Enjoyed your vid. I motovlog with a half-helmet and the audio is pretty good thanks to my beard filter. I watch Adam Sandoval, Ryan Urlacher, When Pigs Fly, Touring Midwest, Big Bad Wolf Moto, Harley Day Rider, Knuckles TV, and some others.
You, the Blockhead crew, the Bike N' Bird crew, some Walterrific. I've checked out Matt Laidlaw and Shadetree Surgeon. I'm really big into bike builds, wrenching, and reviews/test rides.
Thanks for sharing this John. I used a lot of your tips so I gave you a shout out in the setup video I recently posted. I really enjoy your channel and your no-BS delivery of knowledge.
Thank you! Have you ever explored using a bluetooth connection between a SENA and the video camera? If it would work, this would be a great waterproof connection and eliminate the need for a microphone adaptor or Media Mod.
I asked about GoPro mount on your helmet in last video about travel bags and balanced packing...🤷🏿♂️🤣😎. Next time I’ll scroll before asking. Appreciate your vids
What’s up JM! Thanks for the setup tips. I generally follow you, Blockhead and Matt Laidlaw. I’m a huge H-D nerd! I live in Central Florida. I start at MMI on Feb 8th and just bought a 2020 FLHCS 2 weeks ago. I’m loving it! Planning on starting a channel to document my build on the Heritage, my progress/experience at MMI, and then my journey as a H-D tech thereafter. Hopefully some collabing and riding with you and Block at some point! Ride safe 🤘🏻
John I am starting a Moto Vlog. I will be using the Hero 7 Black and looking at the GoPro Max 360 or the Insta360 one R. I did see your review on the Insta360 and leaning toward that due to the exchangeable lenses. I also use a helmet comm, do you use both? Oh yeah and by the way, my chariot is a 2007 Street Glide. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🤜🤜🤜
so... i cant find a hero5 or 6... only the 7s... and the white and silver are not good enough...and the hero black7 is $400... thats not with a memory card or anything...
What kind of velcro did you used or what's the brand of it, the mic adapter rubberized body it's hard for it to stick something into it, has it fell of ever since?
Can’t wait to hear the mic setup. That’s probably the number one problem with motovloging. I still don’t like my mic setup. The wind noise is a killer.
John Maxwell I have the Sony Clip style Omnidirectional Stereo Microphone - ECMCS3. My helmet is a speed and strength ss1300. The SS1300 is a non production helmet, but it just fits my head awesome.....I bought two😁. I was thinking of going to the GoPro 5, but I ended up sticking with my hero 3+ . I also run my camera off of a external battery, that is why I stuck with the 3+. Plus hero 3+ are cheap refurbished on eBay. A company called switchtronics....I believe, makes the battery adapter for the hero3 so a external battery can be used.
Nice! I think that’s the mic I almost ordered. At the last minute I found out it doesn’t work past the “4”. Everybody recommends the one I got. So we’ll see. External recorder is the best, but $$$
John Maxwell Yeah as soon as I pay my Victory off you might as well call me Darth Vader😁. I think im going to get the road king special.....actually, I’ve went back and forth between all the models. The softails are so great to ride, I don’t even know what I want ...🙃... bags, no bags, I can’t make up my mind...
Thanks for the tips! I want to just video trips with my wife on our Ultra Limited for our own watching. I follow you, Adam Sandavol and Blockhead. Keep the cool videos coming!!
Happy New Year John...! I watch you, Matt Laidlaw, and Maikeli7 (he's a motovloger on a 2017 Ultra Classic with stage IVkit). That helmet rig ought to work like a champ!
I got myself a new Biltwell Gringo S for Christmas! I watch Adam Sandoval and Matt Laidlaw. Most of the others out there just ride around bitching about what bothers them. They sound like whiney little girls. Not the kinda riders I associate myself with. Hopefully you have some original content. I've really enjoyed your shop vids.
