6:31 There's that old saying, "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game". I had a game recently where my team didn't do very well. The tank fed, my partner DPS got almost no kills, etc. and we lost. But I personally had a ton of good plays and the best e/d in the lobby. Sometimes it's better not to let the actual win or loss linger in your head, but just focus on your performance. Did you do well? Then you had a good game, even if you lost it. Focusing on that mentality can help make ranked more bearable.

Btw in case anyone got confused. At 6:10, he accidentally said to pop high noon before the pull but this is wrong TLDR: Sky noon = Pull > Roll > Noon If you want to understand how this is possible, you have to understand how pull works. Pulled targets will move at a constant speed twards Lifeweaver position as long as it has LoS of where Lifeweaver was where he pressed the button. At the end of pull, the pulled target will decelerate rapidly and then be droped. The pulled target has no way of influencing where they are dropped except for heros that have ability that change their move speed. Abilities that change the heros speed will always overide pull. Roll (cree), Charge (rein and mauga), and fade (moira and reaper) are just some of the abilities that change your move speed and can free you from pull. If you free yourself from pull you will keep the speed at which you were traveling, meaning that if you do it before you decelerate you will effectively slingshot yourself. with cass specifically, you can cancel roll with your ultimate to do a "sky noon" since roll is coded more like a dash meaning you can press any button except for movement inputs. The key to a good sky noon is to press your ultimate as close as possible to your roll to keep as much of the speed from pull as possible. Ok, long explanation is over. Hope this helps someone and I hope to see more flying crees, reins and meis in my games.

Not my favorite combo in general, but last week I happened to pop my tire about the same time the random Sigma ulted at the final push hairpin turn on Dorado. I climbed the tire up the tower platform, and the entire enemy team happened to be held aloft *right there* by Sigma's ult. Easy 5 elims. Also got the achievement for eliminating 4 people at once with tire. More of an opportunity than anything skillful, but it still felt like one of the classic Overwatch moments.

a lot of these questions always boil down to "stop stressing over how to control other ppl". u can't. if u try, they will usually rebel bc they're not ur "teammates", they're just random ppl. as karq said, managing expectations is the key. u can't win every match, that's an inherent fact of a competitive game, so don't go in stressing about how to ensure victory, just focus on doing ur personal best. if u genuinely did ur absolute best and don't know what u could have done better, it is what it is, next match.

I think the best mentality is just knowing that everything is just a game and lower your ego, also its not a mentality but knowing when to mute people is Also needed, the point of playing a game is to have fun

As a Lucio main, it brings me great joy when a slow tank wastes time chasing me. Same for Tracer, Ball, Winton, etc.

I think Ram would benefit from a gravitic aspect to the ravenous vortex. Something like an area of effect where projectiles are skewed in the air and can have a limited effect to alter aim. Could be a fairly offensive ability that would help make space more effectively.

Hot take: The lack of LFG is fundamentally killing OW. New players play a few games, have someone scream at them, and then quit. Rather than having an opportunity to learn and communicate with a team. And potentially find new people to play with long term. So they play a few games and then quit. I can't stand playing solo as a tank player. (even more so without my tank duo.....) People hardly ever communicate in team chat and it's hard to set up wombo combos. I refuse to play when I don't have friends on. And having LFGs in OW1 allowed me to build a roster of friends to pub stomp.

The best mentality for competitive is remembering the dumbest thing you saw someone else do in a comp game and realize people are doing that CONSTANTLY in games on both sides of the match and not to worry about making mistakes.

The idea that Zarya vs Dva is a fair fight forgets that Dva has 4 teammates she needs to tank for, and if those teammates don't understand the matchup, they're likely to get beamed to death and wonder where their tank is. I don't know if anyone likes having a Tank on their team that always needs to run from the other tank.

I find Monkey more of a Dva counter than Zarya. Yes a good Zarya can keep enough pressure on you so that you have to play super careful but she can’t really follow you too much and with skill you can keep a safe distance and kill her entire team while she wastes resources to follow you around all game. With monkey, even tho he’s usually considered to be weak vs Dva) can do a much better job at following you all over and his dmg can get past your matrix. Not only that but having to constantly burst his bubble down makes it so you’re constantly having to commit your rockets to it and miss out on other opportunities for dmg or kills. Monkey also makes it so the Dva has to commit to pealing cause he’s gonna be in her supports in a way that Zarya can’t. I know this is not a celebrated opinion but it’s just how I feel as a Dva main.

10:43 the last time i ever joined VC, over a year ago, had someone complaining about the tank i was playing but also didnt think it was their place to say what tank they wanted. I WENT OFF at them. You cannot tell someone to swap and not give a single suggestion.

I feel that the DVa v Zarya is really dependent on the rest of the teams

Don't even bother with comp if you are plat/low diamond the devs messed up the matchmaking and the game won't hesitate to make you the worst player in the lobby 5+ games in a row by putting you in masters lobbies where you're the lowest ranked person at plat rank. Combined with a small chance to play against GM players if your rank gets too close to diamond means that sometimes the game is just straight up not competitive. I'm a hardstuck plat player and I CONSTANTLY have to play against masters players, I'm extremely used to losing at this point so I don't find the losses tilting, my issue is mainly that getting flamed for being plat in a masters lobby is genuinely more interactive than actually playing the game against masters players as a plat. I shouldn't have to endure getting shit on by masters players in what feels like over half my games. What does it fucking mean to be platinum if you're gonna have games where you and 1 person are plat and literally everyone else is diamond/masters? I used to be diamond rank and it made QP unplayable because it was just constant GM fucking machines destroying me over and over. Let me opt out of wide matches as a solo queue player so I can stop getting put into games where I'm going to be useless because my teammates notice I'm awful and stop helping me. And I can't even blame them for cutting off the help to the plat player in a masters lobby, because there's basically 0 chance giving me resources is worth it anyway.

Ram is the coolest tank there is, i hate that he isnt as good as he used to be

The Tracer one I felt that I've been told at least 3 times in the last 3 days that I should help with the flying Moth IT'S NOT MY FUCKING JOB AS A TANK TO DEAL WITH HER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AIM Also tank is more game knowledge extensive even the low skill ones because 1 mistimed Fortify and you're getting Fluxed

Hot take: dps has the most pressure for any role because they have to be the ones who put the most pressure on the enemy as well as being able to kill things fast enough so that fights don't drag on to get the first advantages in a match.

HOT TAKE: People need to stop complaining about counterswapping, its literally a skill issue, counterswapping is one of the KEY mechanics to the game, learn multiple characters somewhat proficiently and if you're a one trick then you deserve to get diffed...also DPS SHOULD be the most oppressive role, if a DPS and support stand on either side of a character the damage SHOULD outperform the healing substantially
