The new Stonfo Tension Bobbins just arrived here in the US last week and we are super impressed with them here at the shop. Two models were released, and both are tension bobbins. They both are the same design, the Steeltech is the standard size more geared to trout flies, while the Streamer is larger and is more geared toward tying larger flies.
These bobbins are machined and feel great in hand. The tension mechanism is machined to perfection with tight tolerances: this bobbin feels like it was made for a king. Rubber "O" rings allow for a seamless fit when swapping/removing components. The tension component can be removed, and it can be used as a standard bobbin as well. When used in this fashion, it still has an impressive amount of tension built into it without the additional mechanism.
