@@noypitelekom9075 Thanks for your comment🙌Well it is free, of course, they also have a paid plan which they offer, but I was myself using the free version for quite a while before upgrading. The choice is yours but it's only clickbait if I am saying that is not actually correct, but it is, obviously I can't attach the entire T&C's in the video title😉 Cheers and happy Monday☀
You can enable also from settings the tax you must pay. For example in Greece is 30%. So after that you can see the net amount that you will receive from dividends .
Hi mate, thanks for the pointer, indeed, great new feature, would be nice to do this on a position basis, as some holdings are EU based and that would then not apply, but overall great feature and they keep making it better. Cheers and Merry Christmas ahead👋🎄🎅
Thanks for highlighting this app and the in-depth overview of the desktop version. Ive been searching around for a platform that has all of these features in one place and excited to deep dive into this. You have earned a new fan and subscriber from Canada!
Too bad they don't handle transfer of shares well. For example I have my vested company stocks in Morgan Stanley and transfer them to IBKR when I want to sell and buy sth else. They are not able to provide real values on gains for such stock. IBKR does a relatively good job on it, getting the original price sorted out after some time.
Hi thanks for sharing and that's unfortunate to hear that this was not picked up by them, which is strange given that they usually just take brokers information so if IBKR has the correct data on it , I would have thought that after auto-sync they would display it correctly. Hope it'll be sorted out 🤞 Cheers
Because this app sucks at tracking everything aparently. It's is showing everything all messed up compared to my broker profile. And almost every number is off from market current.
@@x.grover.x9786 really? which broker do you use? Because i have almost none to 0 problems and most people on there too - did you connect it live with authorisation? maybe you have a American broker with an american depot bank which might be an issue since its a german app and most users are german so they might focus at the beginning on german brokers like: Scalable, Finanzen Zero, Trade Republic etc...
This app seams good at giving minimal dividend info. Not so goot at tracking anything else. Everything is off from market and my current broker profile.
Hi and yes, great app and gives me all I need. Didn't have any issues with something being off though. I did choose auto-sync with my brokers and worked perfectly well, as long as you keep the same currency everywhere 👌
It says it only reads the data, but in the meantime you are inserting your interactive brokers username and password in a third party app. This looks like not safe at all. Why are you not concerned?
It's a trusted connection service used by other online brokers players/banks out there, the data is encrypted, but without your login details it would not be able to ready your data and as it says it's read only, but if you don't like it you can also do manual sync 👌 Cheers
I am currently looking for a Portfolio Tracker and getquin seems good. Do you have to synch your brokers to have your assets displayed or is it possible to manually add for example your stocks, dividends or crypto spot orders?
Great question. Yes, with getquin, you have the flexibility to either sync your brokerage accounts or manually add your investments. Here's a quick rundown: Syncing Brokers: If you want to keep everything automated and up-to-date, you can sync your brokers. This way, your stocks, dividends, and crypto will be updated automatically. 📈🔗 Manual Entry: If you prefer to have more control or only want to track certain assets, you can manually add your stocks, dividends, or crypto spot orders. This gives you the freedom to customize your portfolio tracking exactly how you like it. ✍️📊 Cheers 👋
Thank you for the review. Does qetquin have a dividend safety scores system and a research facility, for example to search for high yield dividend stocks? And can you set dividend alerts?
Hi there and glad you enjoyed it. For dividend stocks research I wouldn't say it's the most comprehensive tool and safety score is not offered for now. I use Seeking Alpha for that. Alerts can be set up though official payment date and when it hits your broker might be a bit different at times. Cheers
Hi. As mentioned they have a free plan and a paid plan for a few Euros a month but since that often changes and they have offers which you can find my link just have a look what it is now and then decide though the free plan is great to get started. Cheers
Hi there, I haven't done that as I don't use Revolut for investing (and would not really advise it) but I guess the process is the same as for any broker, maybe just try again or in another browser. Cheers
Hi, Kai again ! Love your videos ! :) I got a question: I would like to swap some of my stocks for another ones. For example. I would like to swap 3 Tesla shares for equal amount of value of another stock, let's say AAPL. Can it be done, and if so how ? I need to download IBKR Globar trader and make new account there (I already have existing IBKR account) ? Is it true that if you swap stocks (shares) means that you don't actually sell them and therefore you don't realize capital gain event, taxable event ? I would appreciate your answer. I am from Croatia, Europe.
