my fave product of 2021 has to be the Flawless by Gabrielle Union blow dry cream. i used to be soooo nitpicky about using heat. but my mama used to blow dry my natural hair all the time growing up and it grew just fine! i'm done worrying about length and trying to have fun/just be safe. that stuff leaves my blowout SHEEN AF!! (and has great, strengthening ingredients!) 💞
@@christiefaldoni4148 i'd blow dry my hair every 2 weeks as a kid, and i do that now! i just make sure to deep condition my hair every time i wash (every 2 weeks), use a protein treatment and use a heat protector or blow dry cream. i'm not an expert ofc but this has worked for my very kinky 4c hair!
I have 4C hair & I found that product from Gabrielle Union was TERRIBLE for my hair! It left my hair dry, hard & I was nearly in tears because I had to wash it out again. 😩
Omgshh ive always hated having oily hair, I'm so glad that i found out about black girl curls and using foam for twist and braids my hair is soft and moisturized without feeling greasy 💯
That Camille rose deep treatment and leave in are sooo bomb! My fav product this year has to be her spiked honey 4 in 1 mousse! Shine, definition and hold ✨ I feel the same about the mousse def. Only like it for wash and gos, hate it for twists. It leaves my hair looking ashy n grey!!
Jenn look into the Olaplex system. Specifically #0 and #3. Don’t get me wrong, I love Aphogee but Olaplex works on a molecular level whereas Aphogee works on the surface.
@@JennJackson get the Ola0lex 1 and apply for 10 mins, do not rinse! Then apply the Olapex 3 straight on top! TIP: I put the Olaplex 1 in a spray bottle for better distribution and less wastage. Its original applicator bottle is not the best for application as it is very watery and too expensive to lose even a drop!!!
I had to laugh when I saw the title of the video ! I think you may have ruffled some people feathers lol not mine. I love oil but they weighed my hair so I realized my hair couldn’t handle them unless it’s a formulated product
Hey Girl you did a great job on this review! I also have tons of unfinished products in the stash drawer and most of them are just ok. In 2022 I’m only keeping and using The Best Ones that actually work for my hair. Keeping things streamlined on wash day ( 3-4 products Max!) will help me stay motivated and also helps me determine what actually works to grow my hair. Because my Goal of 2022 is: Get to bra strap length ( or longer) by Dec 15th! Then I will do a year end straightening and enjoy my length and healthy hair. Yay! 🥳 I need to set my goals now and create a Plan to walk my way through the seasons- bc my hair behaves differently in Winter than in the Summer. So I’m combining all the insights I’ve learned over the past three years and I’ll try to stick with techniques that actually work for my hair. For me that means 1. Low manipulation styles ( twists and buns) 2. Deep conditioning every week. 3. Remoisturizing my hair every other day to prevent dryness/ dehydration. 4. Taking care of my ends and those dang fairy knots! Long hair here I come! I love your style and sense of humor. Let’s see where this new year takes us! I’m looking forward to following you on this years Hair Journey! 🤩🥰🥳
The UFD is everything! It really dies define/separate curls if applied correctly and you don't need loads! At first I thought it was pricey, but buying the largest one is going to last me for months and I tend to wash twice a week. It works out pretty much the same as gels such as Mane Choice price range if you break it down. Its just that you are not replacing the product often as you've bought it in bulk!
Great video Jen! Can you please do a video on which of these leaveins and gels are a good combo? I want to use a leave in but avoiding it as I don't want to waste these expensive products. I'm only confident about KKKC with KKKT as its a system? I think you are right about not needing to use too much of the I Create Hold. Love that product! Wanting to try the AG products and the Camille Rose Line so I have a back up go to product I can easily get hold of.
Thank you so much for explaining the difference between AG natural and a Clarifying and a moisturizing shampoos. I use AG natural weekly and I think it's too much , I will be buying a moisturizing shampoo. And I do like not using raw oils and butters in my fine hair
I’m still using oils but not the same way I used to 🤣 however I do love the Camille rose coconut oil line and thanks for putting me on the Maui coconut line, love love love it but noticed my hair don’t stay moisturised all week, have to refresh at day 3/4. Camille rose hair stays hydrated until wash day
My fave product of 2021 is keracare intensive restorative masque ; my stylist used it on my hair everytime I came for a trim in 2021, i bought it out of curiosity and I'm never running out of this in my life
I've also got some Maui Moisture products in my stash but I haven't actually used them yet. Your review is making me excited to finally crack them open!
It's a single basket of products for me!👌 🥰 I could put all of my products in that basket with room to spare. My hair care is also simply cleansing, condition, detangle and style as a result, I don't have shelves of products. I think my favorite product is still the KCCC. I've been using it for my WNG's since 2008, and I don't see that changing unless they stop selling it.

As a separate comment I want to add that lately: I have been taking the difusor off of my hair dryer and drying my hair in a wind-blown style. Jenn, because you strive for a very natural look, I thought you might like this idea. Basically, I do not finger coil or finger rake my hair. After all products are applied, I give it one last come through with the Pattern comb (I prefer the Hercules but I misplaced it), then I wind blow my hair. This way, my hair has less tangles because it has less curls. Also, it only takes about 15 minutes to blow dry this way. I tried it once when I was in a hurry, and I loved it.

