This is why I get so confused on how to get good on a character in ow2. I look at one guide that says to use ventures burrow to leave/disengage from a fight and use drill to engage while flats is say to use burrow and drill to engage, Its confusing sometimes

I think the thing with drill dash is that at first, even for me it looked useless, bad damage, and though it had the same cooldown. Now I know that it has half cool down so I use it more often. Just some food for though

Oh good...Im not the only person that frozen screen bug has happened to. Ive had it happen twice but I thought it was my computer.

There was someone in one of my matches pre-nerf who refused to swap off Venture in ranked while we were vsing a pharmercy and I told them “If gravity effected your bullets maybe you’d be getting value.”

So I'm a Venture main too, stuck in bronze (but deserved, I suck, whatever...), but I know my main issues. I do the cooldown/combos you talk about correctly (for the most part...no one is perfect). My main problem is my left clicks. What's the best way to practice that? Just queue up for quick plays and focus on the left clicks? Practice range doesn't do much for me since the targets aren't moving erratically like in real matches. Really just helps me practice my combos. I WILL focus a little more on trying to hit their feet now that you said that...never thought about it, but makes sense since her attack explodes.

7:35 can we stop calling high burst damage 1 shots. 1 shots are a very specific thing. 1 button press = death. The only true one shot is widow scoped in and ults like tire, bomb, doom ult center etc. is cass tapping your head 2 times a one shot? No, so why is venture using 4 buttons a 1 shot. It’s better to say insta kill you couldn’t react to it. Even junkrat had to press 3 buttons to get his insta kill and people called that a one shot. It just takes away from the fact that true one shots, outside of ults, are too oppressive. Even 2 shots are a bit boring to deal with if there is very little counterplay.

Man this had me playing more comp tonight and let me tell you. Let. Me. Tell. You. I am not exactly great, or even good. But I'm really not sure how decent I can be when I'm watching shots phase through enemies. When my Invuln abilities are active on my screen, but the kill came of the person who killed me saw nothing of it. This game is sometimes so hard to play and it feels like the server-client connections are about 40% of what's keeping me from enjoying this game and trying to improve further. The other 60% is god aweful see-saw balancing (about 5%) and 55% players who I think really should not be allowed anywhere outside of the training room.

I honestly didn’t have much, if any trouble learning venture. Their play-style clicked for me in my first couple matches and now I main them on DPS. I think it’s because I used to main DPS Doom back in OW1, and cause venture is basically DPS Doom 2.0 everything about how they play just makes sense to me, I even picked up on most of the tech flats is talking about on my own.

I'm convinced this person couldn't hit the floor if they threw their hat at it.

i play venture extremely different than your advice and this but usually take solo Gravitons to the face. From my experience the dash really should only used to isolate someone and guarantee a kill or force the enemy tank into ur team. The one-shot is only applicable to tracer and widow because in low ranks typically supports just preheal tanks or their duo because they are unaware so you need your cooldowns to get to get health packs.

I have a real question, what do i do after capturing a point? I usually just find myself standing around.

When your game sense and mechanics are so silver that the perma jumping is not even a mentionable offense. Spend literally half an hour in VAXTA and rebind jump to a different key and you'll climb to gold EASY. This applies to everyone though, not just this venture.

On the mechanical side, it also looks like this person's sensitivity is way too high. They either dont move their screen or they over-shoot their target, sometimes so badly they lose sight all together.
