I'm playing on almost the exact same settings, but I never thought of maxing the input threshold on the move stick for better responsiveness. It makes sense. That alone made watching this vid worth it. Thanks!!
I used your settings almost exact except maybe give or take 1-2 points for a couple deadones but the thresholds are the same. This is the best settings I've used so far, feels very responsive and smooth. I tried everyone else's settings and they felt clunky. Good stuff!
I've changed my mind on max input threshold for the move stick. I run a short left stick already, and sometimes I could use fine control of my movement for small adjustments to my aim while zoomed in. So I left MIT at default. For look though, yeah smaller MIT means more range of input, that plus a short or medium Kontrol Freak and you're golden. I think center deadzones are redundant if you're going to use any noticeable axial deadzone. Higher axial deadzones than what most pros are recommending, not far from default, feels more like classic Halo in my opinion. It's easier to run straight forward/back/left/right with higher axial, and it's easier to track left/right runners at a distance with higher axial on your aim stick. I started at zeros on my axials and kept bumping them up until I felt like it didn't take extra effort to do those things. Standard controllers need to use some variant of Bumper Jumper. I have buttons rather than paddles on the bottom of mine so Crouch and Jump feel great there. My scheme is Default with Melee moved to RB, Equipment to LB, Grenade to LT, and Zoom to RC.
Flamesword, you're very smart with your approach with controller. Today was experimenting with different controller sitting and swapped LT to shoot and RT for nades! Reason why you'll free your right hand and can focus on aiming strictly with your right hand and reducing tension.
The default controls are so dumb and if you try and change them around to recon or whatever. it changes the vehicle controls too. If you go recon it changes the up and down levers on the wasp. Which messed with my brain for like a year because I didn't get why it didnt feel right I have played reach for like 10 years. lol. I am inverted. so, it like drops your whole head as if it were a brick if you don't fiddle with those controls as well. hahahaha
Not gonna lie man, I might of found a good setting, I’m running your exact setup except horizontal I feel better at 5 sens than 6 but everything else wow I’m loving the results
Thanks Flamesword! So I use the 'Bumper Jumper' setting, and today I decided to switch some of the button bindings. With switch weapon on the d-pad you can switch weapons while still having your thumb on the look joystick (if you use aim/zoom as the right joystick). If you want to try it out It's bumper jumper and then customized. 'a' = switch grenade. 'x' = sprint 'y' = use equipment right on the d-pad = SWITCH WEAPON left on the d-pad = switch equipment
Dam man I’ve always played halo on default settings and I’m a 50 in halo CE hardcore doubles so I’m used to playing on 3 sensitivity I had to put the sensitivity down on halo infinite to a 3 so playing with 6 sensitivity has me seizing out in certain encounters It’s super frustrating. I’ve even managed to get both my accounts onyx with 3 sensitivity but I feel I need to play with a higher sensitivity to up my game to the next level
Man every time I'm in the halo main menu .and I try to scroll up and down ,I can't. It takes me down where your gamertag is and the setting and party button . But when I toggle left and right . It scrolls down to campaign and multi-player ect.. help ?? It's annoying 😒
I always used right toggle in to zoom but switched it on infinite it would affect my aim having to push it in so now I use left trigger and right toggle is melee
I have this weird bug where when I aim down sights on a sniper the zoom magnification will change sporadically on its own, this renders the sniper as practically unusable and is extremely frustrating. Anyone else deal with this on controller and have a fix?
You could try using a mouse to see if the bug is game related. Could be that your controllers right stick button is faulty. Does it happen in Halo 5 for instance?
