Sorry to hear that Dave Bob. As you would have seen from the video TUI are also my favourite but objectively based on the criteria mentioned, Jet2 edged it.
I must give a thumbs up for Jet2, as I use them regularly. Their flight times out of Manchester to my preferred destinations suit me and my budget. The fares you show are all very high. Were they last minute prices? I am sure if you book in advance, you can get better deals
I love Tui I am going to Las Palmas from Manchester with them in August, went last year and was the best flight that I had had in a long time, the 787-8 Dreamliner was amazing, the windows are so good
Thomas cook are going down and Tui got saved as they where going down as Thomsons , both had major loss but jet2 haven’t had any loss in the years of operations and are the second largest tour operator in the U.K. so my favourite , they need long haul routes tho
I certainly hope that Thomas Cook survive for the sake of the staff. Too many airlines have vanished this year already. If Jet2 offered more long haul they could possibly have won this comparison. They do have a strong business model so likely don't see the benefit.
Thomas Cook are amazing. They offer so many cross Atlantic flights for us northerners. Its too bad that because they control that market for the north that their flights are higher than those in the south.
I think the real winner here is Jet2 as they are the only British airline. Will Thomas Cook continue to be number one after posting losses this week of 163 million quid. Will they change their model for next year? Time will tell, nice video Blake.
Well done Thomas Cook! Its true, and I'm not just saying it because they are my favourite, they really are very very good. Thanks for doing this video Blake, and showing Thomas Cook in such a good light!
Samuel Knight Ok. I used to like Airbus, but was probably Monarch that I liked it so much, but prefer the 737 now especially the Sky Interior on Jet2 & TUI Airways
I'm a fan of Jet2 simply because of the extra seat space and luggage allowance Also it's a English company and another great thing I like about Jet2 I have always had really good customer service through online chat over the phone Çheck in staff Cabin and Cockpit Crew . Due to having lots of bad experience with Thomas Cook between 1998 and 2006 I have boycotted them .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As I said in the video everyone has their own views based on personal experiences and it’s interesting to see the different experiences that people have had.
Yes when I was young I remember I wanted to know where we were and I asked a flight attendant and the flight attendant asked the captain and the captain made an announcement for the entire aircraft just for me. and a few other good things have happened to me on TUI but I’m to lazy to type them out
Going to menorca on a jet2 737-800 hope it’s good it’s my second time abroad (second time on jet2 and it is very comfy tui would be best prob but their ads lost my trust)
Not a bad shout Joseph but I have already compared Easyjet, Ryanair and Norwegian so would be covering the same ground. Also.... not a Wizz Air fan so doubt I could be objective!
I hope that you enjoy the trip Adele. I have a more recent review of Thomas Cook available too ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ll9wJqUkLrc.html
I have to say my last 2 flights with Tui have been dreadful and I found the video biased towards Tui. I used to work for Thomas Cook, but have a huge soft spot for Jet2. Never had any issues with them and their luggage allowance is amazing. Both tui and Thomas Cook start at 15kg for luggage and any more has to be payed for. Jet2 go straight in at 22kg. Excellent.
How did Tui come last place!!!!???.Also Tui would obviously be the most expensive airline to travel on because of there service. It is also amazing that they fly the 787-8/9 to short haul places which no other airline does. Your saying that Thomas cook are the best but they are lacking passenger growth and are struggling to stay in business. This shows that more people want to fly with Tui than Thomas cook because even though Tui are more expensive, its worth spending the money with their great service and luxury aircraft.
This is tui !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blake Edgington - Airborne Definitely, my Mums friend lost her job as a Thomas Cook air hostess, and my Aunt and Uncle had a flight booked for Cancun in October which they will have to rebook now :( Flew Thomas Cook in July from Manchester to Majorca and back, had no clue that was my last time flying that airline
wrong. ryanair is the best. jet2 forces you to turn your phone OFF during takeoff and landing. thomas cook is fine, tui is expensive and delayed all the time. easyjet overbooks. ryanair is the only real answer
Mine was with Caledonian, who then became JMC. I also flew with Britannia. Sad that the era of charter airlines is gone, with just TUI and Thomas Cook left.
E PLAYS 4 FUN I am aware but thanks. I was responding to someone claiming to be a Thomas Cook pilot on the A350 😂 their comment seems to have been deleted.
Aren't there quite a number of other "airlines" although for the UK all of this is subject to major revision post Brexit (ah well there is always Blackpool or Brighton). Then again there is Pitcairn Island in the South Pacific. No airport, hotels, or much electricity but it is BRITISH!
My family and I use to go abroad every year on Thomas Cook but now travel Jet2. Twice while traveling on Thomas Cook our flight was delayed by approximately 4 hours!! Jet2 is far better!! But I have never personally travelled TUI
Have to admit i was a britannia flyer also. Tui have let me down with their punctuality for the last 3 years from manchester. Three hours late this year on the first flight of the day. Blake you should compare again on punctuality for a future blog.
Tui has always been my favourite still eventhough in August I had a short 6 hour delay with tui but there holidays and cruises are well worth the money along with the flights
I have flown with all these airlines and my favourite of the all has to be Jet 2 although i have not had any serious bad experiences with any of the airlines for me Jet 2 takes the edge from the friendly staff to the amazing package deals not to mention the leg room onboard. Coming in second place i believe Tui is a brilliant airline and they do come in close behind Jet 2 by there friendly staff again but their IFE on board the 767 and 787 aircraft which was a bonus to have on a mid range flight. Despite Thomas cook having some what of an IFE system they do unfortunatly come last by their no so pleasent and inviting staff which i did experience not only onboard the aircraft but also due to a miss understanding on there end at baggage check in, also the lack of leg room was a real let down to me during the flight. To me cabin mood lighting is not an important factor however food service was great on most airlines apart from some minor issues ( I honestly cant tell the difference between airline catering XD) Which leaves me with the answer of Jet 2 being my personal favourite airline given by the amazing leg room amazing staff members and the fantastic baggage allowence). When i was onboard jet 2 unfortunatly both of the flights i was on didnt have the model 757 which i was looking to purchase however one of the amazing staff memebers at Jet 2 sent me the model aircraft a week after the flight once i sent them a message explaining my issue. THANK YOU! For me Jet 2 would become the ultimate airline through proggressing in the only way by either adding IFE systems on board thir aircrafts and adding more route destinations. WELL DONE JET 2!!! (None of them will live up to the standerd of Monarch ;) )
Completely with you regarding Monarch, one of my favourite airlines. I tried to be completely objective in this video and put my personal preference aside (TUI for me) and was genuinely surprised that Thomas Cook won. Jet2 are an airline that I have flown with a further 3 times since this video came out and they have definitely grown on me.
They changed the name to bring the company under one brand as the European parts of the group were known as TUI. I do miss Thomson myself and going even further back, Britannia.
