Quick important update: I think you all are right that the Good Molecules is lighter in weight 👀 I’ve had mine for a while, which makes me wonder if it has dried out partially, and thus feels heavier? As mentioned in the video, I have an order coming with it - so I’ll do a comparison and make sure to update! Hope you’re all having a fantastic weekend 💕
This style of video is stressful (because there’s so many options) but also unbelievably helpful (because there’s so many options lol). I know this video took A LOT OF WORK and I appreciate you ❤️
Yep it's great! Especially a sleeping mask/ampoule as the last step (will be in the masks video!) Although perhaps people don't talk about it because it's odd to non-skincare enthusiasts? I was talking about my second moisturizer (to my brother) and he called me a hobbit. Second breakfast, second moisturizer. Yeah I couldn't even be mad at him; I think I might actually be a skincare hobbit? Sounds fitting.
I do, even 3 times. if I wake up in the middle of the night to have some water or use bathroom I apply skincare once more. I’m a bit addicted to moisturizers 😂
@@dcdawn yes! I usually do a creamy toner like pc skin recovery or fab wild oat toner than I apply a ceramide serum like liquid gold and seal it all up with whatever moisturizer I have around. In the winter if I don’t do this my skin gets itchy, red and not happy. Having a humidifying helps a lot.
@@sunshine9993 Oh TY That is perfect info as it incorporates much of what I have..I could bathe in the FAB Wild Oat toner..I am assuming the liquid gold is the Stratia product? This helps immensely..Thank you
I find myself nodding along to a lot of your opinions, ie I love hearing about deals too, and I also thought stratia liquid gold is more like a serum not moisturizer (and I have combo oily skin not dry). Thanks for all your hard work on this video!! I'm going to watch it 2 times to take notes for future product ideas 💕💕
Great video as always, thank you Alice and also Ara's arm lol. I think I agree with all of your stand-out products, at least the ones I've tried. Especially the Stratia and Alpyne (Alpine?) Beauty. (I would personally add the Protini and Real Barrier; just love those peptides.) Also the Elemis cleansing balm is beautiful so I'd love to try their moisturizer someday. I respect Ghost Democracy so much from what I've seen, but haven't tried them yet!
I keep crossing my fingers that Ghost Democracy picks up a ton of momentum and suddenly ends up in Ulta (...for them, and for me. Because points 🤐 lol) No idea how they're such a hidden gem brand!!
Ghost Democracy definitely is one I will save for because I like knowing the percentages of ingredients like ceramides or probiotics. I am looking forward to serums, I have really enjoyed your rankings of different products.
This was SO great! I have so many good options now I want to try, but I think I’ll start with ghost democracy. Really appreciate the time and effort that went into this! I was kind of surprised you didnt mention regimenlabs moisturizer
Thanks for putting me onto Ghost Democracy. I can't wait to try their heavy ceramide moisturizer. I have tried several ceramide products and I have never found one that didn't have actives, silicones or HA. Super excited to try it.
Selfish question…Will your serums video(s) be out before the 12th when the new Sephora coupon ends? Loving this series, thank you for putting them out!
Oh shoot. I was planning on starting it right after; ugh that is a bummer!! (And it's work related so I really can't bump it up 😭) Well. I can answer any questions in the meantime? Let me know if there's something specific you're trying to find!
Alice I was obsessed with DE Protini and went to go get a new one and picked up the Skinfix Barrier + Triple Lipid Peptide cream. It’s like Protini with a thicker consistency and smooths me out like no other Lol
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yes I am! Thank you! I had my baby in August he’s almost 4 months now! I hope you are doing well. I appreciate all your videos so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my god, I had the SAME THOUGHT. I did a double take before I filmed this: quite the "wait....oh." Is it just that it needs a comma?! Then again, I'm not one to talk about punctuation - i seem to like it too much (see?!? 🤣)
Ohhh, Fresh sounds very interesting! I also would like to try that Farmacy Honey…. I have just started the Farmacy Honey Grail (my 1st oil) and am enjoying it so far! That Ghost moisturizer sounds great! 👻
Sooooo many things to try in 2022, once I work a little further down my stash. I am going to use this video to make a wish list, especially the last two categories. I just finished my jar of Happy Hydration, which was a perfect spring/summer night cream and was actually working out for fall too with the addition of some oils on top. Now I have been using the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream and I love it. I have the 111Skin day and night creams (which are way out of my budget) (Sub boxes) and I do like them a lot. They remind me of Philosophy's hope in a jar sort of with some actives mixed right in for more of a multitasking product. The interesting thing tho is that the night cream doesn't seen heavy enough to me. I'll just use it as another day cream. Of course, I got it just when the weather turned so maybe it could work at night in summer. Is the scent on the Fresh rose cream strong? I wonder if it would make me wheeze.
111Skin!! Ah their prices are so out there (aren't they the brand that claims to have astronaut technology....for some reason? "Out of this world prices", if so 🤣) I did notice I got a small size product from them in the Skinstore box...and very curious to see how it goes! I'd say yes, it does smell like rose. Which typically I don't love, but I love a heavy duty moisturizer that isn't difficult to work into my skin. It's such a surprise all around that I love it so much!
