Best Kelp XP/BONEMEAL Farm For Minecraft Bedrock 1.19! 

Thank you for this, I had no idea why mine wasn’t working that well and now I know it’s because I needed to add another set of hoppers to the collection system. The bonemeal farm works amazingly now

Composters can use dried kelp. So I've set mine up with smokers that feed the dried kelp into composters, so I have the best of both worlds. But you need to save some of the dried kelp to fuel the smokers. It's about a 2 to 1 ratio to use the dried kelp as fuel.

I followed another person's guide at first and they mentioned nothing of chunk borders. I had no idea why every machine I built didn't work, turned out I built my camp in a cross section of four chunks. Thanks for the much needed explanation, I used the map method to find the chunk borders, so easy

I have built this farm numerous times. I've checked and rechecked boarders time and time again. I think an update killed this farm, cause it is not working.

FOR ANYBODY HAVING ISSUES READ THIS Here’s some steps to make sure it works properly can also fix if it’s broken 1.) Don’t build on a chunk border 2.) Under the first set of pistons (bottom set) break the block under the extended or wooden part of the piston. there should always be air here 3.) If you farm stopped working, what most likely happened is the first layer of sand fell into the hole i just talked about. if this happens, remove the sand and replace in the appropriate spot and everything should work. Don’t forget to place water buckets where the kelp source blocks go before re-planting them EDIT: 4.) Stay within simulation distance of your farm when it’s running, minimum of 4 chunks but stay closer to be safe

You can also use the kelp xp farm as a fuel farm by turning dried kelp into kelp blocks

I was a bit sceptical at first 1up... Seen this design numerous times and decided to give you a chance, low and behold this farm works for Playstation users on 1.19.10!! I personally hate the.10 update.... It's unbelievable in the bugs it's got Lol.....Well done on the farm, quick and easy to follow and you have a thumbs up. :)

Run the top hoppers into double chests, then you can place double the number of smokers. With bonemeal, it isn’t necessary because one composter can keep up with one hopper by itself. This one is also horizontally expandable too, so mine is 10 wide, with 16 smokers and 4 composters.

You can make this 10 composters long.. as long as you’re within the chunk block radius. Best farm I’ve found for it yet man! Thanks for the build.. I did tweek it a bit. Insane bonemeal a hour 😬😊

I have this farm feeding my sugar cane farm that was built directly underneath it. We just used a bunch of hoppers to feed the sugarcane farm. The drop rate of this Farm/machine matches the use rate of the dispenser on the sugarcane farm.

Anyone building this farm know that this brakes so much. It could just be me but this farm brakes for me whenever I’m either afk for like an hour or more, or whenever I leave the render distance while it’s on. Though it does this, the concept still works… with contently fixing it every so often, it works pretty damn good…

If you accidentally log out without turning the farm off here’s what you do. Do it while the farm is off. 1. Take out all the water 2. Dug under the farm. 3. take out all the sand 4. Replace the sand and make sure there is no block under where the extended part of the sticky piston goes. 5. replace the blocks you dug/mined out (remember no blocks under where the extended part of the sticky piston is) 6. Take off the three red stone dust at the top of the farm then replace the water and kelp . 7. make sure the farm is off and put the red stone dust back on top then turn farm on again.

Instead of extending this you can stack it if you just copy the same thing but replace the composers with dispensers bring them one block forward run redstone along the top and have an observer watching the sand attached to sticky piston I've stacked it three times and still works great

This is literally the first Redstone farm I've ever build I'm just two weeks in minecraft I'm absolutely new and what can I say it works perfectly! I'm so fascinated hahaha thanks a lot Edit. Sometimes the kelp breakes. I made absolutely sure that I am not on a boarder but inside a chunk. So I wonder where did I go wrong because it works perfectly but sometimes a kelp disappears. I am not moving just sitting around building other stuff a chunk next to it. My distance is 6 chunks

How do I make sure I'm not building in a chunk border? I'm playing on PS5, and I don't know what you mean by divide the coordinates by 16. Is every number that's evenly divisible by 16 a border?

