I just want to say as someone with fair skin I appreciate your videos so much. So many times I've purchased hyped products only for them to be wayy too dark for my skin tone. I know I'll never have to worry about that with any of your recommendations :)
Some other great nude recommendations: - mac modesty - nyx butter gloss in madeline - rimmel lipstick in 240 - antipodes lipstick in Queenstown Hot Chocolate (my absolute FAVOURITE colour and formula!!) - revlon lipstick in Smoky Rose (I went through about 5 of these in late teens/early 20's!) - hourglass girl balm in Peacemaker - chosungah22 lip tint in Alpaca (amaaaazing peachy nude) - mac Naturally Transformed, Really Me and Twig are also great unique lip colours too!! Hope these help, these are all my favs as well as the elf natural and maybelline tantalizing taupe! 😉
I've always felt the term "fair" skin is more flattering than "pale" skin! Anyone who is not fair-skinned probably wouldn't realize the difference but I feel like "pale" has a somewhat negative connotation whereas "fair" sounds more beautiful, at least in my opinion!
The Stila sheer liquid lips are divine. They are so comfortable and the shade patina in the regular is just to mauve for my skin tone but the sheer version is perfection.

Those elf twist up pencils are such a nice consistency. I really love the feeling of them on the lips, and they wear off very nicely. Also - they are a great drugstore option for cruelty free lovers !
Hey Arna, another fabulous video! Let me just give you some food for thought, regarding the switch over to "fair"...I believe that PART of the reason that PALE is used, rather than FAIR, within the beauty community, is because there has been some controversy over the racism behind the use of the word "fair" as a skintone descriptor. Historically, "fair" is a synonym for "beautiful", eg. "fair maiden"; & the fact that it is used for the lightest skin-tones, is seen as problematic/offensive. I had personally never made that connection, but I believe that it was Jackie Aina who recently discussed the topic. Secondarily, I believe that "pale" is used as a skintone category LIGHTER than "fair" (as is "porcelain"), in the same way "deep" or "rich" can be used for the deepest complexions. I understand the inherent negative connotations that can come along with the word "pale", e.g. sickly/unwell; and I still catch myself using the term "fair" interchangeably w/pale & porcelain. I just thought I'd let you know something I recently learned, to give you the most information possible. I know how easy it is to offend (even unintentionally) in this day & age, & perhaps it would never even come up; but I'd like you to just be aware of this cultural discussion.
Thanks for sharing! I had no idea!! Although, if I’m honest, my channel in and of itself probably offends some people just because I focus on finding beauty solutions for the lightest of skin tones and that has been called tone deaf by some, so I don’t think I’ll ever win 😣
Arna Alayne I understand. I personally have no issue with "lightest"/"darkest" shade series, & channels that focus on skintone-specific solutions, as well as featuring general beauty/product recommendations. Formulations can differ by shade (even color products, like lipsticks, etc.); & especially for those of us on either end of the spectrum, solutions can be harder to find. I find the pale-skin community here on YT to be a useful tool, lovely meeting-place, & occasional commiseration-zone ;)
Thanks! My skin tone is very fair and cool but my hair is very dark so I have a big contrast and everytime I try a nude lipstick I look like I am ill, I will try some of the darker cool toned lipsticks you show and see if I look better. You look gorgeous specially with the cool toned lipsticks!
Oh my gosh! Natural by elf is my absolute favorite. It’s a great everyday color and I love how easy it is to throw on. I have the other colors in that format as well. I love that layout, sort of the “stick” I may try nudestix or colourpop. I also love naked by Milani but I have it in the matte version. I also NEED to try Mac blankety. I’ve never been too into Mac, but it looks beautiful! Xoxo
I literally paused this video and ran and got my elf lipstick in natural because I had to see for myself it had a sharpener on the end, I never knew! lol but that lipstick is my favorite nude since it is like a my lips but better shade. It's perfect!
i actually love the Maybelline Tantalizing Taupe, and I think another great nude for fair skintones from Maybelline is 745 Wooden Brown, which is a bit more neutral than Tantalizing Taupe.
I particularly appreciate this video, because I have notoriously had a hard time finding flattering cooler/neutral nudes...roses, mauves, berries, brights, vamps, no prob...but I try a "popular" nude on my pale, C-to-N skintone, and it's often distastrous...I've actually had shades go on looking fine & turn bright orange over about an hour (E. Lauder)...eek ;) I definitely have to check out the last 3 shades.
My favourite nude lipsticks for my fair skin (00 Alabaster in Bobbi Brown Skin Stick Foundation) are in order: Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Color in Blush, Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Bare, and NARS Satin Lipstick in Rosecliff. This video was wonderful! Blankety looks like a great colour!

