Fighting torrent does not help. The moment torrent dies (and he will) you have to fill out a survey to summon him back whilst this guy charges at you.

This is legitimately the one boss in the entire DLC and main game that I just don’t care to beat. I’ve tried for hours and his hit boxes suck. Just spam the charge. I swung at him 6 times in a row and nothing even landed when I was right next to him. This fight can suck it.

I saw a reddit thread of how they describe this boss is from sekiro but your playing ds3 and it never felt more true. I truely dont know what they were smoking because 2 paths away is one of my favorite bosses in the entire game series.

This boss needs a nerf or something. Literally I can take down Messmer but this thing tramples me every time, even when I try and cheese it.

He always kills me when hes about to die, i fking hate him not even melania was this painful i mean for real wtf was they thinking, the whole fking concept is a torture.

I found another easy way to beat him. You see, the problem that I saw was that people were tying to beat him with skill, learning his moves, and having reaction time. No sir, that is not how you beat him. You have to be a fucking coward like me! Yes sir, I let my summon distract him while I used rotten breath on him. Then once he had the scarlet rot, I ran like hell. Yeah, he tried to chance me, but my minion kept getting his attention. So I sat and watched from a distance as his health melted away.

ohh my god, it's so true what you said, he can't do me any harm as long as I keep calm and my shield up while he attacks. I can't believe it my friend, I can't believe I killed him, thank you, thank you, thank you. You really earned my subscription.

I managed to kinds of cheese him by using the 5 shield guard Spirit Ashes. They almost lock him in place, then I spammed the Holy Wave attack from a safe distance. I think I only got hit once. I tried legitimately fighting him, but he's stupidly OP!

If you try to fight him legit, you’re going to be here all day. Summon the 5 shield guys and use mohg’s spear weapon art when he’s distracted. Super easy

Took hours of trying but with almost the same set up (minus certain talismans) I FINALLY got him! Im going to duplicate his soul and take both of his boss items so I never have to do this again lol

This was legit a life saver. I beat him with this build in one try. Granted my stats were much higher than yours so I probably had an easier time than other ppl 😂😂😂. But still I appreciate this guide

Great guide. with bloodhound fang I was able to reach the second phase , then I changed the build and used mohg spear with this shield. I wasn’t able to beat him until I saw ur vid . really thanks bro I wish you a great day

First off: Thank you! That worked brilliantly!!! But, I was lucky, I had the 48 Strength to wield the shield. I think some people would have been happy if you mentioned that.

Was struggling until I realized you can summon Torrent. Horseback battle is the way to beat him.

I had the chance to beat him again in NG+ but this time I managed to beat him more easily with impenetrable thorns, so i recommended you guys to put on alberich set, lord of blood exultation, stonebarb cracked tear, trolls roar or greyolls roar and the best staff that you can wield or staff of guilty and spam those thorns, in seconds you will break his stance use that chance to crit hit him and continue

Best way to beat Gaius is getting your scudtree level up... I got to Gaius after killing Mesmer. I was playing without using guidance up to Mesmer so had missed most of the optional bosses and areas so had a mediocre scudtree level (9). Was stuck on Gaius for about almost a week so gave up and did more other optional areas using guides to find how to get there - when I came back with scudtree level 13 he became much, much more manageable.

This strategy 100% worked. Thank you so much. One of the most annoying bosses so far.

I’m doing my second dlc play through without ashes and it’s been ridiculously hard with this boss

Killed him fairly quickly by spamming wave of gold with Tiche as a distraction.With good setup one cast does around 6500 damage.

Man I just used vow of the indomitable and spammed multilayered ring of light every time he recovered after the charge and poisoned him eventually until he died

I tried this a few times and I almost beat him, but I thought I’d try different strategy which was using the great shield soldier ashes with the sacred relic sword. Just roll through him on his first attack out the door and turn around he’ll be totally focusing his attention on the soldiers while you spam the relic sword he never came at me once just make sure you’ve got extra FP flasks

I don't have that shield, but after many attempts I switched to a different great shield and the blasphemous blade. I finally beat him after two more attempts.

Honestly just get your mimic equip any lvl 25 shield use the blade of blasphemy and stand on the opposite side of your mimic then hit him when he targets your mimic, your mimic will do the same when he targets you PS - keep in mind that he will kill your mimic incredibly swiftly but this method will help lower his hp

If you can get two people who have the thorn spell to help you and you can manage to keep them alive while they thorn him to death, this boss ass is grass. The downside is if they die, you get stuck all alone fighting him while he has the extra layer of HP and defense tact on, which makes him even worse than he already is when you fight him alone from the start without summoning anyone to help.

