The Petzl Corax Harness is a great choice for a versatile, quality harness that will work well for mountaineering and rock climbing. Great features and affordable price make this our “go to” for our outdoor adventures.
The Petzl Corax excels in adjustability, having buckle adjustments in the waist and leg loops. This allows for quick on and off of the harness as you remove or add layers on your ascent or descent. It also allows for a great way to dial in the harness over both multiple layers and when you’ve removed a few jackets too!
The gear loops lay flat so as not to interfere with your pack and yet are available to attach your gear at several points on the harness. It also has two loops on either side of the harness to allow for ice screws to be ready for use. Finally, a gear loop at the back of the harness allows for clipping of your gear bag or your sled as you move up the mountain.
The harness is reasonably comfortable and the great adjustability of the harness allows for an even more comfortable fit. The harness shines when used for mountaineering but finds a home in rock climbing too, both outside and in the gym.
