Best Islay Scotch Whisky. 

A thoughtful foray through Islay’s whiskies. I have been through Speyside’s whisky trail, ventured up to the Orkney Islands and over to Skye. My husband let’s me plan our trips so we did a great pass through. This year I am celebrating my 65th birthday with a trip to Islay to visit the distilleries. I have done some adVance prep by buying two types of Ardberg, the Lagaveulin 16 yr. and most recently the Kilchoman...I used to be a Speyside gal for the past 30 years or so but once I tried the peaties there is no going back.! Your video has provided me with insight as I continue to do some advance prep. I will drink a toast to you come April 25th, 2020 from Islay. Thank you.

The best Islay I've had though would be the Octomore 06.2 the smoothest scotch I've tasted....but it's a bit too expensive to have often. Lapgroaig Quarter cask, and 10 year cask strength are my favorites for the money.

i liked the selections that you selected in terms of the main selling bottle of each of these distilleries..i.e. the go to bottle of each distillery

Thanks for the vid! I’m a recent convert to whisky and it was, like you, Laphroaig 10 that did it. I’ve picked up an Ardbeg Uigeadail (instead of the 10) and Lag 16 - and think your approach of getting one of each is one I reckon I will follow! Thanks again.

Laphroaig is pronounced with the g btw
