Thanks to Heatable for making filming this possible, Remember using EVNICK75 gets £75 off battery only install or EVNICK150 gets £150 off battery and solar installs evnick.com/solar all my stats evnick.com/heatable for solar and battery quotes evnick.com/heatable/battery for battery quotes

I have an older pylontech battery system, though if I were to do this from scratch again, I would seriously consider the SigEnergy Inverter and battery option ... worth having a look into this as installers who have installed these seem to rave about the simplicity and functionality offered by this system.

I had three plyontech 2.5kwh bstteries up to this year and choose to sell them and get my self Value battery from Fogstar 15.5Kwh fot £2500 very pleased with it so far.

Superb video Nick. We currently have 4kW of PV and a Soltaro AIO Hybrid 5kWh system. I’m looking at upgrading to a Tesla PW3 but have a couple of questions. The Soltaro is installed in our internal porch and the connections for PV obviously currently come there too. 1. Could the PW3 with Gateway be installed legally there now? I had heard something about regulations meaning that new installations need to be outside? 2. Could Heatable take away the existing Soltaro AIO and ensure the internal LFP battery was either re-used or properly recycled? FYI we are in Hebden Bridge.

I can’t answer 2 but I assume they could, I think I can use your other battery in one of my projects or you could try offer it locally for say £500 get someone snaps it up! Regarding 1 the rules on PAS are guidelines and not regulations so currently yes and your doing a direct replacement also so shouldn’t be issue

Dont know if enphase are top of the tree for micro inverters, AP sytems and Hoymiles are kicking arse at the min.

Any reason the Sigenergy sigstor battery wasn’t included? Artisan Electrics had made a good case for that being the best home energy battery system currently available in their June 2024 RU-vid video

Hi Stephen, this video apart from Heatable being a channel sponsor contains no paid promotional companies, as in all the battery system you see are ones heatable have tested and vetted. These are the batteries that give them the the least hassle short and long term. Heatable is pretty unique that it fits more than 2 different brands but these systems give the best overall customer satisfaction but also the easiest commissioning and installs. I have to respect there findings on this part

Thanks Nick. But miffed why you didn't mention the options for current Tesla pw2 owners. I understand that I can't add pw3 to the pw2. What are we pw2 owners going to do when we need more storage.
@NicolasRaimo
@NicolasRaimo 4 дня назад
Hi David as mentioned your option is upgrade storage now while still some stock… buy used PW2 down the line… or finally sell your current PW2 and upgrade to the 3
@davidgates3498
@davidgates3498 4 дня назад
@@NicolasRaimo thanks it's a bit more complicated for me. As I have two solar systems 14 x panels are on the 2015 FIT scheme. If I sell the pw 2 and replace with the pw3, then as I understand it, I will lose my FIT tarif. I will probably buy a second pw2 soon as I want to have the extra capacity for the cosy 6 (would love to see your Initial review) and a Tesla model y. The rest of the house will then be fully electric.

@@davidgates3498 start of video we talk about how you can keep FIT just replace pw2 with 3 and keep existing solar inverter and run 3 as AC coupled or buy 2 while Heatable got stock… Members of RU-vid get cosy6 videos first and public around 1-3 weeks after first video out for members already and public release is Sunday

How does FIT generation get measured if I wire solar PV into the Tesla PW3 as mentioned in video around 2:40? Would FIT AC meter measure from output of battery and thus suffer small battery charge/discharge efficiency loss? What do you mean by setting to 4 kW? Is this total battery AC output or some solar string tracker setting? I’m waiting for PW3 to be installed by Heatable, I got G99 at full 11 kW. If in the future I were to wire solar DC to PW3, would I need to downgrade AC output capacity? Finally, you mentioned old solar string inverter on the way out. What sort of symptoms would it exhibit? Thanks, great summary video BTW.
@Heatable
@Heatable 7 дней назад
1. FIT is measured on generation, not usage. 2. Adding a battery to FIT won't make any difference. 3. You would not need to downgrade output of AC, it would not have an impact as you're already at the max. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@wyx087
@wyx087 7 дней назад
@@Heatable Thanks for your reply. FIT generation (thus payment) is measured by AC meter after the inverter. I’m sorry I’m not understanding. How would that work if the DC strings are wired directly into the hybrid battery such as PW3? My current understanding is that the hybrid battery will directly charge DC through built-in string MPPT, the battery then only outputs AC as when needed. So there is no longer any way to directly measure solar-only generation via the FIT registered AC meter. So I’m not sure how your proposed way would work in terms of FIT generation measurement.
@NicolasRaimo
@NicolasRaimo 7 дней назад
Way I understand it is you need a NET Meter, So you'd apply to change the generation meter same time to a new NET meter. This means any power you'd use to charge the battery FROM the grid would be deducted for the power that came out of battery back to the home. So in real world this would happen, your solar would fill the DC batteries... if the house need power from DC batteries then meter would count that in generation. If batteries were full that power would go threw generation meter and count that in generation. If you charged the DC battery from the grid at 1kwh and then home needed 2 kw later on the generation meter would deduct 1kw from that meaning you'd only get 1kw of generation. This means its the same as you have now as your on deemed export
@wyx087
@wyx087 7 дней назад
@@NicolasRaimo oh okay. Thank you for explaining. I get it now because maths works. I didn’t know battery net metering is a thing recognised by FIT scheme. Thanks for explaining, opens up an option for me when the 10 years old inverter kicks the bucket.