While I have plenty of complaining to do, you guys will likely not ever hear it! I’d rather send off positive vibes into the World Wide Web, there’s enough complaining! Hopefully instead of sitting at a picnic table I’ll be on a bike more often!
Great vid!! I watch Blockhead, Bike and Bird, Motonewbrider. I’m planning on buying my first bike in March, a 2017 Street Bob I’m hoping is still there when I’m ready lol
John Maxwell I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I just went in October to the riders academy at a local dealership and I am anxious to get my bike and ride.
It seems like I may have mentioned the motovloggers I watch in another video of yours, however, my memory isn't for shit lately, so if this is a repeat of information, I apologize. The motovloggers I watch the most are, Maikeli7, HarleyTrek, and BroncoRide, who all ride very nice 2017 touring Harley Davidson's, and theSymrnaCowboy, who rides a Burgman. These are a great bunch of guys; that I have had the pleasure of knowing and riding with for a few years now, when we attend meetups! Ride safe man, and keep the shiny side up!
I just rewatched this video and decided to sub! I set my helmet up very similarly, but after a few months of pulling the mic adapter in and out to remove battery and scan disk card, the audio has quit working. I think its the darn $50 mic adapter. Had or heard of similar problems?
Other than this channel, I watch Do it with Dan, Jake the garden snake, blockhead, Adjrian Nickelodeon, riding with Tom, and Nerb1. There’s others I check out occasionally like Sub-D, C2W, motornosity, and baron von grumble.
I watch: Matt Laidlaw, Fast-Action Jax, David Cohen, Adam Sandoval Rides, Rabid Hedgehog, RidingWithTom and John Maxwell :D Congrats with Action Cam, in riding portion, please tell us more about characteristics = suspension, lean angle, overall handling, acceleration, seating position, handlebars, seat, footpegs or boards, lights, etc. etc. and when doing slo-mo description of the major parts which are highlights for that particular bike. would be great to make comparisons - low rider vs street bob, heritage vs deluxe, street glide vs road glide, road king classic vs road king special etc.. I like your channel, keep posting with cool sense of humor, dirty thumbs up John! ))
John Maxwell finding time is not that easy, we are watching 10-20 min videos and know that hours were spent for research, filming and editing, nice job so far, I enjoy your work 👍🙏
Great video! Best unboxing, gear talk, set up I've seen on YT! TYVM! Have ya seed the GoPro 360!?!? I'm hoping I can find that set up for my Hero 4... I'm also going to be using me Sena 20S mic in place of what you did. Hope you and your family had a great Holiday (he said 5 f*&%ing months later LOL)!
I gotta say though... if 1" is too long, and 3/4" is too short, then 5/8" is NOT gonna help you. If you wanna go between 3/4" and 1", you'll want the 7/8".
John, I also love to watch Matt Laidlaw, Dave Cohen, Shawn Smoak (west coast tech) I installed my GoPro on my RK right engine bar .., great job man! Tech videos are the best! Keep them coming! I retired 35 years military so have biker time on my hands!
Thanks for the info on the camera. I have a list as long as my arm of motovloggers I subscribe to. Some of but not all of my favorites are Touring Midwest, Maikeli7, Ridin' Country, NC Stoney, Ryan Urlacher, Motorcyclefreedom, Low Country Harley Davidson (Doc Harley) ,and some guy that claims to be a highly trained unprofessional. There a lot more but those just popped in my head. You get your big dirty thumbs up !! RFTC.
Just found your channel and subed, the vloggs I have seen so far are great. I watch BLOCKHEAD MOTO ADAM SANDOVOL RIDES FAITH BIKER MATT LAIDLAW KILL SWITCH QUEEN BAPTIST RIDER WALTERIFFIC I sure I am missing some lol
Oh, forgot to add the motovloggers I watch. Adam Sandoval, Bike N’ Bird, Blockhead, Dan Dan the Fireman, Fast Action-Jax, Matt Laidlaw, MCrider, Moto Pilot, Ryan Urlacher and Shadetree Surgeon. Work a lot of off-duty security and gotta kill time! LOL
Can't seem to rid myself of the half lid I've been wearing since the eighties. Who knows. maybe one day. Great video though John, I hope you a the family had an awesome Christmas...