For his ram attack try dodging to the side. Worked for me every time

I just beat him using the lightning perfume bottle at +24 with rolling sparks. I also used the great shield spirit ashes with golden vow. It was insanely easy because you dont have to worry about his tiny hit box

Yeah, the fact that you can roll the Boar charge but you still take some damage is BS. Just run away when you see the boar start to swing its head and double roll for the boars last strike, because the follow up can only be dodged with a double roll (not enough time if you dont ) Also for the phase2 spinning tackle, roll into it and you will get a massive opening to attack him (lke 4 secs )

I got him down to a slither of health on my first try with shield poking. My spear doesn't do a lot of damage to him though, so it's a proper battle of attrition.

This same strategy works for the finger ruins of miyr boss fight the key is have poise up as high as possible the higher the better makes it harder to get you staggered. Also let the boss attack then counter or heal definitely don’t get greedy.

For some reason this guy reminds me of one of the first bosses in Sekiro. That dude on horseback. Maybe its bc Im equally enraged. Good to have that old feeling though, it will make the victory all the sweeter.. someday haha

I’ll play through this DLC once, but after that I’m done. They just went way overboard with these bosses. Next game they make, the bosses will just one shot you.

For the charging hog，roll underneath the belly of that beast before the nose of that monstrosity touches you

Wouldnt mind if they nerfed his damage by like 80% 90% Even on a horse torrent is unreliable since he often respawns with half hp

I don't understand why every single video I watch of boss fights in Elden Ring has the bosses behaving so much more calmly and slowly than they do when I fight it. Doesn't matter what boss it is, these videos have the bosses standing around for 3 seconds at a time after they finish their combos, the bosses somehow miss you when you heal, and just in general, don't move around nearly as much. Radahn, Malenia, Rellana, Renalla, Godfrey, Radagon it doesn't matter. Every time I fight them it's like they're turned up to 11 compared to the videos showing you how to fight them. I have more stamina than your character, exact same shield, weapon, armor and crystal tears, and somehow my stamina is running out after 3 attacks, while you're standing here tanking entire combos

first try, same weapon/talismans just with the golden greatshield instead and mimic tear, this is the way.

I used up 5 magic flasks with lightning knight spears and only hit him twice it won’t track his ass

BEFORE anyone calls me a pussy for looking this up, I’m on ng+5 and I’m trying to cheese this fight as easy as possible

Once again, I beat him with Moonveil. I carry a lot of weapons that I frequently use, but for bosses, Moonveil + Shard of Alexander + Carian Filigreed is the best for my pure int build, especially for shitty hitboxes. Bit annoying as I think the weapon is getting boring. Edit: And don't forget Boiled Crab, it really helps.

He makes like 1/3 dmg to you, compare that what he does to me. I think you must be at some NG ++. For me like every 2 hits is a death, sometimes 1 good hit :D This fight is ridicilous. I've already tried like 100 times. But I'll surely get him soon :D

In Ng+ doing the dlc for a second tim, and I never tried the boss and I wish it stayed that way, it’s genuinely so bad, idk why when it comes to Elden ring bosses on mounts are just so ass

I died 55 times till i beat Consort at 15 sadu. I beat this boss 2 tries with : Rakasha set- full burst Back hand blade Strenght grant me fire Blood flame All ofensive talismans You spam ash of war of the weapon to horse charge, run after him and he melts in 20 sec Torny crack tear and defence opaline For who wants to try 15 sadu level

Did this get patched? This strategy legit doesn’t work anymore. Maybe it’s a stat issue but his attacks damage through the shields blocking especially in the second phase.

How do u block a seven hit combo he sucks and then to top that there are no summons there either

I’ve defeated nearly every boss apart from rahdan in the dlc and this one by far is the worse one I just want the shards to level up otherwise i wouldn’t bother with him 😭😭😭😭

I got all hyped up and scared reading the comments, then went in and smashed him first try with the good old Blasphemous Blade. 😂 I had a waaaaay harder time with Messmer for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

try to stick to his left side (weapon free side) and summon in 2nd phase. his combo is really simple in left side and short. summoning in 1st phase is a waste since he just kills it with his mini-radahn move set god damn i hate this boss design. his charging is only dodged with perfect timing and sometimes keeps charging even tho i already got hit, resulting one shot kill

Damn, I beat him on my first try with barely any difficulty. I was kinda bummed I couldn't savour the fight seeing as how many people were salty about him. Hint: I just got the Carian Thrusting Shield and he happens to be the closest boss I could try it on.

This doubles down as a guide for 99% of all bosses in all souls games.

I'm done with this dlc, what a load of bs this boss is just the worse with his undodgeable and area attacks you just can't escape, not fun at all
