What's up Jeep buyers! If you're seriously in the market for a new Jeep Wrangler, make sure you watch this video and consider the options discussed. In my opinion, these are some of the options you'll be most likely to regret NOT buying on your Jeep. Most of these are pretty specific to the newer Wrangler JLs or Gladiator JTs, but if you have questions about any of the older Jeep models, let me know!

I have a 2021 Unlimited Rubicon with the 3.6L and the manual transmission. 1. I have the upgraded screen and entertainment system and it is a must. It is easy to use, the features are great, and the speakers are awesome. 2. I have the standard headlights, and they fucking suck. If you don't get the LED package, then you will end up getting aftermarket swaps. 3. I have a black, unpainted hardtop and I have no problems with it. I live in an urban area and don't want shit to get easily stolen, so I would never get a soft top. 4. I live in California and would never use the heated seats or steering wheel. And I have a manual, so it wouldn't have remote start anyway. 5. I do not have the trailer tow group and it is the biggest thing that I wish I would have had. I picked one up off the lot, and at the time it was the only one within 100 miles of where I live, so I didn't really have an option unless I wanted to wait a few months and order it. But I would really like to have this, and I probably will eventually add on the trailer hitch and upgrade the alternator. 6. I don't have the safety group and I am fine with that. My last car was a Honda Accord and it used to randomly detect stuff that wasn't actually there and slam on the brakes against my will when I was going down the highway, and beep to tell me I was going out of the lane whenever the lines weren't painted perfectly on the road. My mom has a Subaru Outback that does that as well, and I just don't need that. It almost caused a few accidents on its own when it slammed my brakes for me, and then when I did actually get into an accident one day from hitting something in the road, it did nothing, and now it is totalled, and now I have a Wrangler without those useless features. I do not use cruise control or any driving assists, I do not want it to tell me when I have veered over the line, and I do not under any circumstances want it to slam on the brakes when I am driving down the highway with absolutely nothing in front of me. I am glad that I did not pay an extra thousand dollars to have a system that is actively trying to get me into an accident.

Have no regrets and don't have half of the options you mention, just bought my JL Sport as is (lease return) and love it, saving some big coin for tasty aftermarket protection/customization. I had all the fancy stuff on prior cars premium cars. I love the rawness of my little guy and the rocks we will traverse happily! The best thing of all is the "trail rated" badge. Enjoy folks!

The aux switches are a great add on. I can add more electrical components such as additional usb charging ports or a mobile radio without hacking into the vehicle electrics. The switches have the wiring already.

LED Lighting Group - Check (those LED Headlights look great and illuminate the night perfectly) Cold Weather Group - Check (an absolute must for being a New Englander) Trailer Tow Group - Check (especially when I tow the Motorcycle to the Racetrack, which is also an absolute must) As far as Top Options go, I am really on the search for a Fastback Style Option for the sleek look. Hence why I stuck with the Base Softtop on my 22' JLUR Order, knowing that I'm going to replace it in the long run.

I recommend the front trail camera. If you offroad your Jeep this is a must.

I added that option to my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe that I ordered today. I test drove one with that camera and it makes it easy to park into tight spaces.

Good stuff here. I like your logic.👍👍😎🇺🇸 Trailer tow...protects bumper iff road? Safety groups! Really good stuff now. I had this stuff in 2015 it was sort of jerky and un predictable. 21 Gr Cher Trailhawk...its excellent. Just Drove from the mid south to Sedona and back. Used lane sense and adaptive cruise control on the highway. Comforting...like having a co pilot. I put those things on my wife’s car as well. Do you have an opinion on the hardtop insulation factory option? Heat and noise reduction?

Another va guy hello! I have to agree the led head lights I wish I had, I wouldn’t trade the diesel for anything. I wish I would have got the rubicon but the Sahara is pretty nice to and it goes everywhere I need to go.

That's true, the Rubicon is overkill for most people. I just told myself that if I bought another jeep, I would get the rubi.

Look at my post above. This is great stuff on long highway drives. Lane Sense when you are fatigued or in windy conditions works great. Adaptive cruise works well...just in case you miss something. Watch for people passing you and cutting in front of you too close, adjust the distance. But I like this stuff. Extra set of eyes on the road? My drives were 650 - 800 miles on the interstate. Picking up people at an airport. There was no plan b. I like having this stuff along. I used it when I needed it. Its another tool. 👍👍🇺🇸😎

Everybody keeps harping on the one touch top being a $4k option. Its only a 4k option if you dont upgrade the top from the base top it comes with. I originally was gonna get the colored hard top and headliner and with the price of those two together the one touch was 1k more so I went with the one touch which I wanted anyway, but was originally put off by the $4k cost of it.

I'm mostly curious how they hold up over time, and if they develop any leaking issues. If they're solid I would definitely consider one if I buy another jeep down the road.

Jeep used a similar looking opening roof on the Liberty. I had a friend in the used car business that hated those tops. They are big money to fix WHEN they fail off warranty. He would manually get it closed...seal it with silicone....and disconnect the wires from the motor that opens and closes. The only way I would consider that option....is for a 3 year lease.

Nice video, one option that I fell you left out is the locking rear differential. IMO it should be standard on all Jeeps .
@freakfiveoh
@freakfiveoh Год назад
I agree. I wish they would at least offer a rear locker as an option on all trims, but that would probably ly eat into Rubicon sales too much
