Thanks for the video. Alot of tw products the last few yrs are great . For a guy on his way home from work and stops at Walmart this is great . For a professional restoration naw . If I'm charging 100$ and up I'm sticking with my 3m sanding disc's, 3m plastic headlight polish and megs headlight spray coating . Made for headlights, more consistent results and lasts 2 to 3 yrs plus instead of 6 to 12 months.
Nice looking kit. You're right about the foil packs. Should be a spray bottle for protection. Or they should provide a few of each for multiple headlights. Seems like this would be good for one application on one car and that's about it.
Puppy has her own ride. I think thats wonderful. T.W. made a cool kit for folks that wanna try fixing their own headlights. Some states, ive heard, make you keep the lens clear by law. Not here in Wisconsin (that i know of). Cool kit. Thanks Brian.
I’ve used the TW kit before. As you mentioned it is easy to work with and delivers decent results. My only problem with them was the coating. By the time I’d reached a year on the multiple vehicles I’d done for friends and family, they were already failed and needed touch up and a better coating. Tried Cerakote on my brothers truck, and Adams graphene/ceramic on my oldest truck. After a recent purchase and experience I’m thinking I’ll start using BC1 for this going forward…
I also have used the Cerakote kit with good results. It comes with two packs each of there clear coat wipes and an oxidation removing wipes. I did two vehicles a year ago from one kit and they are holding up well so far.
I've used the Sylvania kit, only lasted 6 months, (1yr+ w ceramic coat on top) but it comes w a bottle of UV protection clear coat I can reuse over and over again.
Turtle Wax makes good quality products and the lenses should stay clear for a year. The only disappointment was the poly single use one size fits all gloves in the kit. A microfiber towel would have been nice too. Otherwise this kit will work! Thank you for another great video!
The issue isn't the restoration, it's protection that's key here. If the sealant fails after a year or so, then it wasn't really worth it, but of course it is subjective. I want to finally use the Cerakote sealant on my headlights, but both times I've bought the kit, the sealant after a relatively short period of time hardens in the foil pack. So if you use that kit, use it quickly if you live in a hot climate, as it will become useless very quick. Other than that hope to see how well this holds up Brian. BTW, Puppy is just beautiful! What a gorgeous good girl and great shop manager!
It’s a dogs life ! Her own Escalade ! They need to do the sand paper on 3 inch round discs so that you could use them on a polisher . Great Product at the lower prices …. 😊
I just did headlights yesterday on a 15 altima. Looked like someone sprayed something on them and it etched the plastic. I sanded then used compound and polish. The lights looked "better" but I could still see where whatever was sprayed on them.
Hey there I have a quick question. I've noticed in the other videos about this product they use tape to make sure the surrounding paint does not get damaged. Even on the box it says to use masking tape around the light. Is this necessary or is it because you didn't really have any paint to worry about because the Cadillac has a HUGE headlight. I'm trying to do it without tape. If possible...
