Tom Solid's #PaperlessMovement I’m seriously on the fence. I haven’t purchased one for my 11” yet because I can’t decide. I would like one similar to this one since it’s clamshell design might be easy to use in my lap or when reclining on the couch and it also swivels into tablet mode. This one doesn’t have protection for the Apple Pen though so that is a negative. None seem to check off all the boxes do they? 🤔😊
Tom Solid's #PaperlessMovement I might have bought this if I hadn't ordered and been using the brydge keyboard. Very nice MacBook like feel. It's backlite but just not colors like your review model. Mine has just white backlight.
Tom Solid's #PaperlessMovement Sorry, I forgot to include the link to the one I referenced, it’s the Greenlaw Keyboard Case: iPad Pro 11 Case with Keyboard 2018 - 360 Rotatable - Wireless/BT - Backlit 17 Color - Auto Sleep Wake - Thin & Light - iPad Case with Keyboard【Support Apple Pencil 2nd Gen Charging】 www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7KNF2M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_bcreDbZHNJH92
You are correct, Tom Solid! To me, the Logitech Slim Folio Keyboard Case for the iPad Pro 11” is perfect. People who complain that it is bulky and heavy don’t realize that that bulk is what protects the iPad in case it is dropped. (I dropped an iPad Mini which hit the corner, cracking the glass.). As far as the weight, with this case it’s still lighter than when I used to carry my laptop to and from work and home. Backlit keys are such a plus. At night, I play games and because of the tent-like style of the case, I don’t have to remove the iPad from the case, like I’ve had to do with previous cases. The Apple Pencil holder is a game changer. I’ve purchased multiple keyboard cases and this one meets all my needs.
Tom!!! I watched this video and ordered this case. I got it yesterday and I have to tell you, I LOVE IT! The keyboard feel is great, the changable backlit colors are awesome, the case protects all edges of my iPad Pro, and...this is critical for me...the keyboard detaches from the case when I don’t need it. I tried the ZAGG keyboard case but that rear flap design is severely flawed. I tried two of them and that angle flap on the back broke at the pivot point on both of them. I didn’t like the Logitech design that the keyboard is not removable. Thanks for this review and keep it up!
Hi Bruce!! Happy to read you like it! I actually missed to mention that the keyboard is detachable, so I am happy you bring it up in here :) Great to have you in the #PaperlessMovement
Also, Tom, you didn’t show if this case allows you to use the iPad Pro for drawing with the keyboard flipped back (is it a good position for drawing, is it supported, etc.), or how the case works when you don’t need the keyboard at all.
I do have some ID sketches for the perfect case:) Think zugu case quality, same amount of angles, strengt(inclosed polycarbonate back to prevent bendgate) , a detachable and slim keyboard similar to KeysToGo and a slim dongle that attaches magnetically to the back and has hdmi out, sd card, PD passthrough USB--C in and one out, 2 extra Usb-b slots 🎰
Great video! I would think that the difficulty of the volume buttons wouldn’t be such an issue on this case since you have a keyboard that you can use to control the volume anyway, correct?
Zugu Keys + Logitech KeysToGo;) I would definitely try that out as a perfect combo. Superslim keyboard that even though it doesn't attach to the Zugu case (unless you hack it somehow with velcro or magnets) it is really a nice combo. It's hard to beat the Zugu Case when it comes to quality and feel.
Sugu case is super nice. But yes, I miss having the attached keyboard. I’ve used the Apple smart case or whatever it’s called and enjoyed it but it didn’t protect the iPad enough for my use scenario.
Hi Tom, I am not sure if this is a newer model, but you might want to check out the Inateck KB2010. It has everything this has, but it has a flexible and stable kickstand, making like a surface.
Great demo, it really is a great keyboard, I bought one my 12.9 Pro last week based on RU-vid reviews, I love it so much I am buying one for my standard iPad. It is really easy to use for typing and the pencil tends to stay where it is, the raised keyboard is a definite plus. How did you get on with setting it up with a screen protector? I had to trim the end of one corner as it pushed it up.
Just ordered this for my 7th gen after seeing your review as I wanted a keyboard case, this has ticked all the boxes for me and at this price I can overlook the button switch or they may have fixed it with this one. Many thanks for the great review.
Also the inateck keyboard is designed to be completely removed from the inateck case and be typed on while it's detached something I don't know if any other case can do.
Tom Solid's #PaperlessMovement Thinking of buying one of these as Apple’s keyboard folio is way too expensive, as usual. One question, how strong are the magnets behind the case that gives you different viewing angles? Does it get removed from the ‘notches’ easily or are you confident the magnets will hold the angle? Thank you for your time.
Im thinking about Logitech but I have a MacBook and I’m not sure that I need a second computer instead of a tablet. Maby when ipad OS is released I will buy a keyboard.
I am going to get the ipad pro with the logitech case but I want to know that how solid the logitech is because I need to carry it in my backpack and I do not want it to bend Sorry for bad english
I don’t know why people are so afraid of bending. I am carrying it around in my backpack since six months without any change in shape. 😉 I heard the bending is coming from heat when you have the cellular model. However I cannot confirm this is true.
Love my Apple keyboard but wish it had better protection and a better typing experience, although it’s not bad. I tried the Zagg case and didn’t like how it felt (it’s awesome on my Mini 5 though.) I have the Logitech now and love how it feels and appreciate the backlight. The Inatek is nice but I didn’t want to have to switch it on/off, and I use it in my lap often which isn’t really doable with the Inatek. I also wasn’t thrilled with it being even larger than the Logitech.
