What pisses me off is the huge amount of bits and Allen keys. Just make a kit with ratchets, sockets, wrenches, extensions and adapters. That's it, I don't care how many bits are in it, just sell people what they want,.... a serious mechanic set.

I have enjoyed both of your reviews of tool sets. I was in the market for some truck tools and I think the metric only sets from Tekton might be a great choice for me so thanks for the suggestion! If you want to continue doing these comparisons I would suggest adding some of the really cheap Amazon sets as well to see how they do against the more established brands.

Love your videos and the shake test! Driving a flat bed truck through the mountains and a couple ditches going across a rocky road is what we do. Tools ain't cheap so appreciate you doing these comparisons for our education. I'd be happy to see a destruction test of wrenches/sockets/ ratchet wrenches from various manufactures not usually stress tested like dewalt, crescent, Stanley, duratech, etc... plus a Pittsburgh or craftsman tool in there for reference to be able to compare a more complete picture. Seems that's what youtube is lacking.

I like the vids, keep up the awesome work! I definitely wouldn’t mind see another part to the series. I’ve actually been contemplating lately on upgrading from my craftsman sockets to tecktons. The big thing for me is the “no skips” missing sizes screw with my OCD. Even if I’ll never use that size, it’s nice to know I have it. I guess I’m just weird like that lol.

I’ve been in the market for a starter set to work on my cars mostly maintenance and repairs, and your videos being in depth helps out so much! And I actually appreciate you shaking them around, if I dropped my current cheapo tool box or even opened it wrong I’d have to spend 30 mins putting everything back.. So far I’m looking at that craftsman from the giveaway and then maybe building on it with some tekton tools in the future. But now the GearWrench caught my eye haha either way Looking forward to part 2!!

I found this channel through the first round of tool sets reviews. I absolutely love this idea for a channel. This biggest problem I have with all of these sets are the skips and the tools that you get that are filler. I would love to see a video where you could go and piece together a decent tool set with no skips and no fill and have a decent set of tools. For example, My 1/4" tool set came from O'Riley's auto. I didn't like their 3/8" and 1/2" stuff though. I did like a Tekton 3/8" set so I got that. The only limitation would be what individual people are working on. A home tool box, doesn't look like mine, when I work mostly on cars. Love this, keep it up.

As a native Michigander, I like how much love Tekton has been getting the last couple years. They've stepped up their game big time, and they should absolutely be in more people's arsenals. New to your channel, the videos are great 👍 audio is definitely getting better lol. Thanks for sharing your opinion on all these tool sets. It’s really nice having some insight on what to consider buying. It’s very helpful again Thank you! I personally have the Tekton set love the ratchet very comfortable in the hand and also it’s nice that they include the breaker bar. I also was in a tech program when I bought it and tekton offer a 15% off for student on top of the 10% they give you back. So it was actually very affordable when I first started out. I would love to see a part two maybe seeing what you think about the husky set or Milwaukee set.

Great job and review. I will share my experience with the only Gear Wrench that I warranted was completely different than yours. I sent them a picture and had the wrench back in 4-7 days. I don’t remember the exact time, but I was impressed with the no hassle exchange. I will preface that it was pre-COVID for what it’s worth. Also, definitely need to include the Dewalt 192 as it is the most complete for a starter set and was down around $100-$120 during BF last year. I completely love the Tektons too and how they are doing things. Warranty matters, which is why I give Harbor Freight a lot more credit than most even though I don’t have a ton of their tools. I definitely have my fair share, and know I could swap something easily if needed.

Wallyworld currently has a Hart 221-piece set on sale for $94 (normally $148) that I wouldn't mind you looking at. As far as I know, you're the only guy doing these head-to-head looks at these kits by price point who really evaluates both the good and the bad. And if you're giving away that Craftsman kit, I'd give it a good home. UPDATE: I actually snagged one of those Hart 221-piece kits just now for $47!!! It was an "open box" one, all there, but missing its cardboard cover. Just for a gag I hauled it over to the nearby camping and sporting goods desk and asked what they could do on the price, and they slashed that already-on-sale $94 price by 50%, just like that. It's not a bad little kit with 90 tooth ratchets, easy-to-read sockets, and the perhaps the least "filler" or "fluff" of any such "Mechanic's" box kit I've ever seen. Honestly, I needed another 200+ piece tool kit like I need gills on my buttocks, but sure I bought it. Wouldn't you?

Definitely a part 2. it'd be nice to see the Pittsburg 225 piece set.

Love the vids, they've helped me decide which sets to go with.

I appreciate your content, good stuff! If I had anything to say as you go through the sets, is maybe mention the product names a tiny bit more. I liked the 216 pc Craftsman. I went to get the set but couldn’t pull the trigger. Instead, I bought their 25 pc screwdriver set, and went elsewhere for the 32 pc wrench combination set. I wish I waited for more Black Friday deals to see how things shake out. Why I went with Craftsman is because I’m not as heavy a user as I used to be. I also saw a video of a Tekton wrench rounding out, whereas the Craftsman snapped the head of a bolt right off; but savings and how much I’d really use being my deciding factor.
