We talk about how to use the mapping resources in Electric Bastionland, by Chris McDowall! The guidelines and random tables in this book are amazing, and something every Mapper and GM should try!

Couldn’t agree more. Chris reduces cluttered ideas of movement and locale and pointcrawl into effortless, high-impact, actually-easily-usable means of generation.

I'm an aspiring DM that found your channel not too long ago. I decided to order the book at your behest, eventually got around to reading some of the wisdom in it and can't thank you enough. Great inspiration. It's cool, absurd stuff like this that makes me feel like running the game is a gift, not a chore.

Your House of the Mad Architect reminds me of House on the Rock, a tourist attraction and especially weird place in Southern Wisconsin.

I love your style of drawing- not too cluttered, and gets the point across! I'm completely hopeless at it though- my only experience is isometric drawings for an engineering class. Do you have any tips?

Thank you! I think you will find several helpful videos on this channel that are all tips on drawing isometric maps! The videos I did first are longer, but they show every step of the process from beginning to end!

So are the tables mostly dystopian futuristic things or could they be used for a more traditional fantasy setting? I'm on the fence about buying it.

It is mostly this early 20th century vibe, but it’s worth looking through. Into the Odd is a briefer version of the book that skews more fantasy. I recommend the Questing Beast video on the book to help you make up your mind.