Hey mate, thanks for the love and the great question! 🌟 Swapping stocks, like trading your Tesla shares for AAPL, is an interesting move. Let's unpack this! 1. Swapping Stocks: How It Works Selling & Buying: Essentially, "swapping" stocks isn't a direct trade like trading cards. You need to sell your Tesla shares first, then use that money to buy AAPL shares. It's a two-step dance: sell, then buy. 💃🕺 Using IBKR: Since you already have an IBKR account, no need for a new one. Just use your existing account to make these transactions. No extra downloads or accounts required. Simple and efficient! 2. Tax Implications Capital Gains: This is crucial. When you sell your Tesla shares, it's a taxable event if there's a capital gain. This means if the value of the shares has increased since you bought them, you might owe taxes on the profit. 📈💰 No Direct Swap Tax Breaks: Swapping stocks doesn't exempt you from capital gains tax. The taxman doesn't care if you're using the money to buy another stock immediately; profit is profit in their eyes. 3. Tips for a Smooth Swap Timing: Keep an eye on the market. Timing can affect how much Tesla stock you'll need to sell to buy the desired amount of AAPL. ⏰ Tax Considerations: Consult a tax professional, especially since you're in Croatia. Tax laws can be tricky, and international factors might come into play. In short, while you can't directly swap stocks like for like without triggering a taxable event, you can certainly sell one and buy another using your existing IBKR account. Just be mindful of the tax implications and timing. Hope this clears up your question! If you've got more questions or need further guidance, feel free to reach out. Cheers and happy weekend❄️
@@SmartMoneywithKai Tnx for the response. Actually, I have transfered my Tesla shares from Revolut to IBKR account. I have bought them on higher prices then they are now. So, does that mean if I sell them in loss, I don't have to declare anything ? (tax wise).
Absolutely, got it! 💥 So, you've transferred your Tesla shares to IBKR and are considering selling at a loss. Here's the deal: Selling at a loss isn't just about not declaring. These losses can actually help reduce your tax bill by offsetting other capital gains or even a part of your income. It's like turning a tough situation into a strategic move! 🛠️ But, tax rules are complex and vary by location. I'd recommend chatting with a tax expert to get advice tailored to your situation. Cheers mate
Hi Andrew, while they do feature over 800K assets, some might be missing so yes, mailing them would be the best and if there is enough demand, I am sure they might add them in the future. Cheers
I got a response this morning. Unfortunately, they don’t have Jamaican stock listed since they have plaid, and plaid only supports countries like Canada, USA, North America, etc. I still did ask them to put a manual option and just make the stock link with the current market price 😅it might sound easy but maybe it’s costly on their end who knows let’s see if they implement something like this in the future.
Follow up: After doing some research and checking the app I found out that I could use the ISIN to search for a stock if it’s not listed like how USA stocks are listed for example QWI is a Jamaica stock and if you try to search for it you would not find it unless you search by the ISIN in this case QWI ISIN would be JME201900151 Note: it’s not listed with the logo, dividend, and market information but the price is there to coordinate with the amount of shares you buy, so I think I will be satisfied with this for now!!
Hi and no, you don't if you don't want. If you do it would be read-only access and if you have 2FA you would still need to manually confirm the sync every time so it's really safe. But if you don't even like that, just do manual tracking👌 Cheers
@@weisseadler Hi, they are using Flanks, very clearly described actually and very trustworthy, but again, ultimately your choice, you can read more about it here www.flanks.io/articles/how-does-flanks-address-security-whitepaper and here assets-global.website-files.com/6231fa653e0b7d89349f81aa/62f239de2155463ac1d457f3_How%20does%20Flanks%20address%20security%20-%20WHITEPAPER090822_compressed%20(3).pdf Cheers
Hi Kai, I have watched your Portfolio Performance tutorial and really liked the tool, could you please clarify what getquin has that Portfolio Performance doesn't and vice versa? Thank you!
Hi and thanks a lot and it is indeed a great tool especially considering it's free. I just did not enjoy the manual imports on Portfolio Performance and just prefer that getquin auto-syncs with my various holders and I prefer the interface and app experience but both are great options 👌
It's nice, BUT, I do not consider that it's secure to enter your user and password to connect your brokerage account to this app. The security tools this app uses for authentication is shady, not explained enough. I do not think giving your password under the pretext "they can only read" it's enough.
Hi there, it's actually very clearly described. You absolutely don't have to, you can either manually record your transaction there or PDF import, if you want it fully automated you could login, but it's anyways 2FA so you need to confirm login every time for safety reasons and it's read-only access, but the choice is yours 😉
Thanks a lot. I have a full time job running a business for the last 14 years. I have never revealed what the job is exactly, but will do that very soon in a separate video, stay tuned for that😉 Glad you enjoy the video. Cheers✌️
Ciao, EU investors can fill out W8BEN form which many brokers offer and that lowers the dividend withholding tax from 30% to 15%. Then I pull my tax report from my broker (Interactive Broker) and uploaded to my tax authorities, that's all. Cheers
@@SmartMoneywithKai in Greece although I fill the w8ben form I still be taxed with 30% We ask the tax office. But if you live in Cyprus is 15% But the question that I ask you is about the getquin software Is there any command in getquin in order the dividends being calculated without 30%? Hard question??
