I have the brushed 12v impact. Use it every day as a electrician. Obviously it is not designed for putting in big bugle screws. In also have the brushless 12v rotary hammer drill. So lite and great for 6.5 up to 10mm holes. It’s funny everyone gives me hard time at work saying that they are toys yet they are always asking to use them when nobody else is around. 😉

I requested a review on the oil impulse too. Its the only impact driver i have ever owned a think i wanted someone to reasure me i was not mental for spending so much 🤔. Your channel got me thinking to import one from Japan so i've got a black one with japanese writing. Love it to bits.🥰

The xst01 is quiet and softer, but the problem with the oil impulse is the variation of density on the oil in different temperatures and with that...his performance !!

The Oil-Impulse is great for doing duct work, I don't use it for heavy work, more for the fact that I want it to last as long as possible so I baby it more than my other impacts. A few months ago I was on a search for Japanese made impacts and the oil impulse was one of only 2 that I could find that are still made in Japan, the other is the hybrid impacts. This was a good comparison, I have been patiently waiting for another vid from you, I like what you do.

Hi there another nice one from you. Did you know Makita make the best 18v hedge trimmers. The DUH602 is better than the other bigger brands like the Milwaukee and DeWalt. I never saw them with a real fault at our Makita service centre. Please try and make a video on them as well. They are the quietest and most effective in their class even when compared with the likes of a Petrol ones.

I remember the time I told you to try the oil impulse 😅... I don't have the 40v impact but I have all the rest makita impacts and the oil one it's my favourite. The oil one It's quiter on the impacts but the motor revs seems noisier 🤔

I'm a little surprised there wasn't a bigger difference between the 40v and the 18v. Great video though!
@shaquedelilicss7849

Because there isnt. The motor is nearly the same Watts. It draws half the amps with twice the amount of Volts, but the power remains same. Resulting less heat loss and tiny bit more efficiency

Good to see you back Mate! Great video! Yes, 2021 started off with a bang over here, sad to say. Our Democracy is getting severely tested here. Anyway, I digress. Why didn’t you use the 6.3 in the 40 volt? And why not the 7.2 in the 18 volt? Every video, I don’t get it... 🙄😃😀😬😀😂🤣👍👍👍. Seriously people, get over your battery fetishes! 😁. The oil impulse driver is sweet. There’s a lot to be said for the advantages of a hydraulic driver, especially in interior situations where noise can be a factor. Hope the New Year brings you health happiness and prosperity! Cheers! Peace 👍👍👍😁✌🏻🍺🎉

I recently supplemented my 18v sub compact XDT15ZB with the 18V Oil‑Impulse XST01Z. Torque spec difference 1,240 vs 355 in lbs is not apparent in use. I think the weight and girth penalty of the hydraulic driver are worth it for the quieter and smoother driving.

The oil-impulse driver is a great tool. Have had one for maybe seven years. The first one has been stuck in the fastest speed setting for a couple years, so i bought another one of the same model. Compared to the normal impact models that my colleagues use, this one is so much nicer because of being significantly quieter. Also the design is somehow nicer. However, heat or freezing climate do limit its use, so for that it is good to have something else for backup. I have a smaller and a bigger impact wrench (with driver adapters) for that.

Really nice comparison, as always. Why do the 3-6Ah all weigh the same? Always went for 4Ah because i thought the 6Ah would be to heavy :/
@arendmookhoek4314

Different cells I guess, better quality cells will give more AH per gram. However it does seem insane that both 4 and 6 AH would way the same.

They don't weigh exactly the same, but there is only a few grams in it, not enough to notice when you pick them up. I did a video on it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S0Akva_bqZ4.html

If you do want light weight, just use the 2.0 AH batteries. The 12v has very little size and weight advantage when doing so. If you arent just doing massive amounts of large screws, or super heavy duty bolts, then I just use the 2.0. In fact i use it prob 98% of the time. In addition to the XDT16 (what that top 18v one is called in the US) I also have their sub compact impact as well and its prob the one to get if you want light and compact and half the cost of the top end.
