'Be Melodramatic' is my all time favourite too! It's such an underrated one and the comedy is so good. I think people post their 20s would enjoy it more. Not the teens

Speaking as an American, I love the often complex plots and combinations of character stories in the dramas, BUT the thing that absolutely sold me on Kdramas is the fact that they are generally much cleaner than US dramas. It's so amazing to be able to watch a show that isn't swearing at you constantly, focused on sex, or violent beyond measure. Because Kdramas don't tend to focus on those things, the plots (in my opinion) are so much better and the stories more satisfying. Many of my friends who also watch Kdramas often comment on the same thing. We just LOVE that they are actually family friendly well made interesting stories with fabulous acting and music. We could sit down with a child, or a grandparent and feel totally comfortable watching the shows. Also, they actually portray values and situations much closer to my own life than anything I see on US TV. My Favorite KDramas include: 1% of Something, Hospital Ship, Your House Helper, Bride of the Century, Descendants of the Sun, He is Psychometric, Five Enough and many many more.

I've watched about 50 KDramas since April, and my faves have to be Descendants of the Sun, Healer, Crash Landing on You, It's Okay to not be Okay, My Love From the Star (should be Stars, but oh, well), Secret Garden, The King: Eternal Monarch, She Was Pretty, Memories of the Alhambra, The Heirs, Moon Embracing The Sun, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, Itaewon Class, Thirty But Seventeen, Because This Is My First Life. I have watched more than 70 dramas (im serious) and no drama for me can top Reply 1988' its so well made, so relatable, so nostalgic, so familiar, so funny, a masterpiece to sum it up. My dad didnt like dramas till he watched Moon Lovers, then he watched with my mom and I itaewon class, crash landing, and refused to watch reply 1988, I insisted and he watched it later, no kidding he absolutely loved it, he both cried real tears and laughed till he struggled to breathe, now he refuses to watch anything that isnt better😂 Reply 1988 is my #1 drama

I really recommend extracurricular to those who haven't watched it.it's such a cool drama

i think everyone would agree tht descendants of the sun is still iconic. even though its old now with the coming of new dramas it was really popular which made many ppl love kdramas. its old now but will forever remain new for me

My favorite Kdramas are: The Queen's Classroom, Hotel Del Luna, Empress Ki, Itaewon Class, Tell Me What You Saw, The World of the Married, The Tale of Nokdu, and Crash Landing On You. Currently watching "It's Okay Not To Be Okay" as well as "Into The Ring" and they're both pretty good. Kim Soo Hyun is an amazing actor and the way Nana is portraying her character is something I find very endearing.

Reply 1997, Reply 1994, Reply 1988, It's Okay that's Love (with Zo in sung and gong Hyo jin. They are great actors. The drama also talks about important issues too), the og Secret Garden (great OSTs and amusing plot with great chemistry between leads), Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (cute), Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (great chemistry between leads), etc. Recently, Itaewon Class has been pretty good too.

For anyone who doesn't really like love stories, I highly recommend the drama "Misaeng." The drama depicts the relatable lives of office workers in a big company. So many of the issues were realistic and really struck a chord with me. I used to have a soul crushing / high-pressure office job where I worked 10-12 hours everyday, so I related to the characters so much. The acting is great and the story lines are unique. There aren't many cliche tropes. For example, everyone's smart and hard-working, but there's no MENSA-level genius, chaebol prince, or someone with super powers. It's an accurate depiction of people struggling to survive in our modern world that values competition. It's on Netflix; give it a shot!

My top dramas are It's Okay That's Love and Hello My Twenties. Solid dramas. my favourite thing about kdramas is that its not hyper sexual like a lot of american tv.

Some of my favorite dramas as of lately have been World of the Married and Into the Ring. But my all-time favorite Korean dramas would probably be Healer, School 2015, Reply 1988, DOTS, Goblin, etc. China also has some amazing dramas! My favorite being Put Your Head On My Shoulder and A Love So Beautiful.