Thanks! I hope you and yours also had a great one. I have worn a full face for years while riding for work, but a half helmet for my own bikes. I suppose I’ll be using this one for both, now. Just depends on whether or not I want to film I guess.
Good video John. I like how you balanced the camera mount with the mic adapter. Looks very clean. I also follow Blockhead and Shadetree Surgeon. Happy New Year.
I've been looking at building one for this spring to do a little vlog with the HD Glide and Indian Scout, bought a few new lids, one of each. Great set up, may have to look into some of your choices.
Another great video Sir! Thanks for your time and effort you put into these. They are great to watch, plus I just got a GoPro Hero 5 Black for xmas and this video was perfect for what I was going to research to use it for. Take care dude, be safe!!
I'm pretty sure I watched a few of his videos when I was searching this, and more recently searching Sena products. Blockhead was a huge help as well. Among many others!
@@TheHarleyTech if a person is paying attention yes lol i carry as well. Love your videos bruh. Just brought my first Harley 2017 Road Glide Special. So your videos have help a lot.
Merry Christmas. I am still wearing a half helmet but good work on that one. I watch whoever shows up that interests me as far as vlogs. I am subscribed to you. Good info always even if I don't feel like working on my bike anymore. Good to see what my mechanic has to go through.
No worries! It’s coming, haha. Maybe not next, but it’s coming! I’ve checked a few things. I’m really worried I’m going to sound like I’m in a big bubble! Oh wait. I am in a big bubble...
Awesome! Looking forward to your first motovlogs! Vloggers I watch: Bike N' Bird, Blockhead, Killswitch Queen, Brooklyn Low Rider, Dan Dan the Fireman, Matt Laidlaw
I really enjoy BnB's humor! That's also what I like about your channel btw. It's just not taking yourself too seriously and emphasizing the fun and joy of riding a bike ^_^ ... and those Texas roads seem amazing! But awesome, continue the tour of the other guys! There's a ton of systemic experience.
Looks like a pretty good setup. Can't wait to see the results. Shawn Smoak is my favorite motovlogger by far. Great vids, and probably the best as far as quality of the sound and the video. His daily vlog channel is great too. Also watch Jake the Snake quite a bit. And I've been watching BLOCKHEAD a lot recently.
Jake the snake was helpful with the helmet setup. I’ll have to check out Shawn Smoak, maybe he has some audio tips, haha! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I found his “audio fix” video last night, so definitely less figuring now! I had seen his helmet setup video, which once I saw more and more people using that setup, it was on!
Craig B in the comments! Thanks for watching and commenting! I found laidlaw during this years dealer show, I could handle just showing up to work and doing RU-vid all day!
you have got the best of both worlds working with harleys n youtubing and doing a very great job at it as well , i will be getting a sports guild in mid jan here in australia and first ever harley davidson im yet to own and cant wait
Thanks man! I also watch Matt Laidlaw and Blockhead, haha. I went to school in Orlando, I used to work for Orlando Harley. That’s a lot of Blockheads appeal to me. He was very helpful in putting together this helmet!
John Maxwell there is one more i watch. Kinda forgot about him. He has a 2017 fatboy 110. His name is Minner Q. Hopefully soon ill get a fatboy bike of my own
John Maxwell i love the 17 fatboy S. Especially in all black. Not a big fan if the new 18s. Something about the headlight. Looks funny lol like its all fused together. U know? Maybe when HD comes out with a an Black version for the new ones i might get it
Really helpful Vlog. I'm fairly new to all of the Vlogging, but I'm digging it!! I watch Matt Laidlaw, Blockead, Bike & Bird, The Smoaks, Shawn Smoak, and John Maxwell of course. Keep 'em coming!!