Realms Bedrock users: This farm is very delicate when used in Minecraft Realms Bedrock and often breaks because the source kelp is occasionally removed when harvesting. The fix is easy, you just need to go on the top, open the trap door, and replant the kelp. If you need kelp to replace, just stand on the hopper against the glass and you should get some. It does take some maintenance so just be aware that you will need to replant every 20 minutes or so.

I have just made this farm, and its working great... However.... When I am taking the dried kelp out of the smokers im not always getting xp.. Im fairly new to Minecraft so not sure if thats normal or have I done something wrong?

mine stopped collecting bonemeal after about half a sack, the kelp is not re-growing and the layer of sand it was growing on also disappeared?? can anyone tell me how to fix this

hmm. why wont it grow? i made sure im within a chunk and figured out my mistake with the clock and made sure the water was all placed right and everything and its not working

How long does the exp farm take to start giving a bunch of levels? do you need to ignore it for a while and come back to it?

What texture pack are you using?

My is different, I've made a wheat farm, and all the stuffs automatic became bone meals! I think is thousands time more simple and efficient!

If farm doesn't work, make sure you didn't build it on chunk borders. As I could see, being on borders, trapdoors started acting wrong which causes kelps destroying

Quick question. Its not making exp how does one do that?

It worked for a few hours but then all the kelps got destroyed too including the bottom part after I replanted the kelps the kelps wouldn’t grow pls help

my red stone clock is just constantly on, it doesn't flash and the lever does nothing.

Built it with one composter and one smoker. ran great for a few minutes to get 8 bonemeal then the composter side broke.

Does this work efficiently in Java Edition? I am quite new to this and I followed most of the intstuctions. I couldn't get the second level of redstone to work so i made a second repeater with its own lever. Also, the kelp is not growing as fast as I thought it would... is it just slow growing in Java Edition?

I never build such a farm. Could someone explain me how it works? The sticky pistons pull back the sand, so water flows 1 block below, then sticky pushes the sand forward again. But why? Trap doors open and close, but does kelp grow that fast? Trapdoors might cut the kelp if it grows a little bit. So what are the pistons for? And why must the block below the open Piston be cleared?

mines not working at all and i think its because im using Jave (optifine) and red stone just doesnt work at all the same in my client... bummed out spent all day trying to get this to work

I built 10 kelp long and only 3 are growing. What's wrong? I mapped out the chunk border.

When I afk at this thing and come back the planted kelp is just gone, machine is running but kelp is gone, I definitely chunk aligned it so it can’t be that.. Oh well it still does good I just have to check on it every so often

Farm was working fine until I accidentally fell into it trying to pick up all the excess kelp that floats around inside... now the sand keeps falling when i turn it on, any ideas?

Here's a quick fix if your farm is not working sorry my English is not that good so bear with me: so after he makes the redstone clock when he starts expanding the redstone stand on the first redstone he places, now you should the face the block right in front of the redstone repeater place a redstone torch on that block and a block above the torch and redstone dust on the block placed above the torch. After that standing on that block to your left place four block place another redstone torch on the first block and redstone dust on the 3 remaining ones ( note those last three blocks must me behind the pistons like he showed in the video and don't put redstone on top of those blocks which is behind the trapdoors) and try if the kelp starts growing. Ask me if you didn't understand my comment I will try to explain it more elaborately. Thanks you and all the best.

I just made this and it seems okay, but only okay. Because I'm finding a lot of kelp is floating at the top edge and not going into the hoppers...anybody else with this issue? Please help!

Works for me I’m on bedrock just make sure that the you are in a chunk you can do the math method on another video I just did that instead of getting a mod or downloading stuff

the composter isn’t transferring to the chest, what did I do wrong?

Everything looks to be working Redstone wise. Bottom sand moves, top pistons move. But the kelp doesn't grow beyond its spot.
