Definitely one of the best, budget 16x4 modem available. Especially for it being released over 3 years ago. A lot of people still use Ethernet cables, not only to connect a router but gaming on WiFi is not very fun versus a corded connection. ;) The SB6183 and TP-Link 7620 are pretty close in performance but if you can a netgear CM500 on sale, I would recommend it over the other 2. Thx for the video, good job
You still need an internet provider so you’ll need to call them if you don’t have anything set up. If you already have active service, you should be able to set everything up on your own if you’re tech savvy.
Ok! I bought the SB6183 modem. Which router should I pair with it? Do you connect ethernet cord between wall and SB6183? There is only one plug on modem. How do you hook up the router?
if you plan on live streaming video games and you use this low end 16x4 channels and 686mbs modem then you will have frame rate issues, this modem is decent if youre just looking for fast speed connection with minimal applications and not many users on the device. if you wish to stream video games just upgrade to the next step up SB6190 i have no stream lag or frame drops at 3500 bit rate. for a really great price on amazon!
Great tip! I actually did do some streaming on Twitch with this one and it wasn’t too bad! I can see what you mean though, because it could have been a little higher quality!
Do people even use Ethernet cables anymore…Really? How did you plan on connecting to your Google Router with WiFI? Thank god you did not throw it away (or did you) because yes you need the Ethernet cable…….
Help me please my modem is stuck blinking yellow on downstream and I have a coax connected and everything please help me why is it doing this and how can I fix this to work 😔