You forgot to add Be Melodramatic at the end under kdramas mentioned. I highly recommend Stranger to anyone who likes crime dramas and Prison Playbook if u want slice of life. Neither are romance dramas but both are excellent

I'm a recent fan of Korean culture. BTS led me here. Became ARMY 2019. Just watched first K-drama "Crash Landing On You." Balled my eyes out! 2nd was "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?" , loved it! 3rd "Itaewon Class", loved it! Thus far K-drama heartthrobs, Hyun Bin and Park Seo Joon. Looking for next drama to binge.

Kinda surprised none of them mentioned Reply 1988. If I were to pick it would probably be that. The story are simple but yet so relatable.

Everybody is talking about ILAND, I don't want you to upload it rn but I will add something. Even though I have NOT WATCHED even a single ILAND episode but I always MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE REVIEWS ...its just so much fun watching you two. That's skills and hard work, right there.

AM I the only one who doesn’t like romantic drama? I loved Mr sunshine, misaeng , sky castle, the world of the married, extracurricular and the final one hospital playlist. I will watch signal it seems interesting. Edit: I also avoid dramas with new idol actors as protagonists.

Itaewon Class is another level awesome drama. And Fight For My Way. In two different ways it depicts youngster at their most vulnerable, when they dream big, when they fight hard and when they want to shine in their own way. It’s two dramas that hit me hard with the themes that they moved, without leaving anything. Both dramas also went for not typical leads. In Itaewon Class the guy is so well-rounded and wholesome as a person, who knows what he wants and respects everyone around himself, treats them nicely and puts a lot of trust in people, that he loves. And female lead is labeled by society sociopath that was created by said society and her mom, who learns from male lead how to sympathize and understand when she unfairly hurts others. They like heart and mind together. Underdogs of society who were able to rise above all that nasty labels that were put on them. In Fight For My Way leads not rich, average and struggle everyday to stay afloat. They feel like they wasting their life and want to make their parents proud. Until they learn how to stay true to themselves and do what they want, even if it’s not “big league”. Sometimes we stay in the middle. Yet it doesn’t mean we should not be happy. P.S. I also highly recommend drama about police workers Live. It’s one of the best dramas out there that has no support from international fans just because it has no fancy love story. But everything about Live is excellent. That’s drama that deserves a real hype.

I've been watching kdramas since 2015 ... And i have noticed it's getting more and more popular everyyear. And now so many dramas are available in netflix so it's gaining more viewers. Before as a international fan it's was difficult to watch kdramas but now it's easy😊. Even now Netflix doesn't have all shows I wanna watch they have all the popular ones. BTW my favourite drama of all time is Reply 1988, it's such a heart warming drama. Few other I wanna recommend are: temperature of love, something in the rain, one spring night, reply 1994 and reply 1997, Another miss Oh, Scarlet heart; ryeo, Chicago typewriter, Hospital playlist, A piece of your mind, Doctor romantic season 1 and 2.... I have watched so many dramas with cliche storyline and typical kdrama kinds... But these are really good dramas with great cast and really good story line. Hope you will enjoy like I have... You can recommend me some too.... I will watch if I haven't watched. Currently I am watching It's okay to not be okay. Edit : I forgot laughter waikiki...oh my god... I didn't have any episode where I didn't laugh and my stomach didn't hurt🤣🤣. I have watched only season 1 so I definitely recommend season 1....but season 2 maybe also good it's just idk.

Watching Mr. Sunshine at the moment. All time fave : Jewel in the Palace/Dae Jang Geum. And My Ahjussi is the drama that I would recommend all to watch. Yup the guy in grey shirt and I, we definitely have the same taste of KDrama.

My favourit kdrama is reply1988. Im not korean but felt nostalgic watching it and learned alot about korean history.friendships were pure gold and the relationships were so tight knitted. Another favourit of mine is extraordinary you.It has a really intresting story and all actors are visuals.they kinda making fun of shallow_teenage-romance novels and dramas. At first you think its the usual love tringle with 2 rich boys and a kind hard working poor girl but then everything crumbels.
