Nothing better than Indian seven curry. Those people did it up real nice - looks beyond appetizing. Side note, that fireside stove gives the food a different taste that is a million times better.

Philip you were not far off when you said dhal curry. She bhunjay masala then added her dhal. So that is usually referred to as bhunjal dhal. The other way to cook dhal is boil your water add your split peas, your salt, geera, dye or turmeric, garlic and pepper and boil it all together. Then chunkay it like she did at the end. Both ways are delicious.
It is LOTUS LEAVES our foreparents brought it from india and it is all over in the sugar estates in GUYANA .some indians were taken to Jamaica it should be in the sugar plantation there too.