Thank you farmer has a cream that is gel and cream in one kinda sperate but together Wich looks really cool and interesting I have heard really good things about that I want to try it just reminded me of it when u pulled out that yellow cream I dew care . I love those brands that give u options on a sent or not because I prefer no sent maybe I'm gonna have to tried that Keys moisturizer that wasn't even on my radar till u mentioned it. Have u tried the torrid solid in ceramide cream I also heard it was a dupe for the Dr jart without sent and ess oils. I also wanna try should have bought it on BFriday for 18 I'm having fomo now..lol
Same! I felt like I did so well shopping the BF/CM deals, but now I'm wondering if I didn't buy enough 😆 I probably did - will have to reevaluate once my orders all arrive lol
Hello my beautiful friend! I’m loving this series! Thank you so much for all this work you put into this and your assistance arm lol.. you know I wish company’s would offer more sample sizes to try! I love the little jars but I have so many moisturizers that haven’t worked for my dry, sensitive skin! So much 💵 down the drain!! Thank you so much and have a wonderful weekend! 🥰🥰
Go on Amazon they have a set with the tatcha pearl eye cream it is on sale today for 50$ they have the moonlight shade to the light one and it's comes with the lip mask and the primer balm ah the primer balm I'm not into but 50 for the other 2 full size products is great and it ships from Tatcha . I think the sale isn't long though and it's regular price is 80 I looked to see if they had just the eye cream it's like 43 bye its self but they don't have the light shade only the darker ones.
Excited for this video! Love my moisturizers! Glow recipe watermelon is one I keep forgetting to watch for sales at Sephora, but one day I will try it as it sounds lovely! Farmacy Gel I tried, I gave it away. 😂 Nothing wrong with it, I just did not find it enough, and for a gel I enjoy my Tarte H2O more. H20 I find so refreshing and works for me certain months. Aveeno Oats calming, I want to pick that up for my daughter to try, thanks for reminder! Aveeno I find is not all the cheap IMO, maybe years ago it was but I know my daughters Aveeno eczema line costs a pretty penny still. But the baby and adult eczema line is worth it!!! 💯
Yeah that’s true - Aveeno is a more expensive, even if still “technically” drugstore brand. The best I did was a Walgreens cash deal - I think I paid around $10 for each taking into account the $ earned!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole That’s a awesome price, SCORE!!! No Walgreens here. I think the baby eczema cream I bought her for my daughter for longest time was $20. Then we upgraded to a eczema adult bigger jar and now thinking of it, maybe not as expensive as I was thinking as about $25-30. 🤔 maybe it is Neutrogena products more pricey, I’ve tried a couple and we used there sunscreen for years (still do sometimes but only mineral now) I always used mineral on my daughter, until she refused as she noticed she looked like a ghost). 👻 😂
No crossover here, not with my oily-prone-to-dehydration, sensitivity-of-a-rhino skin! My HG night cream is still Drunk Elephant Lala Retro. My sweet face also loves YTTP Adaptogen and CosRx Propolis Light Cream and Perricone H2 Cloud Cream but not as much as my beloved Lala. The only other 3 I’ve tried were the Jart (did nothing for me), the DE Protini (good not great) and the Fresh (lovely but the rose scent was too strong). My moisturizer tries are almost always Sephora samples so pricey products but at least no pricey fails.
I love those Sephora GWPs! They've helped point me in the right direction so many times, from avoiding certain products to finding products I love. Perricone is so poorly represented on RU-vid that I hadn't even heard of that cloud cream. Utterly bizarre! I'm loving the cold cream moisturizer right now, but too new to me to include in this ranking
@@AliceintheRabbitHole the scientific claims seem utterly ridiculous to me, kinda turned me off the product and the brand. But there’s no denying my sweet face loves it and if it’s in the January sale I’ll repurchase.
I'm curious if you know if Ghost Democracy is gluten free or not? I noticed most of their products contain oat and unfortunately I try to avoid that ingredient as my partner has celiac/gluten allergy that way I dont have to worry if he kisses/touches my cheek, forehead etc. That brand sounds really interesting but I couldn't really find on their website much about how they source their oat ingredients and I didn't see gluten or wheat as a restricted ingredient.
Thank you, I'm still looking for my favorite moisturizer. I have tried a lot but haven't found one I love that is in my price range(I say that bc I have the PTR water drench that would be my fav but I got it half off and can't afford at full price lol). I am getting elf holy hydration soon, I hear it is similar🤞🏻. Can't wait to try some of your recommendations🖤
Agree about the Pyunkang Yul moisture! My favorite ever was discontinued the Racinne Ultimate Defense Illuminating Cream. Still looking for my new favorite, closest #2 & not that close, like the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream.