Blankety is my all time favorite nude EVER. I’ve repurchased it 4 times and received it as a gift twice. Pretty sure it’ll be my lip color for my wedding next year. (I am fair as well )
Thank You soooo much for getting me into the Tantalizing Taupe lipstick :) I struggled very hard to get an nude lipstick that does not look too brown in my lips or that is too dry/matte. I do have a cool toned skin with freckles and most nude lipsticks are too warm for me. I really LOVE the Tantalizing Taupe and wear it almost every time i want to wear a nude lipstick. It is perfect!
Oooooh I'm SO excited to try that Mac lipstick .. and I'll probably go for the elf one in the meantime. I don't wear makeup too often ,, but I generally go for a natural eye look and contour.... Completely neglecting my lips!!!! I've got to get something soon

Hey Arna, have you ever heard about personal color analysis? It's a system designed to allow people to discover which shades of color in clothes and makeup complement your natural coloring to look healthier. For example, I'm a deep (dark) winter and I look most harmonious in colors that are dark, medium brightness and slightly cool. Now I understand why in some colors I looked bad, unhealthy and this interesting discipline helps me to look at my best and to choose the right clothes and makeup products.
It's so interesting how colour works on skin tones I cant wear red clothes it makes my skin look like I'm sun burnt but I can have fire red hair and I look fine but with green it's the other was around I wear a green top and I look great green hair and I look like I'm gonna puke.
I have quite pigmented lips and blankety lightens them up a little which I love! My true nude is MAC’s modesty, but the cremesheen formula isn’t as comfortable for me as amplified one. Gotta look for the l’oreal gloss, wonder if it’s available in the EU. Lovely video as always, and I really appreciate swatches for easy comparison

Maybelline's matte lipsticks in Nude Embrace and Nude Nuance are quite pretty as well. The first one is definitely a lighter nude and the latter is deeper. And call me basic but I love MAC's Velvet Teddy.
Excellent video, as usual. Great information! I am not a fair skinned lady, I'm medium, but somehow I look better in lighter lipsticks. I'm running out to get the Milani lipstick in Nude and the Stila liquid lipstick in Caramello. I think those will be just right for me. Even though I am not fair, I love your videos because you do such a great job of including useful information (plus...that accent!). I loved the MAC lippie! I've been obsessed w their lip liner since I could buy it w my babysitting money 😂 That was my big official makeup counter purchase 😂 I think that lippie will b good with my neutral warm looks..it's hard to find a light, not super pigmented one but I think that's the winner!!👍🏻💐

I‘m fair skinned as well (MAC NW10 in summer) and I absolutely love the matte lipstick ‘Soft Touch‘ by Anastasia Beverly Hills. Haven‘t found a nude yet that is more flattering than this one :) (Sorry for eventual mistakes, I’m not a native speaker).
I searched for ages to find my perfect nude shade and I ended up finding and loving Maybelline Creamy Matte in Daringly Nude. I also recently bought Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipliner and it's so similar to my lip colour that it hardly looks like I'm wearing anything at all, which wasn't exactly what I was going for but it's nice for underneath all my neutral lipsticks. Also, it's great that you brought up the terminology we use to describe skin tone. I had never really consciously thought about there being a difference between 'fair' and 'pale' and how I use those terms, but I always describe myself as 'pale', and that's because I have severe depression that means a.) I don't leave my house regularly and so my skin doesn't often see the sun and b.) I genuinely look physically ill because of my depression, and that includes my face looking unhealthily pale. So the way I use the word 'pale' to describe myself has a negative connotation to it because I don't like having depression and I don't like that it manifests itself physically in that way. Before I had depression, I can't ever remember thinking of myself as pale or describing myself in that way, or anyone else describing me that way.
Lovely video! I got the Elf Natural one a while back and really liked it, but I seem to have lost it. So sad. I also got Tea rose wich also suits me. But Natural would be nice for spring and summer (we still have lots of snow this spring). I'll have to order it again, it's not in stores near me. Since yesterday a store in my town carries Mac!! Love this video! We must think alike as I already own 5 of the lip products mentioned. I think sadly the Maybelline one has recently been discontinued as I went to repurchase and there was a new series of shades listed! I am really keen to try some of the others you mentioned here but I always go back to Caramello and Blankety.
Arna, I’m so glad you changed the name of your channel to “fair” skin. The word pale comes from the word pallor, meaning lack of color to the skin due to illness, fatigue or not well. The word “fair”, has multiple meanings all of which are positive attributes and depict one who is of true beauty!! Love from the US! Keep up the good work, you’re a true inspiration!

Fairest Nude by L'Oreal used to be my fave nude, until I found Blankety, which I've been told is a dupe for Fairest Nude. I don't mind spending the extra money for Blankety because I don't like the smell of the L'Oreal lipsticks.
Great selection of nudes. I've been back and forth with Audition from Smashbox & I didn't realize that Blankety is so pretty on fair skin. If you get the Loreal Color Riche Shines I think you may really enjoy Dazzling Doe. It's a cool tone nude & is really unlike all the others that I have.
Nice one! Yes, very helpful thanks.... I've had some real disasters buying nude lippy (online and and instore where I've been unable to swatch for an accurate undertone check) - and I've just ended up stocking my sister's makeup drawer. LOL. Anything too warm just looks so dreadfully yuk on me (not to mention makes my teeth look those of an 18th century hygenically challenged pirate). Those Elf and Milani ones are very tempting and seem cool enough to be right up my alley, with the Stila bullet and Smashbox ones coming in close behind.
My new favorite fair nude is stila's new shade in baci in the stay all day liquid lip' I don't know if it's my favorite formula the Kat Von D is really good too my favorite was a combo of Bow n' Arrow with Requiem in the center.
I was given Teddy Bare by Malani and I did not think that it would look good with my fair skin. It surprised me by looking like a beautiful shade. If you try it I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. All of the lipsticks/gloss in this video are beautiful on you :)
