🐟 Strike King 8.0 - amzn.to/2PJW47A
The Strike King 8.0 is still the best musky crankbait in my tackle box! I recently changed up the stock treble hooks to 1/0 BKK spear 21-ss for better fish catching power, stay tuned for that next video.

Learning so much from your videos my friend, thank you! Can’t wait to get that rig I set up out there and try to land me one. I’m definitely increasing the odds with your advice - much appreciated!👊💥🎣

Appreciate the feedback, yeah giving baits slight twitches or stop and go definitely increases your odds 1:55 1:06

I went on a charter last week and while it was fun, I still want to catch one casting. I haven’t targeted them yet but I might start this fall. Those cranks are the same one you used on the day you caught three on your Hobie if I remember right. I’ll definitely add them to my arsenal when I do. “Damn 10 foot rod” 😂👍 What kind of line to leader setup do you use?

Yeah 10 foot makes it a lot easier for the figure 8, but landing them not so much! lol. I make my own custom leader now with a clear yo-zuri 100 lb fluoro and snap, with a double uni knot to 80 or 100 lb power pro and "no swivel." I like a very long leader for casting, more you can disguise your lure and ambush them, the better! a.co/d/0f4eiUo Charters are not the same, don't slow down the boat, you drag them on the surface, its nowhere as fun. And the people that brag catching 50 inchers trolling are a joke. Feeling them bite, feeling them fight when casting when they're in their prime and not worn out from chasing down the lure down trolling, they're more likely to jump and do acrobat movements. And you can never experience followups doing trolling. From my experience trolling is a waste of time! fb.watch/naQ9mvZFI7/ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7nHmwwa4Yms.htmlsi=RAbteB3d3elMBV6m However trolling from a kayak, the effort put in, thats different and a lot more fun! Warning, once you experience a musky at its full potential casting, some never go back to fishing for other freshwater species again. Yeah its that addicting instagram.com/p/CxHVtHsrFbT/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Musky just range from all different shapes and sizes too, some have giant bellies and are short stubby or long, some are super long and snake-like thin like over in the marsh area near harsans Island area, just different genetics, you could even have a tiger musky or big pike on... Point is, with bass fishing a lot of the fish look the same, feel the same, its constant repetiveness over and over again, when you hook into an Esox you never fucking know what you got on your line, what type of genetics, a sub-species like barred, cross breed such as a hybrid tiger, different strain from another small inland lake that has different characteristics. How the fish is going to act, they all tend to feel different and fight differently at different parts of the lake, whether its shallow or deep water, marsh area versus city side. The head shakes, the amount of weight you feel when hooking into them, the long lengthy body that wags back and forth, them possibly jumping. Doesn't compare to smallmouth fishing, even though they're great fighters, not even close... Accomplishing catching one definitely puts your fishing skills on another level too. I know and have fished with anglers that are very good bass fishermen, but suck at musky fishing, its not for everyone. I noticed it start to get to them and then they got burned out. Athletes who are resilient in sports like hockey, basketball and football tend to make the best musky fishermen like Christian Laettner etc... www.eternalangler.org/going-to-war-with-the-great-muskellunge-aka-apex-predator/

@@EternalAngler I hear you. I've only hooked into ONE Tiger Muskie by accident on the kayak and it was one of the most intense minutes of my life (before he made an acrobat jump and spit the hook). I really need to get into it. If not this fall, next year for sure.

Not lately, yesterday I should of tried since it was so calm, especially near dusk, there was some musky surfacing following bait fish. Definitely want to try the fat bastard in back of metro and in front too.

It looked perfect for top water. Are the weeds bad? I might try it next week...give those Bass a break. Lol

@@bruuuce78 it was, it definitely had crossed my mind how the conditions were perfect especially towards dusk, but when you get 3 musky under an hour on a particular bait, tend to stick with it, also crossed my mind of a 50 incher hitting the 8.0. I definitely want to try some topwater soon though on musky, yesterday did seem to be the perfect conditions. No the weeds weren't bad at all, little bit here and there, but not much...
