Best advice:visit and scope out the area..we moved to Destin and, discovered the weather was terrible. A year later moved to Sarasota and love it. Wish we had visited your channel first.
Thank you for your excellent video! My husband, adult son, and I are moving to Pensacola from northern Pennsylvania. Our youngest daughter is a current student at Pensacola Christian College, and I went there for a few years, as well. We're moving there mostly for my health, but also to be close to activities that we can take part in, from theater to church groups. Your last point has been the only thing giving pause: our eldest daughter recently married and will be living here. That is going to be difficult to leave her and her new husband, who we love dearly, behind.
Perfect timing! Im looking at new homes in Parrish today. Flew in from California yesterday. Plan to make the move in about 6-8 months. Can you pm handyman info as well?
I'd like to make the move to Florida; the major draw being community and new experiences. Outdoor activities are high on my list as well. I currently live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and there's really nothing here that encourages any of those things. Unless you're into gambling, bar hopping, fishing or snowmobiling, you're going to get real bored real fast. Plus, the flora & fauna and wildlife of Florida are so much more beautiful! Unfortunately, my budget tells me we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. lol
Please be aware of the scorching hot and humid weather in Lakewood Ranch. It is truly unbearable for 7 months of the year. You cannot leave your house. If your moving form the West Coast, please be aware of this. We moved back to New England after a year. It was the best decision we have ever made!
I have had a few issues but it all is based on the age of the roof typically. Insurance is a big concern in Florida and you just have to know what the cost are before purchasing.
Oh my gosh, that is a great question. I have relatives in San Diego and have been many times but not sure I can answer that. We are much smaller than San Diego so not sure it is Sarasota. Although we are located along the water!