Atopalm MLE cream is a good find for me. It looks thick and stiff, but it actually melts easily and glides smoothly on the skin. It's comfortable and not suffocating at all. It's interesting how it contains the ingredient MLE, which is patented by the brand. It's skin identical. Oh, I think it's fragrance free as well.
Love the Dew Point from Versed. I think a similar product I like even more is Trader Joe’s Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. It has aloe, green tea extract, and hyaluronic acid and is about $8.
I miss Trader Joe’s SO much. We no longer have one where we moved - and they really did have some great options Admittedly, I miss the cheese selection the most 😭😭
Medium moisturizers so far is my favourite! Except Banana Soufflé…. I received one and me and my daughter loved that laffy taffy smell, so I ran out and bought two more jars as it was on a great sale. Well…. We did not even receive the 2 jars in mail and realized my daughter could not use it, her skin is too sensitive for most so that was not a huge surprise. It did not hurt her as many face products do but it actually broke her out and we very rarely break out. So I took it over and sure enough….I broke out as well within a couple days. I stopped using it but I so much wanted to use it that I tried two more times.🤞😂. But I broke out a little again and again.🥲 Good thing was we only had to toss the one jar and between us we put a good lil dent in it. So it did not feel too wasteful, and the two new jars I sold online at what I bought and they went fast. Popular!
Mmhmm I think Glow Recipe is evolving into better usage of fragrance. I wouldn’t be surprised if this new plum plump moisturizer is less irritating and eventually replaces the banana cream! I saw it happen with the pineapple serum vs guava 👀
@@AliceintheRabbitHole That would be great! I have to admit, I loved that banana smell and why I tried 3 times as really wanted to use it! 🍌 I also love skincare that smells like oranges. 🍊 😂
I would love to see you review Honeyskin Ultimate face and body cream. I think you would love it. I’ve been using the Real Barrier Extreme Cream for a little while and I’ve noticed you don’t need to buff it in fully at all. Just let it sink in for 10-15 minutes after applying and it will truly just sink into your skin. I was really amazed how it just sinks in and my skin just gobbled it up fully. I really love it.
I have been using the Eucerin Ato control which is fragrance free and so good on my parched skin. Seems to be the only one that seems to work with my retinol and acids. This is also quite cheap. I am in th UK so not sure if you get it.
I really enjoyed this video. That’s a lot of products and work! For me, Haney Halo is the winner; love it. I’m a little surprised that the Good Molecules is in the heavy weight, I remember it didn’t feel like enough for me when I tried it. The Kora and the Medicube look great; I’ll give them a try soon.
I think you’re right!! Pinned a comment that my GM may have changed texture, which is…intriguing. Can’t wait to get my order and compare to a fresh bottle
When your skin is very sensitive, I'd honestly recommend aquaphor/CeraVe healing ointment (🤐 some people very much disagree, but it's how I recovered fairly quickly after the Augustinus Based tragedy - it's basically Neosporin without the antibiotics). Or for a mineral oil free option, the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Ampoule!
Alice do you know of any fragrance free moisturusers like ole henriksons transforming cream or glow recipe aha facial? It sucks that the products that are perfect are stinky.
Is it the AHA content that you're looking for vs the texture? I have to be cautious with AHAs, so I'm actually kind of weak in having sampled a lot there. I sure know what you mean about the smell though lol - I can mentally smell those products on the mention of their name alone 🤣
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Yeah, it's the gentle aha with the moisture combo that my skin loves. My nose literally hurts with fragrance though and if it doesnt straight away its just a matter of time. The toner in the blue bottle from ole henrikson straight up smells like candy! I know thats a different category but why ole?!
Sometimes I think Ole Henriksen forgets he makes skincare and not perfume!! I'm going to really have to think about this one. I feel like there MUST be something, but whew, it's not coming to mind. Hopefully I come back later with a mega lightbulb moment LOL!!
My skin enjoys the thick moisturizers too, at night every night! Elemis Marine is my next one to try (or Algenist Genius Collegen, not sure yet which I will break open next) but I still have to finish my IT Confidence in a Cream, it’s huge and since I use it only at night and forget sone nights, it’s lasting forever!! 😂 I know many do not love that cream (I think the name is silly) but TBH my skin seems to like it and I love how thick it is. I also have a Saturday skin pretty pop and Tarte baba to try and they sound thicker, Cannot wait to see this last category! 👏 😁
Oooh let me know how Baba goes for you. I’ve heard a lot of good things about that one, but Tarte isn’t discussed as much on RU-vid anymore - so I’ve actually never seen a review. Just anecdotes from buyers!
whoaaa so surprised to see the good molecules in the heavy category. I have dry skin and I used it exactly once (AM) and was like NOPE and gave it to someone with oily skin. I felt like I skipped moisturizer that day! so weird. also 100% agree about the fresh rose one. I never feel dry when I use it and that's... rare. it's such relief to my skin it's even made me kind of like the smell of rose??
I think you’re right!! I pinned a comment - my GM is old, and I’m now wondering if it’s changed texture. I have a new one coming soon, so I’ll make sure to compare!
