@@snoopdogg9490 your mom said nah? usually the cable in your house doesnt really matter. main problem is the cable length from the nearest network point which is 4km in my case. what could help you would be a powerline throught your electrical wires in the house. i also use that to get a LAN connection fro the living room to my room upstairs. should be doable for 100 bucks and its nothing more than pluging 2 thing in the wall. most of them even have socket in them so it stays usable

Buy special high gain antenna for your router which gets the internet from your neighbours. Better signal=better speed. I assume that Wi-Fi signal quality from your neighbour is a limiting factor. Or just don't steal and order your own high speed, reliable and secure internet connection. You probably connected to unprotected neighbours Wi-Fi (without a password) and you must use VPN if you want to be secure and private.

We've still got data caps on most plans in Belgium. Only the most expensive one is "unlimited"(750gb)

If you live in a rural area in the us they will charge you upwards of $100 just for 9mb/s download PER HOUSEHOLD, and that number does not include equipment cost(fixed wireless). If you want higher you'll have to go with satellite that comes with 700+ms latency(ping) usually more like 1000ms. Oh and they all come with caps up to 50gbs of data. If you want no caps you will definitely be paying $120+ monthly. Its crazy to hear that people in EU have no caps and 1gb/s for like less than a quarter of the price.

You see the government installed all the fibre backend, then had the entity managing it charge all the ISPs per MB they sent through fibre network, thereby incentivising ISPs to stick to data caps and recommend shitty slow speeds like 12/1 as "Fast" broadband.

Stadia shouldn't take much. 10-15 for the video stream (720 at 60fps) and less than 1 for the keyboard and mouse values. I remember back in the old days gaming on 64kbps playing "Leiro". IT sent projectile launch point, projectile velocity, projectile vector, your position, velocity, vector and health and your keyboard inputs. Then every so many seconds double checked destructible terrain and health was syncronised. (It basically always was synchronised. Only lagged if one of the people playing had a very slow PC (< 333MHz Pentium II) or someone was cheating with s lag switch. (A physical switch you splice into a LAN cable to interrupt the connection so that your ping didn't show as high when people check but you could at will glitch around the place unseen.). It ran smoothly. But was coded efficiently. Red alert 2 ran smoothly on a 128kbps ISDN line.

And it's not like I live in the middle of nowhere either, I'm in a small town about 50 miles from San Francisco, now can you imagine what that would be like somewhere miles from civilization
