I do not have a bunch of experience with different trimmers, but I absolutely love the brio! One of my first "big" beard purchases, and I do not regret one penny! The charge hold is unreal!
I bought the Brio on your suggestion and never looked back. They are great. One thing the Brio has over all other trimmers I've ever seen: is the battery display on the face. You always know exactly how much battery life you have left. And as you said....they last for months on a single charge.
I’ve used that same Wahl trimmer for almost 2 years. Not having multiple power settings isn’t a dealbreaker 95% of time but if you wanna be fancy and go Brio, cool. The battery is lithium ion, I charge it maybe once every 2-3 months. I do wish Wahl had a ceramic guard for closer trims but other than that it’s an amazing product imo.
I have the Wahls and the new black Brio. The Wahls I had first and I've had them for a couple years. They are awesome trimmers all the way around. The Brio Beardscapes I just bought a month ago and I fell in love with them. They too are awesome all the way around. I'm glad I found them watching your videos. There's pros and cons to both trimmers, but having both trimmers together I have exactly all I want and need. It was the perfect beard trimmer marriage lol Don't mind my profile pic either because it's way old, and I can't figure out how to change it. I have a ruffly 8 inch long beard now that I keep up with. Thanks for introducing the Brio trimmers. My life is complete now lol Stay bearded brother
I will say too that Brio comes with a way better awesome travel pouch. It's a zip up hard pouch so you don't have to worry about banging up your trimmers. Definitely better protection when traveling. This was a big deal for me because I travel alot.
Great video Scuba! I can’t wait to get my Beardscape’s !! You should include the Andis Select Cut Trimmers in your budget video to see how they do, haven’t tried them but they are kinda similar to the Beardscape.
Been watching your videos and just ordered my Brio Beardscape in the UK. Thanks for all the vids man, loving the style of the content as well as the beard itself. When are you doing a budget trimmer vid?
For people watching this video because they’re trying to decide which good quality trimmer to get I can say, personally I’ve owned the Remington Lithium and it’s a gem, it’s not as fancy as the Wahl but it’ll get the job done. No disrespect to the Wahl however, the Wahl is without a doubt nicer
The Brio is also unique as the display provides battery life details unlike most competitors. The Brio’s are my favorite beard trimmers of all that I own.
Over/Under on how many times Scuba called the Wahl Trimmers “The Remington” is 15. Haha. Great Video Scuba as always! I go with the multi tool method. Have a Brio Beardscape, Wahl Pro Detailer, and an Andis Profoil Plus. Use the Brio Beardscape for beard shaping and trims. Use the Wahl Pro Detailer for cheek and neck lines. Use the Andis Profoil Plus for getting that smooth finish at the end. I think for sure you can use the Beardscape and just use a straight razor or regular razor to finish off. Beardscapes are phenomenal. The ability to adjust length and precision is top notch with them. Def worth having in the arsenal!
I got the brio axis and need to upgrade to the beardscapes as my beard is longer, as far as the axis the brio brand seems awesome can’t wait to get the full size beardscape, ps love the Dr.Disrespect tee I have the exact same one
Love my Beardscape as well; I travel often and knowing I can just plug it into the laptop for some extra juice is great. Not that I've needed to since it hasn't seemed to need a charge for the past 5 months so far.
Yo Scuba, about to grab me that Wahl coz we dont have Brio in South Africa yet. Love your vids and watched every single one of them. you inspired me to start a channel of my own as we don't have beardtubers in my country either. Keep up the good work and say hi to Mom for me lmao
I have and love the brio, my only issue is that the blade gets so so so hot that I have burned my face a couple of times, so be aware of that, not sure if it is my pair or if it is a general issue, but if you leave it on for a couple of minute at full blast then be careful if you are going to put them directly to the face...
Thanks for the video. I’m not familiar with your channel, so maybe you have reviewed these, but how do you feel about the Phillips Norelco multigroom 7000?