My settings were all fucked up! I my max input thresholds were 15 and my axial were both 0 and i adjusted the centers instead for stick drift and i have maintained a 1.5 kd…. I am going to give this theory a spin
Lucid has his look thumbstick max input threshold at 15. Not saying his sens is the best, its just interesting seeing how polar opposite some pros senses are
@@flamesword He has his look and move both at 15. The Halo HQ on RU-vid posted a video 12 days ago with his settings. Not sure if he’s changed them since
you didnt play the older halos? It was always right stick for zoom. As long as you have the zoom on a toggle, so you click to aim and then click again to go back, it wont affect your aim. Having to hold down the stick would definitely not be good
Ha I landed on 6 sensitivity as well! I also adjusted my aim stick by adding in an aggressive aim response curve(elite 2 controller) and true diagonal. I adjusted my move stick too by maxing threshold lowering axial and center deadzones
I use a tall kontrol freek right stick and non concave short left stick. Left stick: default aim response curve true diagonals. Curve adjustment lowest Right stick: aggressive curve. True diagonals. Curve adjustment lowest. Now as far as the in game settings go: Look acceleration 3. Sensitivity 6 for both. Move thumbstick center deadzone on 3. Max threshold 15. Axial dead zone 2. Look thumbstick: center deadzone .5. Max threshold 0. Axial deadzone .5
I had solo’d all the way to diamond 4 without solidifying a sensitivity and I’ve switch to that 6.5/6.0 theory and I’m now diamond 6 will hit onxy tomorrow or the next day and have been having consistent 50%+ accuracy and tracking seems ON POINT! Would recommend Edit: I’ve also only been playing Infinite for almost 4 weeks and have been out of competitive fps shooters for some years after being a lifelong comp player. The 6.5/6.0 sensitivity with 4 acceleration feels so smooth
I think I will give 6.5 another go though cause I did play on it before with 3 accel and really enjoyed it but I think on 4 or 5 accel it was kind of fast after being on 3 for so long. I move down to 6 after that but anything you play on long enough you can master it so I just have to pick a accel already.
Thank you so much I was playing halo infinite a couple of days ago and it didn't feel good but after seeing this it made it very much better for me to play at my best thank you
Dang again he missed going over the offset settings. I see all the pros have found the sweet spot as they all look the same. What is the best offset settings the pros use? Horizontal, vertical and depth.
there is none lol, it all depends on how far your monitor is,valorant is 103, its a good standard, max fov in apex is 120ish in this game, id say 103 atleast is best for widescreen 16:9.
@@flamesword I was struggling to find the right sens after watching your first video (kept trying 5, 6, 7) but none felt right at all. Lowered my look axial to 5 and sticking with 6h, 6v and it feels ALOT more natural. Movement also feels better with max input at 15. Feels like I can actually play the game how I want now. Thanks for the reply + updated video 👍
Any merit in putting your melee button on the back paddle so you do not have to take your right thumb off the right thumb stick while aiming and need to melee? (Recon setting)
@@rileygshep7606 claw is also pretty terrible for your hands, even more terrible for your joints and fingers than just normal grip. It's not smart to play long term really, unless you really are that close to being a professional, in which case maybe the money/career path would be worth permanent damage to fingers/wrists. Depends on the person, I think it's reasonable to want to have optimal settings without putting extra unnecessary strain on your hands.
What he says is true. Intelligent man. The speed of movement is 6.5 and 6 like he said. Game has always been like that. Not many people know that. Dont think that you have to play on low sens because everyone tells you that. The game was engineered a certain way and thats needs to be taken advantage of. Excellent video. Ive been watching you since halo 3
@@TheNotoriousMIC I think it is all preference: hand size, finger length, etc. I use the smaller ones cause I want more bend in my fingers vs them being stretched out (if that even sounds like it makes sense)
Am I crazy or do you have the max input threshold backwards? The way I read the description, is that higher on the setting (ie. 15) would increase the distance needed to hit max speed. Setting it to 0 would decrease it. Therefore, at 0, you hit max speed way before your stick hits the edge. I think this is the opposite of what you're going for.
Zero max input threshold means the edge of the controller is the max. The higher you put it, the closer to the center of the stick area is where you’ll reach max speed. The setting should be used in theory only to eliminate slow turn like 360 controllers had where in a certain direction your stick might only have registered like 96% movement. If that makes sense