I am currently using a ZAGG Rugged Book (it was $129.00 but is now going for $79.00) for my iPad Air 3. It is not light at all but it has wonderful, solid feel to it and the keyboard is comfortable to type on. The keyboard is detachable and backlit. It also has a secure slot for my pencil. My ONLY problem is (and this is a big problem) I’ve had to get it replaced two times already. For some reason ZAGG cannot seem to send me a keyboard that lasts more than three months. Anyone else having issues with their ZAGG keyboard?
Wouldn’t have discovered this case hadn’t it been for this video. So, thanks! I’m developing a case, a keyboard, a stand, etc., and these kind of videos validate that there are other people than me who think there is a need for something better - something *much* better. Different cases have different advantages (Zugu: pencil; Apple: weight & Smart Connector™; Touchtype Pro: orientations; Brydge: asthetics; etc.; ). But none combine all the best features, and there are not one - but several -, killer features that not a single manufacturer yet has implemented. 🤷♂️ After lots of intense research, purchases and trials, my current setup is - sadly - a combination of a bunch of various products that together weight a lot, cost a lot, takes a lot of time to set up, and still doesn’t provide a fraction of the functionality I’m looking for: Apple Smart Keyboard Folio • Moft stand (landscape orientation) • Twelve South Compass (portrait orientation) • Levit8 (portable standing desk) • a few empty noodle cups (raisers) • iClever BoostType BK06 (screen and keyboard separation, and general ergonomics) • HyperJuice Battery Pack & adapter • a good, short, USB-C cable. SUX(!)! Something that is important for me, that I’d like to see as a variable in video reviews like these, is how easily the whole cover detaches/attaches from the iPad. (The combination of easy attachment, the light weight, and smart connector, is the reason I still use Apple’s own Smart Keyboard Folio, after having tried many options.) Even though that was missing from your review, it was nevertheless very helpful and instructive for me. Keep up the good work! 🙌
The logitech site doesn’t support a delivery option to my country... unfortunately... Anyways I think I will be getting the smart folio Keyboard from apple
I saw on Amazon the keyboard is removable. So it might be really good for for drawing as it can lay flat without keyboard and still be protected. And also it as the kickstand on the back so you can angle for drawing.. Then you can put the keyboard back on for typing or protecting the screen. I might get it. I've been searching for hourrrrrs looking at cases for drawing. This one seems better than Logitec and Apple so far.
Hello, i got a problem with mine. Im typing in Pages and suddenly my right arrow functions change (when i press right arrow, it pressed as left). Can someone please tell me to fix this? Appreciate your help :(
Please could you review the OMOTON ipad pro keyboard case ive looked for this case review but i only found one video released by omoton itself so the video doesn t shox the problems with the case
Tomorrow I will release the the Brydge review to make it even harder 😅 If you want to know the weight of the cases please check out my case comparing here www.paperlessmovement.com/product-cat/ipad-cases/
I bought it the minute I saw the introduction video in spite of having the smart folio keyboard. NO regret. The only regret is that we didn't have the product when I got my iPadPro😭
Haha... I went and bought one because of the video! Let's see how I feel about the feel of it.. On Amazon it says you can take the keyboard off too... That's the selling point that got me to buy it! Of course the colors of the keyboard is pointless, but also a reason I bought it.. Haha thanks for the video!
Apple spent a lot of money into the design of the ipad to make it thin and light as possible so it makes no sense to me to slap on such a heavy case and keyboard to it. Kinda like buying a Prius and slapping on a heavy duty steel guard rail and roll cage on it.
Kinda agree...I do...yeah...iPad feels just better as it is. But people also need to know that there are alternatives out there and yes...this is a heavy one. ;)
Some people just not buying ipad pro just because it’s thin. Ipad pro is powerful device to do creative work. So personally I also want extra protection, I don’t mind the bulkiness as long as my ipad protected while I’m doing my work.
After your last Video about this, i was kind of disapointed. Appel, way to expensive, Zugu without keyboard. The most alternatives are not so durabel. This, i bought instant while looking your Video. Thanks to the viewer who told you this !! (I hope this will meet my expectation)
Should have more B-roll focusing and showcasing the actual keyboard case in stead of focusing on your face while you flipping and adjusting it outside of the screen.
As mentioned, I am using the Zugu case at the moment on a daily basis. This might change if something better is coming its way. However, I want to let you guys know what else is available that I think is worth mentioning, as different people need different cases, right? :)
I’ve bought a few cases and keyboard cases. I’ve stopped using the keyboard cases. Really, if I wanted a Macbook, I would have bought one instead. The problem is when my iPad Pro 12.9” is bulkier and heavier than a Macbook. But right now, with iPadOS, that all of these keyboards might become obsolete, if manufacturers figure out how to make one with a trackpad. While a cursor isn’t totally supported, the support right now is good enough to want a trackpad, even if presently two finger gestures aren’t yet supported. I’d hate to buy a new keyboard case only to find, a short time later, that one with a trackpad had come out. My suggestion is that unless you really need one of these things right now, to wait until either a trackpad keyboard comes out even before the official release of iOS 13, or until it comes out officially, and we get word of what is going to happen. Unless, of course, the cost of another keyboard isn’t an issue. I agree that the Innotek is a good product. The charge port is nuts though at this late date in USB history.
Mel Gross I’ve experimented with the “mouse” functionality in 13 for a while, and personally I don’t think it’s a viable option for the typical user at this time. The “pointer” is too large and it’s just not a fluid experience, but it’s not really meant to be used in the way we are accustomed to use a mouse pointer.
It takes way too much work space,Logitech one needs way less room. Also I have more trust on Logitech brand ,excellent customer service and device internal battery quality.
