Thanks for this review, the only review I have found where the Boya BY-M1 is connected to a camera. I was looking for one of these videos because I wanted to know how it sounded if I connected it to a camcorder. Obviously it also depends a lot on the type of camera it is connected to but it will always be better than the microphone that comes with the Chinese camcorders that come with a basic microphone.
Hello there! Great review! I have a question. I was surprised to see that you connected this lav mic directly to the MacBook and it works without any adapters needed! I have seen many videos on YT regarding this kind of connectivity and they all claim that you need some splitters etc in order to connect a lav mic to the audio port of the MacBook / iMac (I have both devices and they both have only ONE 3.5mm port for headphones. Can you confirm that no other parts are needed for this particular mic to be used with MacBook Pro and iMac? thanks in advance!
I got this mic today. Works perfect with my phone with the switch in the "Off/Smartphone" position. But my laptop doesn't receive a signal until I switch to the "Cameras" position. Even then the sound isn't that great. Any idea what's going on?
Hi Tim. We have the new IDOLCAM VlogStar V2 shotgun/Lavalier microphone in one, small size, perfect for vlogging, can we send you one to you to play with?
Can I invite you to test our microphone? No need to exaggerate our products, just let others understand our products better, welcome to the US for free testing
If you connect the BY-M1 through a usb audio adapter, would you need to turn the mic on (use battery)? I've used the usb adapter with some mics that needed phantom power and they worked ok.