As a comparison, I have had 2 Wahl 9854L trimmers and they were a real disappointment. Batteries were great, lasting a long time, but the cutting head didn't last as long as the battery charge. They plugged easily and tugged at the hair. I need a new trimmer, so looks like Brio may be it.
I havnt tried the brio.. Just an fyi.. Many different heads, including a precision head detail t blade is available.. I have been very happy with the product.. Battery last forever.. May try the brio just to know the dif.. Great video
Brio is where it's at. Been using them for a while and I have no complaints. Stays charged for many trims, fast recharge, adjustable settings, quite, easy to fade bc of the slight length adjustment increments... the list really does go on and on. Side note, not safe to use on your junk. js.
Ok so I’m hair-free at the moment. But I’m looking for equipment to upkeep the growing out process. I’m going for a clean even look not gonna be growing it out too long. But I’m completely unaware of what I’d need. I’ve looked into Braun and Wahl. You’ve now brought up Brio to my attention but I feel like that would mostly benefit lumberjack beards ? Any advice would be splendid thank you again and Happy Holidays.
Much love and beard envy my friend. I'm a subscriber and I've watched many of your videos. My gripe about this video is when you raise up a specific trimmer and refer to it as "this", I don't know which one it is. I am watching most videos on my phone which may be why I can't read the brand on the trimmer and perhaps I would be able to watching it on a TV.
Bro, the look on your face and reaction when you used the nose hair trimmers were legit hilarious. Made me laugh out loud. It's also exactly how I feel when I use them. They work well (on my other shaver), but I'm guessing that's a universal reaction. Thanks for the reviews, I have the Brio's, and they really are like a katana blade (Hatori Hanso ofcourse) through cheese cake!!!
I just wanna say I bought the Brio after your first video two years ago reviewing it and haven't even thought about reaching for anything else, It does literally anything, probably the best grooming investment I've ever made.
@@papaaquchala8460 I still have the exact same one from this comment lol just used it Thursday to clean up. Best beard product I've ever bought and I'll stand by that.
You get 4 attachments with the Brio now and a travel case if I am not mistaken. I know this because getting the other two attachments and the travel case have been a bastard to get hold of here in the UK
As far as guards, do you recommend the Whal because if the guards? I am at 11 weeks now and will probably keep my beard 2 inches or so, when we go back to full corporate work. I don't know millimeters vs inches or whatever, but will the Brio be enough? My profile pic is at 7 weeks.
I have had Remington and wasn’t a fan, to cheaply made. Wahl is decent. Haven’t had the Brio. Thanks for the comparison Scuba. Stay bearded brother 👍🏾.
For the Wahl trimmer top just pull the blade and tilt back and off. Had 4 of the stainless ones and they keep fucking up for the charge port. Hopefully they fixed that. Loved them tho. Still need a Brio. Remington ones ok still have them and use it. Fairly reliable.
Zup bro, at end when you found out about the attachment, you have me lmao!! Bro. How hard is it to maintain the Brio, those $16-$20 ones are a pain to clean, hair gets stock and the battery don’t last.
How does the brio do on the balls?? And I’m coming from a old crappy Remington and they are cheap and I’ve never liked it I knew I made a mistake on the purchase as soon as I unboxed it but I’ve dealt with it for five years now I’m upgrading but I don’t think I’ll be able to do without the close shave accessory because I have enjoyed getting the shave affect with that accessory it did work well and I’m sure a better brand would do a even better job but the brio doesn’t come with that attachment, does it still give a skin close shave??
The Brio looks exactly what I'm looking for to replace my broken Wahl. The Wahl ..same model you show..was decent. After three years and probably dropping it once the plastic power button has fallen off.