@@ΝικόλαοςΑντωνιάδης-ι6τ Ah, that's a shame, yeah 30% withholding plus income tax on dividends locally is a lot. At this stage I did not see the option to adjust taxation in getquin yet, hopefully that feature will come one day🤞
It's still a great option and they just came out with their own app, but I like that getquin does auto-sync with my various brokers, it's just much more convenient and easy to use 👌
Hi Kai. Thanks for this video. I loved the app. Tried it for a couple of days with my two portfolios, one on IBKR and the other one on T212. Everything worked fine until today when I realised that the T212 was not being updated. I tried to delete the portfolio and add it again and I received a warning email from T212 that someone in Madrid had access to my account. Probably it's the service used to sync the portfolio, but in the doubt I changed my password and decided not to use the automatic sync, because I just don't feel comfortable inserting my T212 password and verification code again. This being said, I don't know if I am gonna use the app, because I don't think I wanna insert all transactions manually. I really loved the idea of the automatic synchronisation, but security seems a bit of an issue at the moment.
🔥 Hey there! First off, thanks for the shout-out and for diving into the app! 🌟 I totally get where you're coming from with the security concerns - in today's digital world, being cautious is key! 🛡️ It's super important to listen to those gut feelings, especially when it comes to your finances. 🧠💸 Kudos for taking swift action when something seemed off. Safety first! Now, about that T212 hiccup - it sounds like a bit of a mix-up, probably just the app doing its sync thing. However, you're right to err on the side of caution. I'll reach out to the app devs and flag this for you. We need to ensure it's smooth and secure for everyone! 🚀 In the meantime, manual input might be a bit of a drag 🐌, but it's a safer bet if automatic sync is giving you the jitters. Remember, peace of mind is priceless! I'm all about balancing convenience with security. For myself I will continue to use the auto-sync, I also got the T212 notification but that's normal since they needed read-only access and I feel very confident with them, but as I said, you need to do what feels right fro you. Cheers
Hi both, I open a new account today on getquin and I tried to add Trading212 and I have received the same email - “some IP address from Madrid has logged in into my account”. However I understand this as a normal procedure for their synchronisation? Isn ´t this just their read-only attempt? Does anybody have the same experience or this is not right? @Kai - Did you receive some feedback from getquin on this?
I have a suggestion to make :-) I am new to investments, ETFs, broker etc. This channel was really helpful to get started. The tool that this video shows is a big step forward to make investment even more democratic. So my suggestion is: What about a video where you talk about your wish list for tools or services? What are you dreaming of etc.? Anything AI?
Thanks for the idea, good point and maybe something I'll write in a future community post, not sure though people might be too excited to watch a whole video of me talking about my fintech wish list:) However, you are right, it would definitely involve some kind of AI integration, beautiful interfaces, seamless connectivity and combining all various assets that I am holding. Cheers
any recommendations, why I don't see ETFs from my investment plan on XTB but just single stocks? I see the transactions but they are not included in the total net worth graphs. Thank a lot
I remember that, thanks again Miguel. Was a bit hesitant at first since I used them few years ago where for me it was not user-friendly at all and did not auto sync with any of my brokers. But now. Wow. Absolutely love it and will switch from Dividend Watch to getquin✅Cheers mate
@SmartMoneywithKai oh you remembered! Yeah, even the free version gives a lot of perks. Personally, I love the aggregaded vision of several portfolios. Little questions I saw your vidéo regarding the updates on chat gpt, and I was wondering if you think it could be possible to make a script analyzing the stock market based on our prefered fundamentals and potential growth available through morningstar data for example?
Absolutely agreed with you👌The aggregate view is fantastic plus the benefit to see it on the go in the app an the dividend view is also fantastic, so many great things about it. Great question regarding the ChatGPT investing GPT. I suppose it could be done in some form. In fact, I have it on my list of potential future videos on how to use ChatGPT for investing, so something I'll keep in mind. Cheers
Hi Kai. Getquin only has a 7 day free trail and than charges a fee when not cancelled 24hr before the 7 days are up. Do you have code that gives access to a free account that is not restricted? Thank you. Björn
Hi Bjoern, unfortunately I don't. You can use the free for a while, it does the auto-sync as well, I did that too, but eventually decided to upgrade and now happy I did. Cheers and happy weekend❄️
