How often should you steam? What is to much ? Have a VERY DRY scalp so i got one to help moisturize but i dont want to overdue it

Yeah I’ll do a live stream again sometime in the future when I steam my hair or you can go back in my videos and watch an older one. You shouldn’t need anything on the floor- it’s not that messy

I just purchased the tabletop steamer, the one you recommended not getting because I got it before I saw this video lol.I will give it a try for a few months and see how I like it and invest in the professional ones that you recommend it .I saw 1 on the blog that I think I would like so I will get that for myself soon

I haven't tried one personally, but I don't imagine it being anymore beneficial than using a processing cap on your head with your body heat. It is useful but not the same as a steamer. But I could be wrong because again, I have never had first hand experience.

I have a question. Hope I'm not too late for you to see it. How does the steam help with frizz? I thought moisture causes our hair to frizz more.

The lack of moisture causes the hair to frizz. Locs will frizz as they are maturing through the locking process regardless but dry hair will make the locs excessively frizzy.

How do you put the essential oil in the hood ? Do you suggest spraying essential oil inside the hood?

You can, but like I said in the video the steamer is not really meant for them

Hey Jocelyn.. I've had one of the 'professional' grade steamers you linked in your blog for about 10 years (while a loose natural). I'm back to locs (3 mos microloc'd.... had traditional locs about 9 years ago). Anyway, I have a few questions, if you don't mind: What's your process for steaming (after poo but before herbal rinse)? I would love to see a video or read a blog with steps. Also, you suggested 30 min for steam time - does that apply no matter what type of locs you have? Finally, should locs be covered or uncovered (shower cap)? BTW, my first order with you was on Black Fri and I'm so glad I came upon this video bc I will be giving steaming a whirl with your products. Thank you!

Peace! Thank you for following my journey and for the support! I created a blog post with the steps for doing a steam treatment: curlynugrowth.com/deep-condition-locs-using-steamer/ Pretty sure I mention it in the article, but just in case, you don't want to cover your locs while doing a steam treatment, it would defeat the purpose of the steam penetrating the hair shaft. And the 30 minute rule is a maximum, not a minimum.

See now this video is super misleading. I clicked on a video that pictured several different steamers and titled Best Steamer for Locs. I'd attach the pic if I could. And Idc what the description says. Viewers don't click on descriptions (per your response to a viewer calling this out as click bate) and you know it. You also know product review videos get more traffic....far more traffic 9:41 seconds of someone talking. You intentionally mislead to lure in viewers. For that, you and everything you just blabbed about has been discredited. And if I'm so wrong, then change the picture & the title and state right at the beginning of the video that you're not reviewing products. Super Annoying
