. I bought a 30mm CVK carb hoping that it would fix the dead spot. It has with the added bonus of the needle being opened by the velocity of the air the engine being sucked in. This basically means that in order for the engine to be truly be at full throttle, the engine must be able to breathe in hard enough to lift the vacuum actuated needle to get the fuel it needs. I lost 10-20mph with and almost all of my acceleration up to top speed. 30mm CVK stops spinning the 14gr sliders at 6000rpm. 28mm mikuni lets the engine breathe in deeply and spins the 14gr sliders at 7000! 28mm mikuni style carb beats 30mm CVK for speed and acceleration. Just have to work on the dead spot. (60 pilot and 178 main - I'm thinking of raising the main jet and dropping the pilot back down to 30. It's definitely a process! I have hit 70mph on a stock 150cc with cone filter, 28mm mikuni (Nibbi) carb, 60 pilot 140 main, aftermarket slip-on straight through exhaust, CR7HIX iridium plug gapped at stock 0.7mm, blue racing cdi, and orange coil. I did install an 11 pole stator compared to the 8 pole stock stator and rewired the wire harness so that all accessories have the own ground to the battery (20 18ga green lines all attached to a 6ga cable that goes to the battery and a separate 6ga engine ground. Also converted the 2 headlights from the crap 2x30watt halogen BA20 bulbs to 2 Laxmas 9003 22w LED bulbs. The 44w LED light up so much more than the 60w BA20's! The main purpose of converting the lights and the stator is to generate as much electricity as possible and not use as much of the energy for lights and accessories. I am hoping that this relieves any power stress my system may have had to give a nice hot spark. I did have bad grounds from the OEM harness as when I would hit the brakes and have my turn signal on, my dash and headlight would dim in rhythm with the turn signal. This is no longer an issue! After all of this carb tuning, I have a GY6B 232cc 4V that I am building. I have a feeling that I will be tuning my carb for some time now lol! I'm sure I am missing something as there are so many details about these scooters I wish I knew before I purchased mine.
Quick question I have a gy6 150 has a exhaust and uni filter. I also got a 28mm oko carb would that be ok to run with proper tuning or would I have to get a 26mm like u said?
All i run is a 12" header pipe. Never gad an issue with it yet. I also am heavily modified and now requires the use of 105 octane fuel to be its most efficient. Check my vids out you may want to adopt some of the ideas i had.
You can run a way bigger carb. I recommend up to 32 on even a stock gy6. I'm running an a9 cam with 32mm carb (damn near stock) and she loves it., Also that leaves 2" that u can run a nice pipe for your air filter (long tube cold air intake) Ps: awesome glasses broski👍👌
One thing to keep in mind as I mentioned in the video. Elevation plays a huge roll in the size of carb you can use. For instance: people in Florida can run a 30mm carburetor on a 150cc. Us up here in Colorado can’t even run a 30mm on a 190cc. The reason for my recommendation is because it’s good to be universal. What if a Florida dude takes his bike to the small bore rally in Tennessee ? The bike won’t run. So yes, depending on your elevation you can run a bigger carb. Just keep that in mind
@@RollingWrench what are size would you recommend for some one living in Florida I was gonna eventually buy your 171cc drop in engine but idk what carb to put on it
I found 24mm to give me great gains. I also tried a 26mm and found it a little rough in the transitions despite configuration. elevation makes a huge difference. Live at 6500ft
The FCR 28mm flat slides with the accelerator pump is the ticket! They are just expensive. I’ll do a video soon on those. I haven’t listed them on the site yet, but A+++
First of all you need more education the stock carb works off of vacuum . Cv stands for constant velocity but the new carb is better but you need to use the vacuum fuel pump gas tank is not high enough for gravity fed carbs
So can I put one of these on a stock 50cc? Not a fan of these cvk carbs. I am really only looking for reliability. It seems no matter what I do to them they run like junk.
Im running a 30mm pwk on my stock gy6 no other mods than an intake and the torque is ridiculous.. was thinking of going with the Mikuni 32mm with my 58.5 big bore and ported head from taida.. crf 150r runs a 32-33mm carb from the factory so i dont see why it shouldn’t work especially since the 30mm runs fine without any other mods
So.. how does one go about using this on an engine that has an electric choke? I have a 2021 Ice Bear Malibu 150 with a GY6.. I am assuming its got an E Choke because I do not have to choke it to start it.. is it possible or do you guys sell a carb compatible with E Choke or do i need to some how delete the E Choke and go manual??? Im still wet behind the ears when it comes to this stuff.. Im teaching myself everything VIA youtube. Im looking to add a little extra umph to my scoot. She scoots but I think she can scoot a little better.
What if I wanna wake it up, a new carburetor. But I wanna bore it to 170cc later. Should I go 26mm or 28mm?? I'm gonna do ur bore kit. Mine is currently a 125. I'm planning to do ur drop in bore kit
Can anyone help me? I have a Tao Tao Bull 200 with a 169cc engine. I have the 28mm pwk carb that rolling wrench offers. I have gotten a longer throttle table to allow the slide to shut all the way, but I am unable to get the idle right. I have a 32 pilot jet and a 100 main jet in the carb, but with the needle in the middle setting at 2000rpm I am running 10.5:1 air ratio by my o2 sensor. with that I am at 12.5-13.5 from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle and 12:1 at WOT. I am running rich from idle and at 1/4 throttle it shows under 10:1 A/F ratio. The idle screw is lifting the slide to have a hair gap. If I move the needle to the leanest position I can get the idle a/f ratio up to 11.5:1 with the slide still that hair open and then 1/4 to 3/4 is 13:1-14.5:1 and WOT is 14.5:1. At the leanest position I don't get as much of a fat spot at the 1/4 throttle threshold, but still have a issue with stalling if I go full throttle from idle. As far as I can tell I think I need a different needle with a longer flat side before the taper. Any ideas?
Hello what does Plug N Play mean? I'm sorry I'm a bit slow, but I'm hoping you say that this is something and all I would need to make my Venom X18R/ Dfsst 200cc even faster?
I bought a scooter with one of your carbs on it but it's missing that top support for the throttle cable. So it's shredding itself on the hole in the cap. Can I buy one of these? I was looking at cables on your website but they didn't seem to have that little support
Hey what’s up man, I love your videos. I recently got a gy6 buggy & I’m loving it. I wanted to get one of your carburetors, but they’re all unavailable on your website. Are you by any chance still selling them..? If so, how can I get one?
Hey rolling wrench, What could be causing some popping and bogging at 2/3 - 3/4 throttle on a 150cc GY6 scooter? Can you think of anything electrical that can be.causing this? I've already installed 3 new carburetors, 3 different csi boxes, different coil wires, and a couple other things and I can't seem to get rid of it. Can you help me please?
Can u recommend a carb u sell for gy6 50cc rebuilt with a 80cc big bore kit and also a clutch and a exhaust system best to go with it too please and thank you
I just installed a new flat slide today. (Take it from me, DO NOT buy the cheap carbs online. They're somehow worse than their reputation.) It was $30 and it's trash but for the 20 minutes that it worked, it freaking WORKED. Now it just pukes fuel out the overflow. Gonna order a new one next week.
