The fact that Toby recorded all of this is so ironic, I love it.

For those who don’t know Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey have a podcast, The Office Ladies, where they’re rewatching and analyzing every episode of the show. When they did this episode they received a story from a woman about this cold open. The women’s daughter was born with severe medical problems (I think it was her heart) and had to have extensive surgery. And during her recovery this scene was the only thing that would cheer her up. She said that she and her daughter watched this cold open well over 1,000 times because it always made her smile.

I love how Michael needs to show that bird all the time😂

Man, I love The Office

Every time I rewatch this scene, I appreciate something different each time! Whether it is Jim's awkward dance, Andy being invested in the performance despite Dwight holding a knife to his neck, Erin's enthusiasm, Michael's pride in his magic or Kelly and Ryan's argument, there is always something going on in this opening to make me keep coming back and watching it.

Kevin threw the ribbons after everyone did at 1:40 (because he is slow) , This is why The Office is the best Sitcom there is, Every small detail counts.

It's insane that Rainn had the confidence to do that knife toss at 1:54 and not f it up, considering this whole thing is ONE SHOT.

I love how in 0:53 Creed has completely no idea what's going on and 15 seconds later he has a guitar out of nowhere and starts a solo. In 1:16 he picks up a call and in 1:50 he again plays his solo behind closed door. Ladies and gentlemen, Creed Bratton. Bigger mystery than Stonehenge and Atlantis combined.

thing about the office is. I wish I worked in a work place exactly like this,. The writers nailed this show. every single character even the ones with little sceeentime are just iconic. idk how that's possible but it's a statement to how well made it is.

Tomorrow im going to move out of this homeless shelter into my first flat (im 21), my terrible colon desease is gone, i quit drinking eventhough i was drinking a bottle of whiskey a day and my happiness came through for the first time since i was 13 3 days ago, this intro made me realize that i shouldnt be afraid of feeling this happiness and its just all coming out i cant stop crying man its so fucking unlikely for this decade old show to just now show me this intro when i couldnt have needed it more than ever man last time i cried a tear of joy was 1 year ago in psychiatry when i looked up to the skies (was allowed 30 minutes out) and realized that it had become summer, and that i could have had not been experiencing that beauty due to a suicide attempt, that felt something like this right now but no drug ever made me feel so happy as iam right now and im going to get a fucking cat this month, i never had one and always wanted one, im so fucking happy its unreal! thanks for this, the office

Whilst the majority of the time he may be a stupid, pompous, ignoramus, he loves his employees which is why he calls them a family. Can you honestly say you WOULDN'T want to work for a boss like Michael Scott??? That's the charm of this I think, and the method behind his madness, he's trying to teach them to be happy with their lot in life, because this is the best they're gonna get, and to make the most of it cause they will never again find a job like they have at Dunder Mifflins, Scranton branch, anywhere ever.
