That landing was exquisite.... and as sweet as they get. From the slight yaw to nail the centreline, the perfectly timed flare and then a cotton wool nose wheel down. That pilot knows his stuff.

This jet is the closest thing to teleport in existence. Imagine waking up one day at home in London and feeling like having sushi in Kyoto. You could do that with this plane.

Wells Fargo is one of several financial institutions that leases corporate jets. The fact that they own the plane doesn't mean their executives use it. Most likely they're leasing it to some other entity (Starbucks?). Nice video!

Wait a minute; around 2:25 - 2:28 when it was turning onto the runway I noticed the deployed thrust reverser of engine-1, after entering the runway the reverser was stowed. Is assymetric (differential) thrust reverse used for making turns (tight turns that this one didn't seem to be)? Strange to see that.

Sometimes they use left, right or both reverser while taxi. They use the thrust reverser instead of the wheel brakes. So they remain cool and fully operational when needed. Braking excessively does not only wear out the wheel brakes more quickly but increases the danger of glowing hot wheel brakes.

Wow, that never occurred to me. So, its cheaper and safer to burn that little extra fuel on controlled deceleration than to risk having hot brakes that may not be RTO-capable. My next question is "how much reverse thrust is used during these decelerate-while-turning manoeuvres", a little or a lot?

Ahmad Dan-Hamidu I like your well-considered questions. Based on my observations, the reverse thrust is used only a little while taxi. But I cannot give the precise answer because I am not a pilot.

This explains why I have to wait so long for my coffee, pay £1.80 for a slice of cake the size of a custard cream plus other overpriced food, wifi that never works properly, cold premises and rubbish left on the tables for ages. Get a cheaper Jet and then reinvest the money into better service. nice Jet by the way.

wonderful aeroplane lovely livery - superb video and sound capture and great shots of the approach, landing showing the operation of the reverse thrust and flaps on the wings (excuse my ignorance on the correct names!) and lovely sounds from those engines and shot of the climb away - also noticed you captured the moment the landing strip lights came on I thought the pilot did a superb touchdown on landing

I know the Gulfstreams must be very well built, but that wiggle in the horizontal stabilizers, with no more load on the tail surfaces than decelerating on the uneven runway surface, isn’t exactly confidence inspiring.

I am an aircraft mechanic on these aircraft, primarily all large cabin Gulfstream's including the G650. Please do not be fooled by wobble in wings or the horizontal stabilizer, which is the upper tail section of the aircraft. The wobble is the flight characteristics of the aircraft and all aircraft are made to flex to some degree. This is because aircraft are not meant to be stiff and hard to move because this will cause binding and unnecessary forces on the aircraft structure thus compromising the integrity of the internal structure which will cause cracks to develop and stress fractures within the internal structures of the aircraft and cracks are bad. Wobble (Flexing) is a good thing.

Sorry, can't get too excited about that "legacy" paint scheme. Looks like it was lifted from a 1960's vintage turbo prop Gulfstream (the original model...). Kinda like painting a Piper Meridian yellow with a black lightning bolt down the side.

Wells Fargo, trustee. Wells is big in aircraft leasing. I noticed a placard in the cockpit of a Hawaiian Airlines 717 I was on my last island hop... leased through Wells Fargo. They come up on a lot of registrations. I like how Starbucks' CEO, Howard Shultz, gets HIS initials in the tail number.