I’m a huge fan of Wahl and had some of their trimmers that have lasted half a decade or more. I really want to like the Wahl because it looks good and it’s built sturdy. The ONLY problem is they have a known faulty power switch… causes the razor to turn on and off randomly and the switch just stops working. I’m not sure if they fixed this but ever since they released that specific razor it’s a known issue. Wahl has fantastic battery life and if it has a ceramic blade I’d be willing to try it, but I’m not sure if they fixed the switch so I’ll probably have to pass on the Wahl. The Brio gives you a battery screen so you know where you’re at. Never had a ceramic blade and I’m currently using the old, old version of the Remington and I lost my charging block because I don’t use them that much. Wish they made USB-C charging razor
As you become older, ear and nose hair start to sprout. Ear hair is completely useless, if it kept my ears warm in winter, I'd keep it. Nose hair is unsightly and unless you're going to let it grow to hide patches in your moustache, it must go also. The Wahl looks attractive to me because of the attachments but man it's loud. I am, currently, in need of a trimmer and will have to make a decision. Thanks for the video.
I have the Wahl. Been using it for for close to 10 years. Really like it, but ordered the brio just to try it. One thing about the Wahl, the trimmer blades come off just as easy as the Rem in your video. I'm back..on edit. It WAS the Wahl in the video haha.
I wonder what's best for a long beard. When i see trimmers they mostly go up to a max of 20mm. So for longer settings you would go into hair clipper territory right? Do you have any advice?
What ? Long bearded people use open blades like he shows in the video or scissors... You wouldn't need a hair clipper randomly because your beard is longer. There is no difference in a hair clipper and a beard clipper except size of blade and attachments. After a half inch of beard you should be free hand trimming not using attachments. Long attachments like hair trimmers attachments are huge and don't contour to your face well.
Where is the brio produced? My trimmer (Moser 1901-0460 ) Made in Hungary + Germany for around 55$ is almost the same as the brio besides i can't change the length of the blade (which sounds nice but not like i would ever use it) - i miss the cleaning tools a bit and oil as starter
Can anyone, with knowledge of this Wahl stainless steel trimmer, and also the similarly priced Wahl Aquablade triimmer model (which apparently is Wahl's closest cutting beard trimmer) recommend between these two Wahl trimmers which is the one they would recommend (for better performance. build quality and feel in the hand). Also, how good is the close shaving foil blade head on this Wahl stainless steel trimmer featured in this video?
Can you guys compare a beard trimmer that is also really good for a smooth / almost smooth shave? I think most trimmers don’t actually shave up to 0.00mm but many say they come close. I always shave the neck area because my skin gets very itchy there is I don’t. I’m desperately searching for a trimmer that has good trimming features but is ALSO able to make the skin as smooth or basically as close to 0,00mm as possible
you generally slow down the speed if you want a more precise cut...but also, it makes the battery last longer, if you lose your charger, or on a trip or something
I've had a beard since I was first able to. That was when I was 17 in 1989 or do. I waited until the hair wasn't patchy. So I would pay a few hundred dollars for a premium electric beard trimmer.
Stupid question here, but what’s the difference between a clipper and a trimmer? I’m looking for the best way to keep my beard tidy but different people suggest different clippers/trimmers and seem to be using them interchangeably Thanks
Clippers mostly require being plugged in thus allowing them to be more powerful at cutting more hair. It’s what a lot of barbers and hair stylists use. Trimmers are mostly wireless and meant for home/personal use. They aren’t as powerful, but have more functions than clippers.
Im curious why they even call it trimmers and not.. Scapers or something When its about removing bulk og strands (trimming the shape or just shortening the whole section of beard) I always opt for the supercheap corded hairclipper because of bigger and deeper teeth and stronger motor, when i need to repeat its only because of flat hairs.. Then i get the trimmer (again why, i dont comprehend the choice of name) to do the delicate things, lines etc... If there are visible fade-like because of the last 0,4mm the trimmer didnt get i just go for oneblade or a razor.. I hate buying new trimmers because its such a polarized world of shopping reviewers and it honestly makes me doubtful some times, but then again, its always about about them trying to use it like a hairclipper, and no one calls them out on it
