All PTFE will have a break in period on glass. The PTFE isn't 100% perfectly flat so it wears down in some places more than other with big skates on a hard surface. On some skates this is more noticeable than others but it happens on all of them. This is probably what happened during those 3 weeks. Once that part is over and more surface area is making contact with your pad the wear will slow down drastically and the feet stay consistent in my experience.

Started using the obsidian dots today on superglide pad and the static friction is insanely high. Do they have a break in period?

@@HeistFPS they do have insanely good stopping power, the dynamic friction is superb but for me the static friction is perfect

So, as a for dragonfly f1 moba user what mousepad and skate do you recommend to me? I dont lift up mouse when aiming..

@@Xerathful depends on what pad. if it's a glass pad get obsidian's, cloth or cordura get jade's.

@nyphon How does it feels, I also use atlantis mini and Aqua Control ll black. I’m about to change my feet but still can’t choose between Obsidian and Corepad pro I feel like the Atlantis Mini stock is scratching my pad, does obsidian feel smoother and move easier? Thanks.

@@user-jz9vg1hd9d obsidian on my ACII feels a bit "muddy" but still extremely smooth. stopping power is great which is what i was wanting.

Does Obsidian wear out/ scratch your pad quickly? Im also planning to replace mine with it and pretty concern about damaging my AC2 Sakura

Jade dots are my new favorite skates. I like them a lot cus they don't feel sticky when changing directions and like u said insane value for what you get

Damn i just switched to Tiger Ice on my DAv3 Pro and Viper V2 Pro. Took 4 days for them to arrive, and found out that a seller around my area (like within 3km) is selling the Xraypad Jades and it's cheaper than the Tiger Ice...

Ive tried v2s on multiple mice without knowing and cant really come up with any noticeable differences off the top of my head, probably just slightly higher quality blend+adhesive

If ur looking for control, Id recommend corepad ctrl over it for cloth/hybrid pads. Obsidians for glass

Im waiting for the arc2 for the gpx2...Much better then the corepad Skates or Stock Skates, because they are thicker (no scratchy Feeling by Pressung on the gsr2 and more Uniform gliding. Im Testing the x raypad Obsidian and ICE V2 next days

I think by saying that the material is a "harder PTFE blend" they refer to the scratch and indentation hardness being higher than normal PTFE. What you're talking about is elasticity which is also a type of hardness (rebound hardness). I have the obsidians as dots skates and the scratch hardness and the indentation hardness are a bit harder than other skates like corepad or tiger ice. By the way that's not objectively a good thing, a skate that has higher scratch hardness also feels scratchier in use which is why i prefer corepads. But what you are talking about is the rebound hardness (elasticity) and it feels pretty much the same to me on all skates that I tried including the obsidian dots, its not really noticeable (haven't tried the jades). Maybe the obsidian dots feel a tiny bit more bouncy than other skates when resetting the mouse on a glass pad because the dot variant got an air pocket in the center. But I can't make them compress by pressing down on the mouse on a glass pad. However if I use the obsidian dots on a cloth pad instead they do sink into the pad more easily because the surface area of the skates is smaller. But that's the same with all dot skates.

Lamzu bad skates really? I was really pleased with the stock lamzu skates on my atlantis. Are they different on the thorn do you know?

​@@bezellikthey're not bad skates, just not exceptional - they have an annoying scratchiness that i've seen multiple people complan about, and they're not as fast as I'd like. I haven't tried atlantis so i can't say if they are the same or different.

How many dot configurations did you try? That affects the friction and scratchy feeling a lot. I haven’t found any skates not affected by dust on glass pads that kinda comes with the territory

@@boardzy i tried 4 dots each in one corner, 6 dots evenly spread across the bottom of the mouse and then I also cut two dots in half and put one half in each corner. The dots cut in half felt the best, they were the least scratchy but still pretty bad imo. And yeah with corepads I can feel dust aswell whenever there's some on the pad but with the obsidians dust feels 10x worse.

ok, i gave the obsidian dots another chance because I heard that they got an unusually long break in period. So I scratched them up with sand paper and then polished them by moving my mouse around on my glass pad with a lot of pressure and now I actually like them. They're pretty smooth and quiet. Not as quiet as fresh core pads but more quiet then old corepads. And the high amount of static friction is gone, too. Assuming the skates stay this way I might actually prefer them over corepads.

@AnnoyingPenny I don't think there is a difference after a month but they are my only skates so I'm not sure if they are the best option

I heard it can scratch/ damage cloth pads easily, how is your now? As im planning to replace mine as well and im also using ac2 pad

ptfe scratches and permanently bends easily, is pretty expensive and really bad for the environment. So making the feet which are the smaller part out of ptfe makes more sense. But there is a youtuber who did buy a ptfe plate and reviewed it as a mousepad. His name is Pipi and the video should come up if you search "ptfe mousepad", its an interesting video.

I always see comparisons with tiger ice but im not sure which to get. I used to love the Superglide V1's fresh out the box feeling as my mouse would move on its own with how incredibly low the friction was. I want to replicate that feeling once again.

Not all PTFE is the same. There are many brands putting out 100% PTFE skates, by your logic they would all be identical, which is obviously not the case