Hi Jen. Left a comment below and hope you pick up on it later. I'm based in the UK and it's a struggle for us to get the AG products. I found one site that stocks but their customer service reviews are so bad I dare not order from them! AG company does not ship to the UK yet which would guarantee the products authenticity! In the UK we have the Maui brand but not the actual green Flaxseed one you recommended in your description box. Can you do a video of approved 'substitute' products easily obtained on the ground for the AG brand? Also, do you recommend ALL the Maui Line as the recommended ingredients inline with no oils/butters regimen? Thanks in advance if you pick this up! Love, light and vlessings...❤🕯🙏🏾
Hi lovely. I’m in the UK as well and for this reason I’ve stayed with the Innersense range. I do love their products but I haven’t tried AG so I can’t compare. Have you tried Innersense?

Just kidding, but you will probably make that part of your stable products. Not only does it elongates and define your curls, it clunks the hair nicely and it will shine and no residue will be on your. I love mostly all of the Camille Rose Products that I have tried. They are quality products.
@@JennJackson Hey Jenn👋🏽 I did use melanin leave in conditioner but only a quarter size then I used the gel. I also used the camile rose without the leave in. I had a good experience both ways, probably cause I only use a small amount of leave in.
I looked so crazy when I have used the doux mousse on my kinky hair. My curls are actually very pretty but using that I didn't see a kurl in site. I had clumped kinks not kurls. I took it back to target and got a refund and that was my 2nd purchase of it and I vowed never, never ever again. But I really love Curly Magic. Gels definitely define my hair better than mousses I've tried.
Products definitely do last a long time. There's truly no need for us to be using as much product as we use, LOL! Prayers up that we can get this product junkism under control for 2022! 🙏🏾😄
I use Innersense. I as well have learned that a little goes a very long way. I only use the hairbath and conditioner. I picked up 2 for the price of one when Ulta had 50% off for cyber Monday. I really did not need so much, but I use the conditioner as a deep conditioner sometimes. The I Create Hold is toooooo much hold for my taste. I actually like the Doux’s Big Poppa on top of the UFD. So water, then UFD, then more water, then Mousse Def, and then a smidget/finger-full of Big Poppa. The only other product that I use is a deep conditioner from She Scent It called Okra Hair Repair Retentive Mask. It has okra and a lot of other plant based products for the scalp. I use it to pre poo and to give myself a little massage. I sent boxes of products to my niece when I went to “no oils”. My niece has two daughters as well. Because I sent her all of those oil based products, I also included a strong teaching about clarifying from time-to-time.
for protein treatments if you want something more straight foward in ingredients try the botanika the mender it's a cheap and i believe vegan alternative to aphogee!

I've used Maui too (the curl quench) and I'll admit the shampoos is pretty good but Idk about the conditioner on my hair cause coconut oil! I also need ufd Cz no hard hair here ! The mousse is bae! I use it for natural hair protective styles ! I even used it for a ponytail lol ONLY and it worked 😂🤷🏾♀️
Did it lay down your hair fir the pontail? What's your hair texture? I'm kinky coily and yet try out the Mousse Def. Its an online order as it's not available in stores in the UK.

I washed my hair then I did two side braids in front , brushed and tied the back , slapped some mousse on the ends of the ponytail and brushed that out then twisted it to have pretty curls.. then I slapped a bit of mousse on my head then tied a satin scarf on top to make it set. It dried faster and it was shiny but I'd say to get that shiny effect every night on the braid and hair then use the scarf to set it . I don't care for it so I just slap the scarf on. It's been five days now NO stress. Cause if I had used a cream or gel my hair would have been wet for a while
The AG line is one that I want to try next. I am still working on a routine for my hair. My grandson hair is where I like to try out different products. His hair is thick, long and curly. His hair dries out quickly. Your products list has shrunken down a lot.

I think I’m good. I gave away lots of products to friends and family. My stash now fits on one shelf. I’m good. Edited: I almost forgot I recently tried Ecoslays Lemon Buttercream for a twistout. I rarely do twists however this was THE BEST TWISTOUT that I’ve ever done. Got soooo many compliments.
I just recently switched to AG Boost and Balance for the shampoo and conditioner but now I really want to try the AG Curl Fresh duo too! I'm really loving the UFD Curly Magic and I Create Hold too! I used to really like the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker a lot but I'd find that it would flake with some leave-ins. HOWEVER, I also wonder if maybe you'd like it more now if you used it without a leave in. I never pay attention to product expiration dates either cause as much as I pay for some of them I plan to use EVERY LAST DROP lol. I think you'd really love the Trepadora Bamboo Ginseng Curling Glaze but it's out of stock until spring 😩

Maui moisture was all the talk of the town back in the day… until they had alot of controversy regarding their ingredients, especially regarding formaldehyde
That Malibu-C product is sulfate-free though, so begs the question how good of a clarifier is it when there's no sulfates in it. I need sulfates for clarifying or it's not going to do a thing; granted, I have a finicky scalp and I need the harsh cleansers.
It’s doesn’t have sulfates but has a strong surfactant called Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate. It is related to but not a sulfate and works tremendously well to remove dirt, pollutants, product buildup, and sweat.
@@JennJackson In Belgium where I am from it is in a product from Palmolive called "Palmolive Naturals" (yes shampoo from Palmolive LOL). And unfortunately, I have a scalp condition that requires full-on full strength sulfates for a very thorough cleanse, so SLS, SLES, and CBetaine. I know it well, Jenn, it's not cleansing enough for me.

I Have learned that certain types of alcohols are moisturizing… but I have looked at a few maui products And I decided not to get them due to the ISOPROPYL alcohol in them, Which is a drying alcohol.
Cetyl and cetearyl are the well known moisturising ones but do you know of any others or were those the ones you were referring? I'm just wondering if this any other ingredients in the Maui that assists the isopropyl from.drying out the hair? 🤔
